This was very helpful. I have Narrow Angle Glaucoma and am seeing an ophthalmologist in June to be assessed for Laser Iridotomy. My eye dr said the ophthalmologist can monitor its progression but I think I just want to get it done. The thought of going blind scares the F outta me.
My eye doctor suggested the Laser surgery done. He didn't want to dilate my eye due to potential angle closure. I got the surgery done. In my last eye exam, Eye Doctor was able to dilate
Thank u so much.... Ur Channel is literally saving my medical life...whenever the starting music plays on... I feel like "" yeee!!!!! Finally going to understand! """"""
This happened to me! It was scary, now that I could see again watching an explanation about this is really interesting. To anyone studying this to be an eye doctor, you’re doing great! The eye doctors helped me get my vision back and I am forever thankful
This is really awesome. I mean brilliant! I went to your site and it's really thorough. Such difficult topics made easy. Thanks a lot for making it easier for us budding doctors! 😊
I developed narrow angled glaucoma as a result of HCTZ or a simple diuretic. If a patient suffers from a sudden onset of narrow angled glaucoma, please ask their doctor if they are currently taking any diuretics, and if they are...get them off the drug immediately!
Thank you! Very helpful. I'm studying the drugs used in the treatment of these conditions and your summary of the medications used was beneficial to me.
I've been taking an antidepressant and it makes my eyes fatigued more quickly than before, but other than that my base vision remains the same. Is that considered glaucoma?
Laser iridotomy seemed to work for me in the first year, but then I was diagnosed with another type of glaucoma which laser will not help... How many types of glaucoma are there???
