- EP 5 - “MY DOWNFALL”
While Life After Death is rich with vibrant singles like “Hypnotize” and “Mo Money Mo Problems,” the album’s darkness is undeniable. A dominant theme is death whether by fictitious murders or Biggie prophesying his own. The song that captures this best is “My Downfall.”
On Episode 5, we have an ensemble of guests break down the brilliance of the descending track. My Downfall’s producer Nasheim Myrick makes another appearance to further illuminate Biggie’s crown. Then the man who loved Christopher Wallace like none other Lil Cease joins me for one of his realest interviews ever.

The Notorious B.I.G. channel is the official RUclips home of The Notorious B.I.G. featuring his catalog of official music videos. The Notorious B.I.G. is widely recognized as one of the world’s most influential rappers and has sold more than 17 million albums in the U.S. alone. Before his murder in 1997, Christopher Wallace recorded two classic albums as The Notorious B.I.G. His debut Ready to Die arrived in 1994 and helped revitalize the East Coast rap scene with massive hits like “Big Poppa” and “Juicy.” Life After Death was released in March 1997 just weeks after he was shot and killed in Los Angeles. The record topped the U.S. album charts and featured the hits “Hypnotize” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.” It remains one of the few hip-hop albums to ever achieve Diamond certification from the RIAA. - Видеоклипы

Breaking down how he went to watch Casino then he comes back to say “ Watch Casino , I’m the hip Hop Version of Nicky terintino ask nino he know “ Da Greatest
It’s amazing how we still getting new information that’s making his lyrics make sense after 25 years
Angie is a MASTER interviewer. The way she doubles down on questions and poignant details is 💎
She can still get it too
My Downfall is one of my favorites! I wish Puffy voice was not all over the record!!!

"I actually look at BIG like he was a ittle brother now because I outlived him, when he actually raised me" - Lil' Cease
Bruh I was 12 years old when I first heard notorious thugs and I can honestly say I’m so thankful I ran into biggies music. That man was so powerful in that booth I couldn’t believe my ears at that time. I couldn’t believe how good he was when I got into the rest of his music. Thank god RUclips came around in 2006 cuz it gave our legends from the 90s another run in the limelight when people from my era ran into their music on the enternet
I remember having the same experience when I first heard Nxggas Bleed and KITD. Sounded like ear candy rip buddy was too nice
Man his life was cut WAY To short , can you imagine BIG next 3 albums would have sounded like plus the commission Album 😩🔥
INSTANT PLATINUM
Ready to Die
Life after Death
Til Death do Us Part
Born Again
The Commission
That's what was the plan...
@@three3thou plus the commission album after life after death makes 3 🔥🔥🔥
He had minimum 7 or 8 singles on that album
HYPNOTIZE, MO MONEY, NOTORIOUS THUGS, F**K YOU TONIGHT, SKYS THE LIMIT, MISS YOU, I LOVE THE DOUGH,
That’s a fact
BIG had that "water flow" in that he seemed to shrink-wrap his thoughts around the tracks, which kept him from being predictable. Lotta MC's have signature flows. BIG's flows lent themselves to however the tracks sounded. Dude was pure awesomeness 🎤👑🙌
Exactly... Big was ill...I always had to defend him against the corny, lame backpack rap fans who said he was basic or simple. They don't really understand flows and lyricism. Big was better than any technical nerd rapper they named.
@K G "Big was better than any technical nerd rapper they named."

@Jasiel Bey I know you slow, but check it pac knew who set him up from day one, he was going there to do a verse with lil Shawn and Jimmy henchman was going to pay him, jimmy henchmen got him robbed.
Incredible how you put this together Angie big up
Big’s flow was like a instrument fr. Undeniable.
Biggie was making movies, crazy visual metaphors!!
Crazy Pedo & gay metaphors
I watch scarface classic brillant video smile and wonder why these two brothas pac and big went through that young non sense. I'm a year or two older than them brothas. I lived that Era. In LA. and it's just sad. Imagine if those brothas would have lived. Matured. Pac was super loyal and betrayl was a part of the 7 sins to him .he thought big didn't "warn him" big had nothing to do with it really . These kats were soooo young looking back. Godspeed pac and big. Both their albums are classic timeless.
Good job Angie with Interviews
Big warned him, as well as Mike Tyson, who hung out with all the roughest and elite thugs, about hanging out with Haitian Jack (who set him up with the fake rape charge), and Henchmen (who got him jumped cause Pac went off on him on the phone about the 7K cash he was supposed to pay him for the feature he was on the way to and Jimmy was trying to play him, so he was on you extort all these NY niggas, you not extorting me and Pac went to the studio strapped). Not only did Pac not listen when told, he went back and asked Jack why his man said not to hang out with him. Big could have been killed off rip by him doing that. I wouldn't warn him, living after that knowing went back and told dude. But i'm 100 percent sure Big would have told him regardless. Pac didn't want folks to know what went down, it happens, nothing to be ashamed of, he had his life. They were told to rough him up for the disrespect and leave the Rolex on Haitian Jack gave him, Pac pulled out the heaters. And his man told him in the hospital they stashed the guns for him cause he had enough legal going on and didn't need more charges (which was why he was mad Jimmy wasn't giving him cash as agreed), Pac was like, but I just gave a Vibe interview. And there you have it, two young as hell, best at their craft, Pacs love for his people globally, Bigs for his people, bringing them up, getting them signed, keeping them out of the drug game and sheltering them. The women, oh well. If I was Pac I would have had my head on a swivel and trusted anyone either, but he knew, for a fact, Big was the last one that would do anything to him. People also don't know Jack and Jimmy had a music thing and Pac dealt with them for some reason.
We missed you Big. A jealous Hater took my man out.Not Forgotten.True Legends never Die.

I wonder what the last episode title will be. I predict either: Mo Money, Mo Problems, since that somewhat encompasses the time...maybe You'll Nobody (until somebody kills you) or even possibly Miss U
Likely Mo Money
The last track
First off, Angies leg game is so serious right now, we need more zoom out shots of that. Mr. Kent is giving me kanye i'm nervous and confused vibes, on some "George Busch doesn't care about black people."
Clark was right about Big going at Nas on "Kick In The Door" but he couldn't really explain it. The 3rd verse was going straight for Ghost & Rae...and a little bit for Nas.🤣
He also had a couple of bars for Nas on victory
He also went at Jeru Da Damaja, because he took offense to "Ya Playing Yourself."

Yea. Vibe interview and mtv awards interview to name a few times where tupac said his beef was the false sense of security and BIG ending communication. The timing of Who Shot Ya was definitely exploiting the situation. Hit em up was its response. Against all odds was for those responsible in quad studios shooting.

Only a King could land on that sample correctly. The sample is doing one thing and the drums is doing something else. Nash is a beast! I can't believe Biggie went to watch Casino before laying those vocals. I definitely agree with Cease Nobody at 24 now is doing what B.I did that's why he's my GOAT mannn i miss bigg i remember when ready to die came out me and my uncle walked to the inner harbor in Baltimore where we from in a snow blizzard and brought the ready to die cassette tape and had our boom box bumping it walking back home that's when sam goodies was still open and one of our favorite songs on there was the what with method Man. R.I.P BIGG WE MISS YOU
I miss going to that store, memories.
8 episodes is just too short to cover al the testimonials from the people he worked with and was close to from Puff, Jay-Z, Mary J, Kim, Faith, Nas, all the producers, 112, Ma$e, everyone. I guess we'll never know but thanx for revealing an aspect of who he was.

These BIG Iconic record interviews/breakdowns of the songs are incredible!! Angie Martinez.. We LOVE YOU for this! We've always loved you obviously, but this platform is incredible. While listening to Pusha T(from my town..Represent! used to live in his hood, real talk) describe Biggie's raps as a Collage of rhymes, i had to step back and think WOW..OMG that's exactly how I've always thought about his bars too. That & everything else he was sayin was the most apt description of Biggie's style and finesse. Raw talent, skills and WAYYY ahead of his time..in his early 20's!! R.I.P. to The Notorious B.I.G.🙌🙌❤ The greatest to ever do it. King of NY and Hip Hop.. Hands down my favorite too. We miss and love you brother❤
Pac never said Biggie set him up! He said Biggie knew who did it and didn’t tell him
It don't matter... Because Pac knew who he had beef w and who shot him before and directly after it happened. This crazy notion that somehow Big is guilty for not telling him what happened is undermined by the fact that Pac cut Big Stretch off for telling him Jimmy Henchman said "get ur money up before you can go to war w me" aka telling him what happened but pac called that "realaying info from his enemies 😂 smh. Keep it real... Pac thought he could scapegoat Big and make it look like he was handling business by getting at rappers meanwhile the dudes who touched him was sitting back laughing

His first album only had 1 feature Method Man plus he wrote the entire Junior Mafia Album and also wrote 90 percent of Lil Kim first album
