Problem with these are mics pick up from the front of the mic. If you used figure 8 polar pattern might work for rear reflections. But they work better if there's some treatment behind the vocalist as sound will bounce from walls behind vocalist and back into the front of the mic. Btw i have this exact isolation ball i got for free from Amazon. My room is treated but i still use it for when I use figure 8 or Omni
HONEST TAKE: Let's be serious. This is not going to act like a vocal booth or even a closet in any way. I would recommend it as an addition but NOT as a solution. If you already have treatment on your floor, your walls, and maybe something else to help with noise rejection, this only adds to helping, but NOT solving.
Sorry to say that but the porpuse of these isolation balls is to sing directly into the the microphone inside the ball (lips touching the pop filter) so this video is non representative of the real world case scenario for this type of product.
