I just wanted to say, that when I wanted to learn about my hair type 4c, I got very overwhelmed by all the big content creators and their many, many, many products and the amount of time they spent in their hair. And they all say different things, do this, do that, do a backflip during a full moon and your hair will grow!!
And then I found your channel and it actually made me feel better about having this hairtype, realizing that hair will grow regardless (I knew that of course, but with some things it takes another voice to say it to actually sink in, ya know), and you don't need to do crazy stuff to see growth.
And in the last 4 months my hair is steadily grown.
I just want to say, thank you for not allowing myself to become an hair obsessed idiot and talking sense to the camera 😅😂
Now that you mentioned having ADHD and Autism I wonder if that's why I could "understand" your content better because I'm in the same boat (minus the autism for me, it's not diagnosed at least)
It truly sucks that you had (and have) to go through the cruelty of people on the internet. TikTok has been weird to me early on, and Instagram... I'm only on it for art which is rather friendly corner.

I find you refreshing and honest. You made a comment once that said...black women have accomplished and are capable of so many things, but the conversation always seems to revert back to us growing hair out of our heads, a natural body function that we have no control over. I think about that comment a lot, so much truth.

I hate how anonymity makes people think they got the greenlight to bully and harass someone. It's insane. Even worse is when it's from other black people because all you're doing to talking about the acceptance of our hair the way it is. They don't like the truth, that's why they talk trash. People would rather be fed garbage all day if it will keep them in their delusions further.
that was the worst thing about it for me. it would've been one thing if they had all been from non black ppl, bc then black folk prolly woulda come to my defense even if they felt i was talkin a lil crazy. but the fact that it came from our own ppl, that they were **proudly** upholding the same harmful supremacist standards that caused us to fight so hard for the crown act... it was beyond me, to be quite honest.
I found this video at the perfect time omg. I’m 24, unemployed, short 4c hair, etc. Social media is unrelentingly cruel to black women and it takes a toll on my mental health too. I’ve been in a really and funk for a couple weeks bc it scares me to know how much we are hated for absolutely nothing.
Anyways I pray that you never give up on your content creation, and keep using your platform to uplift neurodivergent black women 💓💓💓

i remember when you made reels critiquing the practice of wearing braids back to back and the obsession many black folks have with long, hanging hair. i agreed, and thought that these were uncontroversial things to say… until i saw the comment section and the absolute nastiness people threw at you left and right. my hair is so similar in texture to yours, so to see those comments really hurt. i can’t even imagine being on the receiving end of such vile comments. and the way so many of these comments were coming from fellow black women… 💔

i'm already starting to feel loads better than when i first stepped away and it's only been like four months. sometimes it hurts bc i see brand opportunities come up but they're only for creators who hit the very milestones i previously qualified for, but i doubt i'll go back to how it was before, even if i go back to social media.
honestly the reason they're like that is, the information applies to them too much for them to successfully lie to themselves like they have been all this time. they don't like their masks being pulled off cuz they don't wanna address the issue - they wanna pretend they never struggled with the issue in the first place.

i have one black owned brand that i've reached out to, but i can't base it off of that bc not everything i use is black owned. i go more by formulation than ownership.

Fast forward to now I finally found you on RUclips and couldn’t be more excited. I also recently created a TikTok and I had a list of people that I wanted to follow and you were one of them. I was upset I didn’t see your videos but seeing you explain why, I COMPLETELY understand. People can’t handle the truth and since they can’t, they like to project that onto others.
