It's the same dudes playing together. I think it's because they are at that edge of popularity. They aren't super popular but they have their hits. I always loved their music since I first got their self titled albums from my bro in the 90s. Love how unique they are. And it's cool to have a band go through my life with me
311 is one of those bands that's like an old friend you run into and didn't realize you missed but whenever you see or hear from them it makes you really happy to know they're still rocking.
Thats exactly how I feel, same with the beastie boys, and rage against machine, and when you meet this old friend, you say to them, why did we stop hanging out, we need to chill more
As a grunge kid, this was the best music to jump around to. Crunchy guitars, sick pocket grooves. I get why some people hate on 311 sometimes, but come on, these guys are the shit. These songs still jam the fuck out.
This is 2003 bruh this is Nu Metal.. Grunge kind of turned into nu metal.. There's a lot of post grunge nu metal bands that mix grunge with the Nu style at the time of the late 90's early 2000's.

Justin RaiderKnight Damn you, you fortunate bastad! I'm crazy jealous. Must have been an interesting point when they became known as 311. Did you know about them being in the band at the time?
You know you're doing something right when the original line up has been kicking ass for over 30 years and is still putting out studio albums with tours to follow . They make music because of their passion for music, not for making a quick buck. This is how you make music, 5 individuals who make a lifelong commitment to have a fuck ton of fun and making music together, intertwining each other's unique style to form a kick ass song.
I remember seeing them in Austin on the debut of the grassroots album. Incredible show. They played every song from music and grassroots alternating back to back. Finished with fuck the bullshit its time to throw down
I was walking down the street in Vegas, I heard music. As I got closer it got louder. Then I discovered 311 playing outside at UNLV! '91 Been a fan since that day!!
UUUUGH! Please come back 90’s alternative, grunge and rock! Hands down it’s one of the top 2 or 3 decades for music. That was my teenage and highschool years. I miss it soo much.
Best live song at a 311 show, since the song was released. No video can do this song being performed live, justice. You just have to be at their live show.
I agree. Crowd is usually pretty into it during the whole song but when the chorus comes in "go a little crazy, sometimes...." The crowd goes #*"@+! nuts!!!
Man, hombrew, fuck the bullshit, GAP, Plain, Omaha Stylee, freak out, T&P combo, Hive all way better live than this jam. Dig this song but the others just hit harder
@@koreyseeba3835 When it comes to pit at USANA Amphitheater in Salt Lake, Creatures is absolutely by far the most intense. A mosh circle will form within the pit on the harder songs and every time, creatures is the one that the 'faint of heart' should stay out of. If you can remain standing throughout the entire song it's an accomplishment. You're going to take some hard hits from people ramming into you. If you get a bit off balance and then rammed into, there's a pretty good chance you're on the ground. 311 fans are fuckin awesome though and anytime someone gets knocked down, multiple people will hurry and help them up. @@koreyseeba3835 Pretty funny though. At a concert like 10 years back, there was some 20ish year old blonde chick who was probably about 5'4, 110-120 lbs who decided to go into the mosh pit on creatures and she got rammed into and got fuckin launched and surely fell pretty damn hard to the ground. And then in this music video....2:57 Not only is it a similar looking blonde haired girl, but that's very close to how hard the concert chick got shoved, hahaha. It's good that at the concert, the guy didn't do it intentionally. The guy that knocked her over had gotten shoved while off balance and launched and she happened to be right in his path. So he reflexively pushed off of her as an attempt to regain his balance. Unfortunately for her the dude probably weighed about 200-220 lbs...If it had just been some asshole dude who did it intentionally, that would be fucked up, but since she didn't have any injuries and it was the result of the type of hits and shoves that happen to everyone, it's just 100% funny. I went and saw 311 (the most amazing band ever) just a couple years ago in Irvine, California at 5 points amp. I seen 311 with slightly Stoopid at the jacobs pavilion in Cleveland. It was like 90 degress that night . And 311 fuckin rocked they played for like over 2 hours.
Out of Omaha myself here. Grew up watching and listening to these guys. First band I ever saw ranch bowl days around here. Still carry The Down alien album in my car for at and all times for old memories.
It's been 1 year since I found this band, I wish I'd found them waaaay before, and obviously I still don't regret it, but this will be my favorite 311 song forever 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Same here. My Mom got me into 311 and I'm incredibly grateful. I grew up with this kind of music because of MX vs ATV Untamed, so I was always a fan of nu-metal/rap metal. So it reminds me a lot of dirt bikes and things of that sort. The '90s and early 2000s were the Golden age of sx and mx, and 311 was making their best music around that time. Started off with Down and Come Original and now I'm absolutely hooked. No going back.
This group changed and saved my life after my heart stopping 3 times in one night at 38 years old they gave me my hope back keep it up homies the word needs this group

I don't even know what to call this, it's like, rock, nu metal, alt rock, alt metal, reggae, and various other world music influences. Sounds great though. Makes for some odd riffs, reminds me of like, Skindred guitar work at times.
A friend that introduced me to 311 called it bouncy music. I just saw 311 for my first time in Tampa at The Cuban Club, small venue everyone there, including band; jumped up and down whole concert. Had a blast!
This band is my teens and early twenties. Makes me so nostalgic…I was 20 when this CD(LMAO) came out! Warp Tours… Good Friends…Great Times. Always Uncalm…
Yes! Same thing happened to me. I knew they had an album coming out soon, and I just happened to walk into a random music store and heard this song playing over their speakers. The wait over the next couple of weeks was excruciating.
Anyone who loves 311 needs to listen to sElf. For serious. It's on Spotify and you'll love him. He's a fucking musical genius. Not spamming, just wanting to bring some more joyous music to my peers ^_^ peace & love
You're very welcome :) It's just one dude but obviously he'd be nowhere without his backup band. Check out his ted talk. You'll be inspired :) It's Matt Magaffey Ted Talk on RUclips. Peace & Love. Take care of yourself & someone else ^_^
311 old stuff is by far the best from music to sound system. This song reminds me of their old sound. Bring back that hard hitting sound. I’m so ready for a more hard album like grassroots and self titled.
True story: One night back in 2006 when I was in college I was drunk and put on my headphones and walked through a neighborhood near my apartment. This song came on and I started moshing off parked cars and fences in people's front yards. I then twisted my ankle and sat down on the sidewalk rubbing my ankle. A group of guys walked by and asked if I was alright. My reply was "Do you guys like 311?" They laughed and said yes, so I said "Fuck yeah!" and they laughed and kept walking. I eventually got up and limped back to my apartment. I guess sometimes I went a little crazy.
It's good to go a little crazy. I can't imagine my life if I was calm. I was a teen in the '90s and it was the best time to grow up. I'm always amazed that I lived to tell the tale. If I did the stuff now that I did then, with the way the world is, I'd be in a ornate box on my dad's fireplace.
Oh man I got a good 311 ankle story too : There was a cover band in Canada with a girl singer and they played Down like absolute kings and I went complete berserk and started jumping around like a kangaroo. During the last headbanging riff of the song I twisted both ankles at the same time on an awkward landing right in front of the stage and I heard the singer go "oOoohh ffuu" off mic as the song was beating to an end. I went home paddling my skateboard like fkin Kenny that night. Both feet black the next day.
Always gonna be my favorite 311 song :) Happy 311 day everyone. I just reviewed the bands new album "Stereolithic". It's the featured video on my channel, let me know what you thought of it!

But the energy gets the best of me
It's been a wild ride

I can't slow down inside
Guess that's why I live it
The years of mischief
Followed by weeks of thrift
I land on earth's hard face
No legs could keep that pace
And through the rest I sift
Is there ever a time
When the state of sleeping willingly leaves my mind
Highly frustrated want to feel elated
Come Monday morn you feel checkmated
You can be uncool and become the rule
Exceptions were made to drown
I'm not used to it, you'd think I'd be by now
The ins the outs the ups and the downs
I want to make a mess
I want to blow off stress
I want to stoke the fire
Just creatures for a while
I want to make a mess
I want to blow off stress
I want to stoke the fire
Just creatures, Just creatures
It comes and goes and comes and goes
Sometimes I go a little crazy
Sometimes I go a little crazy just like you I do
I know what you we're gonna say
But were afraid to cause dismay
You're lyrics switched around
The mixture watered down
And now a pointless display
It's something one won't understand
Unless there in it with me hand and hand
Don't buy the fear don't buy that my dear
The things you love you must keep near and
Carry on and you won't feel withdrawn
Even if you're coming down
Sometimes it's wearable sometimes is bearable
I careen towards balance til' the glass is full
I want to make a mess
I want to blow off stress
I want to stoke the fire
Just creatures for a while
I want to make a mess
I want to blow off stress
I want to stoke the fire
Just creatures, just creatures
It comes and goes and comes and goes
Sometimes
Sometimes I get a little out there
Sometimes I go off
Sometimes just like you
I go a little crazy
Sometimes I go a little crazy just like you I do
Sometimes I go a little crazy

A friend that introduced me to 311 called it bouncy music. I just saw 311 for my first time in Tampa at The Cuban Club, small venue everyone there, including band; jumped up and down whole concert. Had a blast!
DarkestofTimes Omaha Stylee!
Love Jesus Christ and 311 an bump this forever 35 now ❤
Chad Sexton and P-Nut may be the best rhythm section since Chad Smith and Flea. You know what I'm talking about.
+Jonas Butler I have said this many times, except that I flip it and give the edge to Chad and P-Nut. Either way...
+Jonas Butler The Best Singing Group is SA Martinez and Nick Hexum
I would counter with Neil Peart and Geddy Lee, but then I remembered you said "since Chad Smith and Flea."
Dude P-Nut is freaking ridiculous
News flash, Einstein! Sexton and P-Nut have been playing together since 1988, the same year Smith first played with Flea!
I love this band!!! Got to see them a couple years ago in San Diego.. what a great GREAT night
Clicked this on accident but I don’t think I’m regretting it one bit.
311=
It was no accident
Welcome to Omaha :)
I come here because im a skinhead 311 was a bad search but WTH listen to the words
It’s been six months. Did you end up regretting it?
311 is the best thing ever
One band that has not lost their way and turned to pop!! Love em!!
I remember this coming out my 8th grade summer going into 9th. Nostalgia indeed.
This band is my teens and early twenties. Makes me so nostalgic…I was 20 when this CD(LMAO) came out! Warp Tours… Good Friends…Great Times.
Always Uncalm…
sickest intro of all time!!!!!

Been playing guitar for like 20+ years and this guy is soooo underrated, he's fucking good.

Yes! Same thing happened to me. I knew they had an album coming out soon, and I just happened to walk into a random music store and heard this song playing over their speakers. The wait over the next couple of weeks was excruciating.
***** I know, right?!! Goosebumps!
happy 311 day!!
14 years, hope you're still alive. 🤣
Anyone who loves 311 needs to listen to sElf. For serious. It's on Spotify and you'll love him. He's a fucking musical genius. Not spamming, just wanting to bring some more joyous music to my peers ^_^ peace & love
Awesome, I checked them out, thanx. Their like mindless self indulgence meets INXS, love it.
Awesome song. Love the energy.
WATCH IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
und3rc0v3rbr0ther But what if I don't want to watch it right... Oh wait, I see what you did there :-P
Joe Willard lol!
All time great band! Put them in the rock and roll hall of fame NOW!!!
no one makes music like this anymore
True musicianship right here.
Me encanta esta canción.. ♡
Ya somos dos, te recomiendo las demás desde los años 1991 están rockeando con grandes exitos.
@@astronomo1muerto Escuche algunas pero me voy a poner a buscar más, gracias. 😌✨
@@DANA.VAMPIRE Yo los escucho desde 1995! Pero tienen albums desde 1991 hasta la fecha.
Best and most unique band ever!!!
This is the best song ever by them......I remember mtv and mtv 2
Discovered some new songs from them. They are awesome musicians, mixing different musical styles in a brilliant way.
Nobody sounds like 311. It's a combo of Chad Sexton, Nick Hexum and SA Martinez. Not to discount the others, but they front the band..
Happy 311 day everyone!
Have a fucking amazing day.. and remember.. 311 is fucking amazing.
Trueee
Oh man I got a good 311 ankle story too :
There was a cover band in Canada with a girl singer and they played Down like absolute kings and I went complete berserk and started jumping around like a kangaroo.
Just a little?
Based
I’m laughing my ass off picturing this in my head. Thank you for sharing this
Listening on 3.11.22. 311 still gets me!
When that beat kicks in at 0:29 watch it now
20 years is a blast when you hear this song again and again and again for the rest of your life.🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😎😎😎😎

I just noticed the ballerina thing for the first time after seeing this video a gazillion times lol I thought it was pretty cool
There should me many more 311 songs on ever channel, in every Playlist, and every dance floor 🎉🎉
I play drums so I'm all about rhythm , 311 is definitely a rhythm based band... and their lyrics are good to!
Dude 311 creature was my jam
Happy birthday to my boo Nick hexum rock on gorgeous mad love to you
Happy 51st birthday Guitar player, Nicholas Lofton Hexum April 12, 1970. Madison, Wisconsin. Played in the Jazz band in a Nebraska high school. And made it big. Lesson learned. Big things come from small beginnings.
