What I like about the secret boss is that, unlike Jevil, he actually made an emotional impact on Kris, not the player, but actually the normal Kris. Is one of the few chances we have to see Kris being someone without the player, and seeing them nervous and scared after the battle, with Susie and Ralsei comforting them makes me want to see what Toby will prepare for us in the next chapters, specially the secret bosses. Oh, now that I remember, I wonder what actually is the Shadow Mantle Seam mentions. I wonder if you have to find it in chapter 2, or chapter 3. (Also, sorry if I misspelled some words)
@@jacksonsartwell8757 Seam says clearly that basically every secret boss we defeat will reward us with shadow crystals, so yeah. Maybe the shadow crystals unlock a good ending, but for now I can't think of any other possibility, mostly because of the lack of information we have with only 2 chapters of the game.
All the Extra bosses also have some sort of connection to Gaster. I hope he won't have a big role in the story but will at least be an Extra boss at some point.
@@rainydeestar The Shadow Mantle will work with the next secret boss as stated by Seam, so I think it's a defensive item or armor that will grant immunity to a special attack this secret boss will have. Maybe it's related to the Player soul? Since we fight Spamton Neo with the yellow soul abilities, maybe we'll also see another soul color next time.

Something I've noticed is both Secret Bosses seem to have something to do about freedom. Jevil wants to break out of his cell and let the world free, whilst Spamton wants to cut his strings (first figuratively, then literally,) and find freedom in his hayday glory. A bit furthermore, both share the flavor text about the air crackling with Freedom.
@@pirilon78 Yeah, it's not too hard to no-hit. All of the patterns are predictable. IMO the very first boss is actually harder lmao, with all the nonsense they throw at you. Speaking of that boss tho the attacks seem to be basically ripped straight from Touhou. There's a boss in Touhou 14 with very similar looking bullet sprites. This game has a lot of examples of that, like the Werewires being very similar to one of Cirno's patterns in EoSD.

As a man who has completed both pepis and pacifist run of Deltarune Chapter 2, I can say with full clarity that [The Smooth Taste Of] NEO is pretty sweet
When I was getting to do Spamton's quest, the hardest part was doing that mini game turning off the force field and not die getting back. I died more times to this than taking 4 tires to win against Spamton Neo.
The “big shot” voice lines you made for this sound very Sonic Rush like, which I adore considering spamtons theme sounds like a sonic rush boss track lol Absolutely fantastic work Nick, it keeps the charm of the original track while adding a nice funky flair!
Glitches? A shop owner? Hints to greater lore? Secret Boss fight harder than jevil and what is essentially a true official Mettaton Neo Genocide fight? New favorite Deltarune character. Bar non. And this song and all the remixes are more proof. Good job once again.
As the Extra boss, he's actually easier than Jevil, because you can still make progress without your whole party. Also most of his patterns only have one source of bullets, which makes them easier to dodge. As the Genocide boss tho he is much harder than Jevil because you only get one party member, so there's no real room for mistakes. I'd put the difficulty below only Sans.

I really like Spamton's boss fight, there are many references, mostly Mettaton, but you can hear Jevil's theme playing because he is also like Jevil, an insane secret boss corrupted by something outside of their fountain world. Heck, one of Spamton's attacks feels like it references the vs 3 Jevils as Spamton launch 3 hearts with 3 different attack patterns
I have been thinking about it, and it’s more probable that the part that sounds like “Jevils theme” is actually part of the theme of something bigger, like a final boss or something

Dude it's a meme! To some killing robots on a movie, they at beginning were at Neo mode and when they get defeated they transform from neo mode to EX mode and EX mode usually never worked well and the robots do a exploded!

Gotta say. This guy isnt too hard if you're fighting him with a team of three. Easier than Jevil, even. As Kris only in the Snowgrave route, though? Yeah, hes a beast, far harder than Jevil when you"re fighting 1 on 1. Kris, no matter how much stronger youve gotten him to be still dies in like 4 hits. Its also way more intense, too. Especially with the fountain in the background.

Dude it's a meme! To some killing robots on a movie, they at beginning were at Neo mode and when they get defeated they transform from neo mode to EX mode and EX mode usually never worked well and the robots do a exploded!

Gotta say. This guy isnt too hard if you're fighting him with a team of three. Easier than Jevil, even.
As Kris only in the Snowgrave route, though? Yeah, hes a beast, far harder than Jevil when you"re fighting 1 on 1. Kris, no matter how much stronger youve gotten him to be still dies in like 4 hits. Its also way more intense, too. Especially with the fountain in the background.
