5:55 I had an idea to make the older Element Damage increase 20% to also lower the active skill cooldown of said element by 20% to make them more attractive to use.
I feel like I run non-STAB attacks too often to bother with the elemental traits, so I haven't tested this to see how it pans out, but my understanding is that the elemental trait bonuses are applied directly to final outgoing damage, not during the base damage calculation. Could be interesting to test in a future video just to see what the difference is, if you haven't already.
yeah, back at launch there was talk about how the elemental passives calculated damage differently and so would give you a greater damage boost compared to generic damage passives. that was also before we had a lot of the better moves we have now, and back when the hardest content was paladius/necromus, so going full monotype could make some sense. nowadays it's almost mandatory to run op burst on everything so monotype builds just don't make as much sense outside select cases.
this is why I struggled so much with that Selyne boss fight. Holy Burst is insane. I think they should buff the elemental passives to 50% for the specific element
This series is great for me to learn what pals are the best (which I really needed) just wonder if frostalion noct is in the same tier as theses combat pals you have shown and if so how would you build it?
As he said in the video, the dark pals are great shadow beak bella noir frost noct, but there are not many bosses for them to beat up since most of the last game boss pals are either dragon or dark. So, yeah forstallion noct is one of the best mounts in the game since you get a 40% player damage and conversion amp just like on regular frostallion but for ice, and unike other mounts that only give a 20% damage boost and conversion. It is also a great pal to just put the four best combat passives on, but like he said it is either weak or not effective against the majority of the other late game battles and dark is a very crowded typing with many other great dark pals that are just as good or better.
Love the content. Any chance you can go over rewards of expeditions (including hard mode)? Wanna see if doing them/researching better rewards and speed is worth it. Also I am really hoping the dog coin one is worth it (for like the fruits and last pal level condensing.
I got like 15 dog coin per expedition so not a lot. I think I have all the research for the expeditions done as well. Best one is dark cave of feybreak seemingly.
Only two caves that are worth it is Dark cave of feybreak and hard mode snow with the pal souls and lotus, even then after you max your character with the lotus dark cave becomes the best.
Question... would an army of selyenes with the new thing be worth using vs bosses? Like just having 30 selyenes all with holy burst vamp? Though i recall vs the new raid my old set of seleyenes (albeit they dont all have even lv 30 souls buffs yet let alone the 60) are unable to survive at all vs the new boss. But what about if i gave them proper souls and the new traits? Would they work as a catch all anti raids thing for long term? Or am i better off using a different pal army? Im not super in need of doing the hard modes that much of the raids though ive done all the towers, i just need to be able to easily beat the normal mode of the newest boss but dont wanna dpend my whole life rebreeding
Selyne is not a good raid pal, Holy Burst and Air Blade are available as skill fruits so it is better to use stronger base pals with better elements for resistance.
@ProfessorPenking 2 questions then. I've heard this game similar to pokemon does stab where moves of same type do more (and plus seylene gets more damage off neutral) so i was wondering if that's true. Also who would be the best catch all base pal if I dont wanna spend the rest of my life breeding pals and rebreeding every time a new boss raid happens?
I plan on making a Selyne next since they made it more accessible to breed. Will probably end up placing celestial emperor over demon god since the game actively refuses to let me find that trait at this point.
Try catching Gobfins for it, that's how I ended up getting it. And Gobfin can be easily bred with Chillet or Croajiro to get Yakumo to make it easier to get on any Pal you want.
@@Coltiwaka the Digimon's name is "IceLeomon" (JP: Panjyamon), to be specific... and yeah, Bastigor does kind of resemble it a bit. I look at it as a cross between IceLeomon for its overall stature, typing, and coloration... and the Pokemon Zoroark with its mane and limbs. still awesome regardless
How do you even have the time to build and test all of these stuff while making progress in the game and recording videos like PocketPair paid you to be a representative for the game?
Wich pal is the best for moonflower, feybreak and the raid bosses i dont want to have to breed a ton of different pals. Is it jormjntide ignis or someone else sorry if you put it in a different video
Whats your take on breeding combat Pals right now, considering that there seemed to be a hint in the code about a possibly better T4 upgrade to Serenity incoming? Do you think it's likely that this will be implemented (and thus, all current breeds become "imperfect" again) or do you think we are more likely to get Serenity boosted to T4? To me it seems kind of risky or a waste of time to breed if we dont know for certain we will have to go through it all for a 3rd time
If you breed perfect now you enjoy the game with them. Then if they add a new tier you already have a head start in breeding having copies of the other perfect passives. So it’s totally worth it in my opinion.
Then don't. For me the fun is making then seeing the result of all that breeding. Each Strong but imperfect combat pal can still be reliably used for raids unless your going for perfection/ultras.
I saw a reddit post today talking about a pal operation table and showed its description (which we did see in one of the recent trailers) it allows you to change the passive skills and gender of a pal, don't know how reliable that information is but it could be good for keeping raid armies up to date with new skills.
ive bred more than 18000 bastigors, still havent gotten a single good skill like demon god, muscle head, etc. two BLANK bastigors with nothing on them (so not carrying over anything bad) and it just refuses to get any good skills. havent even seen a ferocious. this is why people keep the bad skills like ice emperor and such, because THOUSANDS of hours of breeding now and i dont even have one with two good skills.
This is why Selyne is my fav. Even some smaller pals don't stand a chance if you slightly offset Holy burst
5:55 I had an idea to make the older Element Damage increase 20% to also lower the active skill cooldown of said element by 20% to make them more attractive to use.
great idea
oh, i like this idea a lot
yeah that would at least make them more competitive, or maybe would at least.
Wait hold up… Are you saying the elemental passives gave skill cooldown to those specific elements?
@SeanTheGreat119 As a buff, yes.

Blazamut Ryu: "DEMONETIZE HIM, WHAT THEY DID TO ME WAS A CRIME!!"
Ragdoll physics at its silliest, let's see if anyone else noticed...
Thanks bro I love Selyne
Oops, didn’t get far enough into the video before asking a dumb question.. my bad.
Tried a Raid Party full of Selyne; and my screen just effing exploded. The 15 Holy Bursts are too much. XD
Best way to beat Ryu is jorumtide Innis with holy, cutter, and wall splash. Seeing all those bursts pop off causes a big of lag haha
@vincentwilkes1955 Ryu and Bastigor is faster. Higher damage + no fps drops.

Amazing. Gonna breed mine immediately
food is multiplicative % value, godfins and passives is additive % value

@adamzirkle3970 been trying that, got 4 max level Gobs now and still nothing.
is it true that Star Mine can be bred down? it doesn't say it's an exclusive skill anymore
It can't, they forgot the text.
@@ProfessorPenking ah, I see
That damage is pretty crazy. Doesn't holy burst do less damage to dark units? You still melted Victor.
Neutral is not super effective against anything, but it is also not resisted by anything. So it deals regular damage vs Dark.
@ProfessorPenking Thank you!
Why didnt i notice that Bastigor is blue Leomon until now....
who

ooh, i thought Selyne can only breed wit itself
was the case before Feybreak
@DanYami Good to know,
Its breeding time, I been lazy to breed 1 with all the Fighting Passive.
Can Selyne learn dark whips?
You need to breed for it.
What about Muscle-head vs 30% dmg boost like Eternal Flame, Siren of Void, etc as well as does Invader stack with Siren of the Void?
How do you even have the time to build and test all of these stuff while making progress in the game and recording videos like PocketPair paid you to be a representative for the game?
Was your team full of hoocrates'? Why use Hoocrates instead of cremis if you're just using neutral attacks?
It boosts attack power, not element power.
Is Vampiric one of the passives I should go for? I was running Serenity, Legend/Impatient, Musclehead, Demongod
Ehh my personal opinion is that it’s good for long battles for survivability but for pure dps it’s not something you need
Would dark wisp be a good skill on her too?
Wait, you can breed for Selyne? Oh my god I need to get one
How does one get dark whisp onto Selyne?
Could you try it again with cremis since they boost neutral which is holy burst and air blade.
It boots normal pal not damage, so it's the same with dark pal boots from the owel
they boost the attack power, so all attacks get boosted not just the element.
@@ProfessorPenking hmm interesting, I thought it got another buff from being the same damage type it was casting

T4 serenity + serenity would be insane dps
Shame I simply don't have demon god but I do have vampire.
Why serenity/impatient? Doesn't that only affect special skills? Like the mini gun or flamethrower
Not too sure what you're asking, but Serenity and Impatient affect the active skills that pals use, not their partner skill.

2x damage doesn’t apply unless you’re mounted on the pal. So, not well haha
