That's cool you took time to sign that hat and talk to those guys, even when you were working/filming. Speaks to your good character!
Not only do you you provide excellent information, but fan interaction says a ton about your character.... Awesome 👍👍 i
I appreciate that!
The thing I'm most impressed with is you didn't make excuses or blame the elements. That's why they call it fishing. A fan here and I appreciate you posting this with your honest evaluation.
tbh I learned a lot. It makes me feel so much better about hard days on the water. Seeing a pro have a similar situation is calming
U caught one more than everyone who's sitting on the couch too scared of the tough conditions. Every day on the lake is better than anything else
Agree!
I say that all the time cant catch fish from the couch lol
That's just wintertime fishing all day for one bite.Nice fish though thanks for the ride along.Merry Christmas to you and your family .You are a class act Jason tight lines
Great video on what I call real winter time fishing with winter time water temperatures. I've been fishing water temperatures from 35 to 38 degrees and it sucks. I'm glad you caught one. Come on spring.
Stopped fishing to sign a cap… how much does that say
Thanks Jason. I have had plenty of days freezing my butt off were 1 keeper would have warmed me up.
Thanks for freezing yours off and any info you can share. You sure like those Rouges.
Thanks Jason showing it's not just me that has tough days this time of year
Happens to all of us
We've all had those days winter fishing.Merry Christmas
Good video. We've been until last week. Froze over now. But thanks for doing some real wintertime fishing. Most guys call 50 degrees winter time.
Still throws the old school Rogue. Love it!
Thanks for coming to my home lake
Great cameo from two of the best crappie fishermen in the country! 👏👏👏👊
The cold water challenge , Love it Thanks Jason
I live/fish in the north east and our lakes freeze over in the winter. 39 degree water means there is only a few weeks or days left to fish. It's one of the most predictable times to fish and the bass tend to group up. The deepest water and sharpest drops are generally best. Depends a lot on forage, Alewife lakes will have fish on classic structure. Perch lakes often have bass out on deep flats relating to the Perch.
First time watching this guy. Subscribed. Good stuff.
Thanks!
As always great vid! Thanks for keeping it honest, anyone can tell you what to do in 39 degree water while there in the house, on the waters a different story. I fished yesterday in Michigan 38 degree water and cracked’em, jerkbait, jig and crank. The crankbait was the deal slowly bumping bottom. Last trip out till probably March. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Class Act!!
Great video thanks for your time to help us all with your tips.
Great to see reality instead of 3 days filming to make a video. Appreciate you!!! I enjoyed the video.
Thanks. How it goes sometimes.
"It only took four hours, but we got a bite!" lol
I enjoyed the video. This is a tough time of the year for me. Thanks for your explanation of what you look for. That was so awesome that you took the time to talk to the guys and autograph the hat. That is what makes you one of the best out there.
Thanks. Gotta take care of the people that support me
South East tx Florida strain and usually every year once the water hits 59 and below it is an absolute war to get a bite here. Currently sitting at 49 visibility 3"-9"
I’m from Lawton Oklahoma. Fishing has been real tough.
We just had a small tourney there last Sunday. Pretty good fishing. 13 boats took 15 plus on 3 fish. Tourney was 3 fish limit and there were 4 11.5 lbs bags caught. I didn’t see much fish at all off the bottom. Our biggest was 5.5 came off a a rig in 25ft off the bottom.
What lake
Even the pros have tough days
Awesome video! Gained a subscriber!
Thanks!
Wish there was more you could teach to us bank beaters!
I've been trying and trying to get a bass in the winter. I've watched this video and others over and over again to boost up my confidence and gain more knowledge but every time i go out, i fail. I dont have a boat so im just bank fishing so i know thats a huge reason why. So what are some things i could look for or target if I'm just fishing from the shore on a pretty pressured lake with 25-35 degree water temps?? Most or all of the lakes by me are pretty pressured i would say. I mean i have a general idea of what to look for but because i dont have the electronics to really get out there and such, so I'm pretty limited to where i can get to.
Fish super slow in those temps. I doubt you are doing anything wrong, winter fishing is just tough when water is in 30s or below.
Looks like spavinaw! I’ve only been there once and it treated me almost the same.
It is...
Now that's the winter fishing I'm used to in Missouri 40 or lower I've learned to fish in slow motion if you think your fishing slow go slower
They’ll be 30-40 on Toledo and Rayburn when it’s that cold
Merry Christmas to you and yours.👍👍👍👍👍
Same to you!
Great work… wish you luck for new season
Thanks
I really like winter fishing here in Tennessee. Great tips. What are your ideas on fishing underwater springs? We have a lot of them here, and they will almost always be warmer than the rest of the lake. Also, feeder creeks.
I’m in eastern TN n fish chick n occasionally nickajack. What area of TN are you in??!
@@christophersinopoli9293 mostly Percy Priest, Center Hill, Douglas, Watts Bar, Ky and Barkley Lakes
Great video man. Merry Christmas
Thanks! You too
I've caught my biggest fish in cold weather.wwith ice in the water
Nice!
Love the chrome and blue in cold winter months. Would you ever throw a clown rogue over the chrome/blue in dirtier water?
Yes
Hey J.....I saw that knot on that Trap lure......what knot do you tie ? Also Jason your videos are Fantastic.....the content and editing is great 👍
Double improved cinch. Thanks for your support!
Is there a healthy population of threadfin Shad in there? Seems like a shad kill would prevent that if it consistently gets that cold.
Who is this guy? He’s good, and that video was awesome.
Thanks
At 39.6°f water is as dense as it can get . Any colder than that it starts to expand to form ice . If it didn't expand then ice wouldn't float and the world would freeze over . Fish are the least active when the water is at that temperature but if it gets colder they will begin to bite more . I once caught 24 spotted bass over six pounds in the month of January in cold muddy water that was 34° down to 20 feet and and 35° down to the bottom . I caught those spots on a bright orange jig with an uncle josh #11 pork chunk at a depth between 20 and 35 feet deep . The only way I could get them to bite was to cast out in 20 feet of water and fish down . I fished so slow it took one hour to make 4 casts . I reeled the line in using my thumb to spool the line in making the jig barely move . It was good for 4 bass a day over 6 usually and once I managed to catch 10 (extremely hard to do) . I usually had less than then ten bites per day and I would usuallly miss a good number of bites but that is winter fishing . So my advice on winter fishing is start off slow and then get slower .
Cool story bro
When the water gets cold do you or most the people on here pick up a one knocker lipless? Seems to work better here on KY lake where I live.
If there is grass it is hard to beat
Spavinaw???!
Oologah?
No. That’s my home lake and there’s not any docks on it except up around red bud that’s owned by the corps. This looks like Spavinaw
How deep does that jerk bait dive??
10 ft or so
I know where you were.
Nice screen! 👎👎👎👎
