Funny how in my play throughs they often just straight up die when they beef with the Cinnamoths, they often bite off more than can chew and gets swarmed so hard and fast, it's hilarious, one time I managed to find a camp completely vacant of FPA because they got wiped by the local wildlife, they're just straight up butt in terms of strength as a faction, annoying but they ain't too dangerous.
-The Sake tastes bad. -Selyne arrives. -The Sake tastes good. I think Selyne just blew up the guy that was switching out Saya's top of the shelf stuff for cheap Vodka. 🤣
The scarier part is she says the Sake tastes good when she's writing about your arrival. She's been drinking herself numb to deal with the boredom. She's looking forward to you ending her torment. I feel the speech from Nathan Copeland from No More Heroes: "This is it! This is what I been prayin' for! I'm weary of this gilded world! All glitter! No soul... Save me from sorrow, Crownless King! Thy sword, and thy wrath, will deliver me."
Yeah, they should really have them throw pal spheres at them. For gameplay reasons, have them using basics and unable to capture pals. But for lore reasons, they really should be shown to be attempting capture.
@saurianwatcher4437 They use electric arrows, things used to stun Pals and make them easier to capture, so they probably are trying to capture them but are just really bad at it and may see the Palspheres as too inhumane. Y'know, despite pelting them with shock arrows and killing them by accident.
I would love a proper palworld anime to be made. It would go SO hard, especially if they put the proper dark spin on it that fits so naturally to this game
@geraldyeager7652 😮 This, I like this. Outside of being another money generator, it's an absolute waste to not witness even a mere semblance of this come to fruition. I appreciate your contribution! 💪🤓
Pals eat human corpses in game genetic manipulation. Gender swapping (in case you get two male jetagarn) dark magic pal incest , human pal bonding wink wink for the furrys slavery sacrifice pal souls to make your pals stronger multiple factions with eschewed ideology that shoot on sight quicker than fallout raiders if I missed anything let me know
@unhappygoldfish6424 I hope they do a good job. I think it would be hard to mess up a good story taking place in an Anachronic Pocket Dimension involving warring factions from different points in time.
Lily- nature enthusiasts blind to her own actions Drayten- drug overlord who made his partner a literal crack head Victor- evil mad scientist ( don’t like him at all or the drug dude) Axel- brothers from other mothers with his partner and likes to dance he probably the coolest 1 Saya- desprate and wants to get out of a endless loop of tradition even if it costs her own life Zoe- girl who needs therapy badly and actually good parents Bjorn- a old traditionalist who is a nice guy meets well but can’t see the bigger picture but is key on what he wants Player - a nessasary person to try and free the island and the people from this prison and take out the threat doing this to them all(I’m not violent and try to murder everyone with a gun but other people really seem like villains when they play this game) Honestly thanks for the lore I didn’t know what was happening
The unfortunate truth is that violence is the nature of the game given the Palsphere's ability to induce sanity and affinity towards whoever holds the sphere when the majority of Pals are acquired through violence and forced to commit violence to advance the story. I'd love to see a pacifist run, but that explicitly forces you to not advance the story cause there's no peaceful way to defeat the tower bosses even if there is an at least not explicit way to obtain ancient pal technology with expeditions.
@ well I mean when I play I’m going to try doing eggs cause that ain’t violence unfortunately you can’t befriend the pals the best thing to do is to free them from poachers, get eggs, or catch them and be nice and treat them well to make up for the violence or just use a pal sphere without hurting them as for the bosses violence is the only way hopefully they make a a way to peacefully befriend the bosses for a trial battle to get rid of the tower
Lily: The Free Pals Organization will protect all Pals. My noobie ass of less than an a week: Okay, explain your goons casually shooting Cinnamoths every time I see them.
I’m a die hard Pokémon fan, but it’s not palworlds fault they created a game 100% better then any Pokémon released after the 3DS. Legends Arceus was peak. But I like the survival / pal world mechanics much better, especially then Scarlet & Violet and Legends ZA
i especially like how jumping and climbing aren't pal/pokemon locked. A lot of pokemon games reserve jumping, climbing, flying for other pokemon. But for palworld you're able to do those things with a pal.
I find it nice that with Bjorns notes we have a callback to the early game teasers with the city in the sky that players could never find ingame, so the idea hasn't been scrapped but instead the teaser showed a distant past, after the teaser the calamity struck, the sky city crashed (i guess part of it is the ruined 'city' on the southern slope of the snowey mountain and mt. Obsidian, because those structures don't seem to have been built but rather slammed into the ground at weird angles) and the apparent extinction of the only species that actually decomposed instead of just vanishing after defeat, the sky whales.
I did a bunch of the lore speculation in this video and I was trying to figure out if Bjorn's ancestors were being literal about them "falling from the heavens" and stuff. I think you honestly nailed it and I would love if this were true because it'd tie in the promotional material in a super neat way!
im thinking its still up there and the towers are the supports/ gateways. they said the towers are foundations and im thinking literal because they still beam up to the sky
@shaymic20what if, the actual castle crashed, and something else took its place? Like a giant Meteor full of those Xeno pals, and they only start showing on land without any real damage to the surroundings after you start to unlock the towers, meaning they would be falling from high enough to cause friction with the air, but not enough to cause a giant crater. The first meteorite encounter is close to Zoe's tower too, on a clearing overlooking the Azurlobe field boss and only show up after you get the tower fast travel point.
Also if Bjorn's ancestors were fighting the final boss and called themselves "Feybreak" it stands the reason the final boss is a fae. Perhaps something akin to the Tuatha Dé Danann? Or given Bjorn's Nordic theming, an elf, dwarf, ice giantf or... flame giant? Frostallion's role would make the most sense with that last one.
I havent finished, but Axel isn't the missing Alex who pulled an Anagram. Its implied that the missing Alex is the key ingredient in the success of creating Shadowbeak.
Video finished now, I don't agree that the Calamity was the Xenos. Jetdragon, is the supersonic dragon. It was originally sent here, but was naturalized by palworld. And he was not sealed away. The Xenos sent Jetdragon, he failed to conquer, Xenolord is the new big guy in town to start the next invasion. That's just my theory.
@andypants1062 Yeah, looking at Jetdragon alone makes it kind of obvious that he is one of the alien too. he probably suffered either a change of heart (if something like that is possible for them) or memory loss when he reached Palpagos. That is why he helped fighting the big bad evil in Bjorns Journal entrys.
@andypants1062 Yet, Xenolord's objective is to eliminate the supersonic dragon, so I do not think it is here to conquer just yet. But to eliminate the traitor that is Jetragon for a later invasion.
Lily isnt advocating equality. Her precepts demand that people risk their lives to protect pals, but not that pals risk their lives for people. This is not equality. This is pal superiority.
on the surface the ideology seems to be about pal equality but the one commandment that utterly changes that is you must risk your life to protect pals. from there it shows the ideolgies true face as you say its an ideology that sees pals as beng superior to humans and portrays humanity's existance being soley as a servant to pals. lily is also as seen a misanthropist who dispises her own kind. take note being a misanthropist does not require you to hate yourself.
Just because you risk your life for Pals doesn't mean you or anyone is advocating for Pal superiority or equality or that humans are meant to be servants to Pals, that's such a foolish thing to think. All Lily is advocating for is what most people do for animals in real life minus the whole not eating them where as we say you only eat ones that are food animals (except for some people and cultures who eat ones you shouldn't and those who say you shouldn't eat any) and most people in the world would risk their lives for an animal/s and do risk harm and their life for theirs or someone else's animal/s. That doesn't mean those who do are servants to animals or are advocating for them to be superior or even equal just that they have rights and should be respected and treated well just like anyone else but are still below us. Now Lily might think or believe that Pals are above humans herself but her rules for the FPA does not mean that or really even suggest that either, to say and act like it does makes no sense when most people use most of those rules in real life and most do not believe or think doing so means any of that which it doesn't. Your mixing up a perceived idea of something that maybe one or a few characters have with what words and those rules mean none of those rules or words used the way they are mean any of those things
That Nintendo lawsuit is just them being petty af. I've never seen Nintendo sue for basically pocket change and they patented mechanics they didn't even invent.
sadly some people legit think that Nintendo invented all of their mechanics, its similar to how WoW did not invent MMO's either, its like one big game makes it big in a genre and starts acting like they the first ones to do said genre
They are gonna get called out eventually and start panicking cuz they'll get sued for like corruption etc then other start saying things AND then they make some apology just to sue a5 yr old for having a Pikachu cake for their birthday
It made Palworld get rid of the aiming cross-hairs which make it extremely difficult to aim now. It sucks and companies like Nintendo are nothing but a drain on creativity since they have none and then go after those like Pocketpair who actually give us what we want.
I feel like after the tree expansion, Pocketpair has a few different avenues to keep the game going. Like not giving us the big baddie the game has been building up to and instead using the tree being a gateway to the heavens, so we can travel up to the stars to deal with the alien threat and maybe see a still living sky whale protecting the only part of the heavens not to fall. Then once the aliens are defeated we learn the big baddie is deep in the ocean, which we could get to through the roots of the tree. This is just as an example, but Pocketpair could definitely keep this going
The world tree going by norse mythology. Is a massive tree that has a whole world in each branch. I say once you conquer the world tree. You unlock the ability to travel to other worlds. Essentially infinitely expanding pal world's potential. Yes some norse sources say there are 9 worlds but thats ppl reading the sagas wrong. The world tree has a world for every branch. its just 9 or so are the only ones named. At its face. I say you can use this as an invasion/coop mechanic where players can cross into different players' instances and eventually they can choose a faction to take over their island and then command to invade other islands.
@ceresbaneiirc the world tree had a bunch of worlds, and the reason there were only 9 listed was because the Norse liked the number 9 and also used it as a way to say “a whole bunch”.
@PaulSirockythat's not the reason. The reason 9 is often quoted is because that's the most commonly known saga about the world tree. But in actuality it can be as high as 12 known named worlds or as some sagas say. Infinite countless branches with one world each.
So in an anime, Zoe, Lily, Saya and Bjorn would be the most likely candidates to join the main character after their defeat. Lily would be the most stubborn until shown what her people are actually doing. I can imagine Axel/Alex joining too, he just wants a rival and I can see Bjorn taking him and the mc under his wing. Marcus and Victor are definitely villains though, Marcus is in the drug trade and Victor is on Dr Hojo time. Imagine Marcus being defeated and after the gang leaves, Victor shows up with a squad and take him and Faleris to be experimented on, ending the episode with an eerie foreshadow of Shadowbeak's creation ala Mewtwo.
A Palworld anime would actually go hard. I could imagine Zoe, Lily, Axel, Saya and Björn all helping the MC in the final battle against the thing Björn mentioned in his journals. Then Björn sacrifices himself to kill the thing and says something like "After all those years... my ancestors are avenged!" The relationship of Zoe and Björn would be interesting too. Zoe asking more about her father and Björn feeling guilty about being the reason she grew up without a father. I'd watch it for sure.
I imagine Victor and Marcus working together since it feels like both profit off of each other. Victor gets all access to the Pals through Marcus and Marcus profits off of Lily's group to "Protect" the Pals that the Syndicate an Victor would capture. But I feel like the final Big Bad in the end is the Syndicate leader for how much control his faction has on the island with his ace up his sleeve being some sort of prophecy tablet that foretold all of these events and already acquired the macguffin to summon Pal god with him just waiting in a giant submarine for all the towers to be deactivated for him to activate his endgame plan.
Unfortunately Lily wouldn't join the player since the player uses pal spheres to capture pals which is something Lily is firmly against and she has a strong dislike for humans in general.
Another important thing to consider is the new Rampaging Pals. When listening to their song, it sounds terrifying and as if something is very wrong with them. Only to find out that the name of the song is "Discomfort from the Abyss"... what a strange name for song, making it seem as if rampaging pals are being possessed by something... If the "abyss" is a real place, then maybe the sealed calamity is stored there, stirring more and more, infecting the pals of the island.
and what if under the abyss is under the world tree and its roots are trying to contain it and towers are keeping everything sealed as a fail safe incase the tree fails
Thanks for the concise, well-put-together breakdown of the story so far! I've enjoyed Palworld and been rooting for it since it hit steam, and despite a few glances at the logs, never quite got around to piecing together the story for myself. This did a great job making me feel caught up on things!
The implication in Xenolord's description is pretty clearly that Jetragon was sent ahead of them to conquer the planet but went native instead. Jetragon has the same "wings" as Xenolord.
I hope in future updates we can have faction strongholds for us to raid like the Syndicate oil rigs. I like more structures for the different factions to add to the world building side. Currently it just feels like the other factions like the Brotherhood of the Pyre have nowhere to go and just happen to roam around and sleep at the foot of a volcano haha. It's very immersion breaking.
I wonder if the "Full Moon" is a giant alien moon or ship or something since it circles the earth unnaturally too. Maybe the real moon is either gone or somehow excluded by the mists
24:37 damn, you need more dedicated fans because i just realized like 80% of the views probably don't even know you're the same person that made that story, let alone the voice actor
I thought that lab assistant was somehow added into shadowbeak creation process, which would mean that pals creation require humans. Which could possibly also mean that all pals were somehow once humans. But that was just my theory. The game theory
* A Patent infringement for a patent that didn't exist before they sued them for it. How in the Cinnamon Toast F, can you make a patent after something else is out, then sue them for infringing on it? It's insane.
It's Japan - the same place that doesn't believe in Fair Use and Creative Commons. Every time a decent story developer starts working on a game, Nintendo either snatches them up and buries it forever or sues the bajeezus out of them to make it disappear. This is why we can't have nice things anymore.
And let’s not forget it’s for one of the most basic things ever… like this is so Petty even EA would be like “Bro Chill Out”… and on a hilarious ironic note if true EA APPARENTLY owns the rights to having a pinging system in your game… but they don’t enforce
damn, that Rob Sharp fella is what i call a Voice actor, so much feel, soul, heart! EVERYTHING! he's not just reading the lines, he is feeling them! reading them as it were born by himself!
Theres something interesting an Npc from feybreak says. That a pal emerged from the crystals and took and devoured his companions, he also mentions that the roars we hear when in Feybreak island is from that Pal.
This game has truly captured me more than I thought it would, and I'm so glad you put all the lore togeter in an easy way to consume it! When I tell people it's surprisingly deep, despite how little we have given it's early access, they don't believe me lol. Keep up the good work!
I don't think the alien invasion has taken millennia. The way I read Xenolord's Paldeck entry is that Jetragon was supposed to be the aliens' advance force, conquering the island for them. But instead of conquering the island, Jetragon naturalized and became its protector, and the aliens are now tasked with terminating their rogue asset. This seems particularly likely given that Jetragon, like the aliens, possesses seemingly mechanical parts, and how it has the same crystalline wings as Xenolord and Xenogard, just in a different color. There's also one question that is completely unanswered, which I feel is related to the Calamity, and that is the nature of the "abyss". Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero's entries describe how they sprung into existence in an effort to bring vengeance upon reality, and were banished to the abyss. While Astegon's entry describes that it was born of the abyss. Noteworthy here is that Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero are considered of Legendary rarity, where the other raid bosses are merely Epic.
It sounds more like lily wants pals to be greater than humans. Definitely more than just equal. She disgusts humans and thinks they exist to serve pals.
The Thunder Dragon- Jetdragon The Celestial Beings- Frostallion and Frostallion Noct. In Frostallion's Paldeck entry it says "In the past, when a calamity struck the land, it soared into the sky and sealed away the threat by casting the island into an eternal winter." Frostallion Noct is probably the black pegasus responsible for making it always nightime. We only see Frostallion in the game since "the black pegasus melted into the night and vanished." The Paladin- Paladius and Necromus. On their Pal entry, it says that they used to be one.
Knowing the mentality of scientists and the constant pursuit of the goal and ignoring social issues, Victor could simply have misspelled Axel's name. Axel probably stole Orserk from the lab he got involved with.
I will have you know that the, "patent infingement" that Palworld has only came about because Pokemon filed a patent AFTER Palworld was announced. Palworld existed BEFORE the patent, and in a U.S. court of law, that would NOT fly, and Palworld would be 100% safe. But considering they're in Japan where the, "old dog" gets priority even if they're WRONG, Palworld has an up hill battle right now against this patent trolling from Nintendon't.
@D3adCl0wn Yeah, not going to believe you. I'll check it out for myself when I get around to it. Besides that, it doesn't even matter if it's settle in court or not bro. It's still 100% a CRIMINAL patent troll on Nintendo's part. Nintendo made that patent AFTER Palworld was announced when they could have done it 20 years ago when they first MADE Pokemon, and not only that, but they STOLE it from Dragon Quest, so they don't even have claim to it in the first place. Besides, you say that they, "sEtTlEd It OuT oF cOuRt BrO", but technically, Palworld is STILL in, "violation" of it with their chatching mechanics, so it doesn't even matter if what you say is true, because Nintendo could atill go after Palworld. You still throw a spherical object to catch creatures in Palworld.... what was changed was SPAWNING your Pal and being unable to throw the ball anymore to RELEASE your Pal, NOT catch them, which the patent was actually about....
@tjpprojects7192 The patent infringed is this action sequence: Launch capture device> summon character> interact field objects/character. The catching mechanic is safe, that is NOT patented. Do you really want Pocketpair to keep incurring late fees or an injunction? When they can just simply capitulate on a NON-LOSS scenario and move on?
@D3adCl0wnSo basically you're saying that I've been lied to that it was the catching mechanic that was patented? Alright. I'm also not saying that Pocketpair shouldn't do what's best for themselves legally, I'm simply saying that it's still 100% a BS patent troll on Nintendo's part.
@tjpprojects7192 Some even say that it was the Pal spheres so I can't blame ya, a lot want to make content on drama and exaggerate and use surface level takes. But to Pocketpair's part, they can simply use the inverse of the unsummon animation so we can summon at a distance. The patent did specify "launching a device". The patent was 100% petty, but can you blame them? This mechanic is literally the only 'NEW' thing they got going for in Pokemon. Which they would likely use at large in Legends: Z-A.
My personal dream End Scenario would be all the Tower Bosses actually teaming up with you to take down whatever's in that Tree, but a Boss Rush sounds good too!
Not sure if this was a thing when these were posted but as of right now, if you go to specific places near the towers (I've only found Zoe at the church near hers) and if you do some quests for them you can get a special "pal" that is "Zoe and Grizzbolt" and have them on your party
I swear the conclusion on the potential lore has me thinking of Terraria, from the meteors not being seen by players until after they beat the first tower to the Xeno Pals being related to a calamity that Frostallion sealed away...
I don't think it's the Xenos that was the original calamity. Jetdragon was the original Xeno, who was naturalized, as shown in the Xeno paldex entries.
@andypants1062 That makes sense. Saw something that threw out the idea that jetdragon was sent to originally conquer, but ended up consuming the memories that involved it's mission directive somehow and became one of the islands protectors and an established deity before the events of the calamity.
Thank you for this video! It was very entertaining, especially since I have been waiting for at least ONE person to make an updated lore video on this game!
Feybreak, eternal winter and Bjorn's nordic theming all point to the calamity being a fire jötunn, specifically a pal based on Surtr (Norse fey are elves. dwarves and jötunn and we can outright rule out dwarves and if it was an elf, dark elf, moutain jötunn or frost jötunn, the eternal winter would make less sense). The sky splitting open? Bifrost.
It's funny that Lily Evehart's lines reminded me a lot of Ultrakill boss monologues, like Gabriel's "limbo, lust, all gone" thing and Minos Prime's last words.
What if the fog is tied to the towers? Since we cleared the towers the fog is slowly receding thats why we finally see the new islands(the dlc islands)!
So what you're saying is... Palworld is literally purgatory? Sort of like an afterlife of eternal conflict. Not strictly hell, but with the right survival instincts, can be like heaven. We're a conscientious objector if we really want to be.
I don't know about literally but its kinda the same. With Saya's journal it seems as if you don't die from old age since shes complaining about wanting to die since she's so bored. And Bjorn selfs corrects in his journal talking about how he and his ancestors didn't flee the fight.
@remy5347 Bjorn basically thinks he's in Valhalla then, which I wouldn't blame him for since there are never ending conflicts between the factions. There's always someone looking for a fight, whether it be criminals from the main lands, or aliens falling from the sky on meteorites. I can't wait til they release a tower boss that came from a medieval time period, and a new faction of humans that are basically knights. Then after that, we need cowboys. Continue putting different time periods in this whacky blender!
To be fair none of the bosses ever try to tell you why you shouldn't be deactivating the towers. They just jump straight to fighting so you are forced to defend yourself. All you know is that "the towers are the key" and "the world tree holds the truth". As far as you know "the key" could mean the key to escaping the islands.
@PsychoGamer2100 Who even put that message into the tablet the player character gets anyway? Other than Pocket Pair themselves of course, which in-universe being put that message there? Who's secretly guiding the player to the Towers and the World Tree? I think Pocket Pair will add the lore for that with later updates. Meanwhile, the player is free to implement the Geneva suggestions as much as they please.
No joke, i breeded, hatched, and butchered 14,520 mimogs this week just to get 12,000+ XL training manuals. There's a lot of sacrifice that goes on in this game.
35:00 there's a solid theory that jetragon is an alien like the xeno pals and was sent to overtake the island but became accustomed to it instead, forcing xenolord to go kill jetragon for betrayal essentially making jetragon palworlds goku, and xenolord raditz or vegeta
What I don’t understand is how Pokemon being a major franchise haven’t come out with an open world online Pokémon game It will be a big hit if they did
my guess? Greed mostly. here is how they probably see it (this is just a theory and i am not saying that the following is true): An online MMO may seem profitable for such a game at first, but it would mean alot of upkeep and resources (writers, programmers, designers,) divided from there studios, which would mean fewer other pokemon games to release in a year (we have seen that with Bethesda, ones ESO came out..well people are still waiting for a new elder scrolls game.). add to that that making such a game is a risk, as it could turn out to be not very well doing in the playercount in the long run. oh sure the first and probably second month it would be crazy full, but after that Players could lose interest and all the work might be for nothing and a huge loss. ANd they never like taking risks, proof?, 1, the fact that Pokemon has only very slowly changed over the decade. oh sure there were spin-off games but they were often lower in quality ,shorter, or not very well marketed. they tried doing something with Pokemon Arceus, and with how fast player lost the interest in that game, it kind of proofed to them how risky trying something new is. 2.Pokemon-Go. its much more easier to manage, takes alot less work ,upkeep and has alot more option for easy money, why take on a big risky projekt like an MMO when you can just have daily cash income for barely any work? which serves a greedy company like them just right.
Because Nintendo are creatively bankrupt and constantly cannibalizing the previous games with better graphics and new names, thinking they wouldn't ever have to face competition as Nintendo's habit of killing off the competition via court-rigging was infamous... and now might have that little habit turned on their dumbass...
here are my theories with syndicate. they are a really big faction who holds few oil rigs so it makes sense as to their leader being someone else and not the zoe. come on she is weakest of them all and still controls most powerfull or second most powerfull faction. she is also refered to as "officer" of syndicate indicating she isnt true boss. my guess is her papa is top leader or part of top leadership. and the task byorn might have given him could be to reach world tree on a sea creature or something. (sounds like child's play and something not reterning from makes sense. guess he found insite on some resource there(oil) and syndicate are now actively researching them. tree might have given this knowledge as it sensed castaway on island and knew outsiders are coming in, then its only matter of time till one them starts conquering towers and making calamity come forth.
Holy shit, as if i needed another reason to love this game…the story is actually a narrative explaining the futility of government involvement in environmental concerns and the corruption that arises from prohibition and government control of medicine/illegal substances? Amazing.
Hmm...some interesting pieces in here, but there's a LOT of discrepancies. The first and I would think the most jarring are the oil rigs and the attack helicopter. These are both products of a more modern age and wouldn't line up with a "crusade of a thousand years", the oil rigs themselves are constructed with modern parts, using modern weaponry like surface to air missiles and the Rayne Syndicate is kitted out with gattling guns...the entire Rayne operation screams big money to the tune of tens of billions. Also you wouldn't waste the insane amounts of capital extracting oil just to have it sit idle, either the Syndicate has SOME way to offload all those barrels, probably through oil tankers, which means that there is a way off the islands in some fashion. I'd like to think that Bjorn and whatever task he sent Zoe's father off to complete ended up with him becoming incredibly wealthy and he's the sole reason the entire Syndicate is as "wealthy" as they are. The shipping containers scattered around and "Pal Inc" just further that thesis. The question here though is IF the outside world is aware of the Palapagos Islands and to what extent that would lead too. Victor and his research are just more evidence to the fact since he employs some rather modern laboratory equipment or if he merely just repurposed whatever "they" left behind (The Genetic Researchers are equipped with the laser rifle after all), so whether he invented the Pal Condenser remains to seen. Aside from that we know the "Castaway" ranged pretty long so it's possible he to was able to leave. I guess we shall see, but the merc we meet at the first eagle statue seems beyond shocked that Pal's behave in that "way", I've actually chalked her trauma up to the Dinossum roaming the starting area as if you the player get to close they have zero issue with killing you without hesitation. I might also add Astegon to the equation as he was "trapped" and assumed to be slumbering/dead, but is clearly awake now. His tag is "Ravager of the Stars" as well so take that as you may In early trailers (the Unreal, not the Unity) we catch a glimpse of the player constructing a rocket, which would serve little other purpose then space exploration, the Xeno hordes are from "somewhere" not to far away, there's also Lunaris whose entry all but says she's from out there as well, the ruins are all but screaming they are from another planet (moon? Would fit Saya's entry somewhat and Selene also isn't from here) but I am betting on the fact that we're going to space at some point. The Towers are another matter since they would "seem" to be keys to unlocking something, but I'm not sold on the idea that they are merely there to entrap the "calamity" and have another purpose altogether, the occulus gate has gate right name but where that goes is something else to speculate...my personal theory is that it was used in the "ancient" times to shuttle around whatever Pal the huge skeletons scattered everywhere was/is and probably used to travel between the Palapagos and outer space, since there are also numerous stone "human" built ruins everywhere as well which infers that the ancient human civilization had first contact with some civilization. Lily is the odd thing here, as there are still humans that originally inhabited the islands, and the Free Pal Alliance's weapons and dress supports that to some extent. Duneholm is contradictory in the fact that if they are native, and Marcus introduced or exploited whatever "powder" he may have/had not been in possession of when he took over the region, but again he screams of modernity as himself and the PIDF are cops from SOMEWHERE since the various officers hint that they too were shipwreck victims and the "runaway desert refugee" also attests that their influence and mere presence interrupted their way of life. They also founded and guard the sanctuary's which also attests to a more modern "conservation act" type of thinking as well as Marcus' mastery of control over the "drug" trade and knowing what strings to pull as far as addictions are concerned. I'm not Jetdragon is the "thunder dragon", though he holds the "celestial" tag, as do the pegasuai, Elphidran is the "gentle sky dragon", Orserk is the "roaring thunder" and both are dragon in species. Jet is from whatever civilization among the stars Bjorn "fell" from, as are both versions of Froststallion (hypothetically) and the only Pal in that legend that was already a resident was Palladius, the rest gaining their title AFTER whatever the calamity was/is as the statues littered around were signs of affection from the humans already on the islands (this goes for Quivern and Anubis) and all were worshipped for who knows how long, as Hungyu's entry tells of some old school executioner, Celesdir as a "beast of salvation", Azurmane and Univolt (Univolt's nickname is "Thunder Deity" and both served a "Thunder God" who may or may not be the dragon in question. And, honestly, my hot take is these are two seperate conflicts: the first being the calamity, potentially locked up in Yggdrasil, making Jet and the others refugees from the Xeno entries, and another where the netherworld itself has been rendered asunder (Bella, Sootseer, Hezylphr Maraith dex entries) and this instance caused by Katress (Ummhmm) that she's unable to fix, and was probably warned against screwing with in the first place (Wixen) but if these are mutually inclusive events or two issues altogether remains to be seen...and this instance itself IS NOT related to whatever the Pal religious view was, nor the folklore (Incineram, Felbat) that was practiced during the time. Wild as hell, I know
You don't need to beat the first tower to get the aliens to come from the sky. You just simply need to venture into the areas of the islands where they show up. As for Bjorn, I got a good chuckle seeing him and his partner boldly sailing off, just for their ship to sink moments later. 😂
The voice actors you hired Heather Foster, Nick Sleeper, Matthew Rubin, Johnathan King, Mei Konishi, Tabitha Garland, and Rob Sharp all knocked it out of the park with their performances! They did such as a great job that they’re my preferred voices for the characters.
24:46 I named my Bastigor "Stormcloak". 27:44 "Thunder Dragon" - Orserk / 32:49 Or Jetragon 27:59 "The Black Pegasus" - Frostallion Noct 28:09 "The Paladin, ashamed of his failure, split himself in 2" - Paladius & Necromus 32:13 WHY'D YA HAVE TA RUIN THE MOMENT LIKE THAT!?!?! 36:44 You've made Bjorn & Bastigor my favorite characters.
Just started playing pal world a few weeks ago after my kids were begging me to play with them and I’m hooked. Loved this video explaining all the memos and how they intertwined with each other!! The game makes way more sense now, even though I feel bad for taking out Zoe and Lily now.
Here's what I think the general lore of the story is: I think all the entire islands and the reason for the moon always being a full moon is because the entire thing is a structure made by an outside government/group/association, like with the movie "The Truman Show". They create the pals and send them to the island to test and see if they can work well with earths natural biomes and humans or not, those being the "meteorites" they arrive with. The humans on the islands are probably criminals or kidnapped citizens of some sort who have had their memory altered or erased, who are sent to the islands to be part of the experiment and to see how humans and pals naturally respond to each other. This would also explain why sometimes people wash ashore on the island, either because they're dropped off this way or there could sometimes be sailors that get thrown off by storms or something. It only aids in the experiment anyways, so the government or group doesn't care about people showing up on the islands every now and then. But nobody can leave it; they probably kill anyone or anything trying to leave the island in the case it would disrupt or even completely shut down the experiment/process. I do think that some of the tower bosses we see in the game are also people from this government or association who are either put there on purpose to give information back to them and have a hands-on experience with the process, or they're rogue members that have been sent here like the other criminals. I definitely think Victor is one of these people, seeing as he's experimenting and creating pals on his own. I think the outside government's main purpose is to either have a ton of different pals they can sell as pets to people outside of the Palpagos Sphere once they've been created, tested and domesticated. Meanwhile the more dangerous pals with strong powers can be sold to the military, or they can create a military of their own and claim dominance over the world.
I am so shook. I’ve spent like 80 hours in the game in the span of one week (I was sick at home) and never saw an ounce of story. I clearly must have glazed right over it. Thanks for the hard work of compiling the lore
Free pal alliance being literal palworld peta is fucking hilarious ive seen those guys wiping out the cinnamoth population
Sounds kinda like real peta
Freeing them from this mortal coil, apparently.
Dude I just started playing and see them killing pals all the time lmao
As an extra funny thing. The free pal alliance are the only faction who drop cooked pal meat.
I feel the speech from Nathan Copeland from No More Heroes:
"This is it! This is what I been prayin' for! I'm weary of this gilded world! All glitter! No soul... Save me from sorrow, Crownless King! Thy sword, and thy wrath, will deliver me."
The free pal alliance lore is funny to me because in game those bandits will shoot any pal that looks at them funny 💀
Yeah, they should really have them throw pal spheres at them. For gameplay reasons, have them using basics and unable to capture pals. But for lore reasons, they really should be shown to be attempting capture.
I find it funny seeing them do the exact same as the syndicate, especially with having the cage pals😅
They're the only humans to drop food made of edible pal flesh and they do not just drop edible pal flesh but _fully cooked meals_ made from pal flesh
@saurianwatcher4437
They use electric arrows, things used to stun Pals and make them easier to capture, so they probably are trying to capture them but are just really bad at it and may see the Palspheres as too inhumane. Y'know, despite pelting them with shock arrows and killing them by accident.
@mattwo7 one of the save points where the freedom pal alliance spawns is also appropriately named Hypocrite Hill.
I would love a proper palworld anime to be made. It would go SO hard, especially if they put the proper dark spin on it that fits so naturally to this game
Pokemon: The Boys
@geraldyeager7652 😮 This, I like this. Outside of being another money generator, it's an absolute waste to not witness even a mere semblance of this come to fruition. I appreciate your contribution! 💪🤓
Pals eat human corpses in game genetic manipulation. Gender swapping (in case you get two male jetagarn) dark magic pal incest , human pal bonding wink wink for the furrys slavery sacrifice pal souls to make your pals stronger multiple factions with eschewed ideology that shoot on sight quicker than fallout raiders if I missed anything let me know
Dear Pocketpair,
If you really want to stick it to Nintendo. Add voice actors! And here are some awesome voice actors.
I hope they do!
MAKE AN ANIME.
I DARE THEM.
I would be really fascinating.
" -Nintendo- Pocketpair, hire this man"
@clownymoosebean iirc this is already in the works / being sorted out.
@unhappygoldfish6424 I hope they do a good job. I think it would be hard to mess up a good story taking place in an Anachronic Pocket Dimension involving warring factions from different points in time.
Lily- nature enthusiasts blind to her own actions
Drayten- drug overlord who made his partner a literal crack head
Victor- evil mad scientist
( don’t like him at all or the drug dude)
Axel- brothers from other mothers with his partner and likes to dance he probably the coolest 1
Saya- desprate and wants to get out of a endless loop of tradition even if it costs her own life
Zoe- girl who needs therapy badly and actually good parents
Bjorn- a old traditionalist who is a nice guy meets well but can’t see the bigger picture but is key on what he wants
Player - a nessasary person to try and free the island and the people from this prison and take out the threat doing this to them all(I’m not violent and try to murder everyone with a gun but other people really seem like villains when they play this game)
Honestly thanks for the lore I didn’t know what was happening
@ I do hope it's possible in the future, like doing quests for them. I don't think I'll ever take the peaceful route with Marcus, though
Lmfao
I don’t play the game as intended and hold myself back on fun, items, and mechanics because… reasons.
Unfortunately for everyone in this comment section, the game provides me with a shotgun and an rpg. Not even the environment is safe from me.
Lily: The Free Pals Organization will protect all Pals.
My noobie ass of less than an a week: Okay, explain your goons casually shooting Cinnamoths every time I see them.
Lily: they WHAT
Me: yeah they keep shooting and beating up the local cinnamoth population
And they look outside to see the remains of The FPA because they couldn't handle said moths
If Victor ever found out about the Froststallions, he'd most likely would stop at nothing to jump on studying their existence FOR SCIENCE!
The first meteorite encounter is close to Zoe's tower too, on a clearing overlooking the Azurlobe field boss and only show up after you get the tower fast travel point.
makes sense, shrouded the island into eternal winter. well thats the only island that fits description.
I love that with the roadmap stating an end game boss and more world tree interactivity in the future the alien invasion theory may be spot on.
If you've paid attention to the fetbreak, and Sakurajima updates, they keep giving us hints at future things and story elements.
We already have a xenolord, what would it even be called? Xenomega ( xeno+omega ) ?
@mermidion7552 Memory loss from a powerful conquiering alien who becomes its protector...
So Jetdragon is Goku?
@andypants1062 Yet, Xenolord's objective is to eliminate the supersonic dragon, so I do not think it is here to conquer just yet.
But to eliminate the traitor that is Jetragon for a later invasion.
@kirby771so yeah, Goku. Xenolord would be the Raditz, coming to eliminate the alien who failed to conquer the place
When I heard "Geneva suggestions" I had to double check which channel I was watching.
Ikr😂, great reference 👍
i thought i accidentally clicked a stellaris video 🤣🤣🤣
@keviin_mcalisteror a Rimworld.
Though in it it's more of Geneva Checklist
Lily isnt advocating equality. Her precepts demand that people risk their lives to protect pals, but not that pals risk their lives for people. This is not equality. This is pal superiority.
Or more like religion with pals being divine.
@gergernzero6904 Same concept essentially
You know this girl's sleeping with them😅
on the surface the ideology seems to be about pal equality but the one commandment that utterly changes that is you must risk your life to protect pals. from there it shows the ideolgies true face as you say its an ideology that sees pals as beng superior to humans and portrays humanity's existance being soley as a servant to pals. lily is also as seen a misanthropist who dispises her own kind. take note being a misanthropist does not require you to hate yourself.
Lily must clearly of not had met a robin quill
or a direwolf/tottoco/beegarde. little bastards. no matter what level you are theyll attack/suicide bomb you
That Nintendo lawsuit is just them being petty af.
It's all fun and games, until Sony joins the party I guess.
It sucks and companies like Nintendo are nothing but a drain on creativity since they have none and then go after those like Pocketpair who actually give us what we want.
the lawsuit might be petty but the real reason is not, they want to get back at pallworld for stealing there concept.
So odd that one of the commandments is thou shalt not hurt pals, and my base nearby is usually pelted by flopie corpses from their hands.
I love Pal world. Fulfills some little part in my brain that says "farm" and "build"
If it's Yggdrasil, then definitely gotta look in the roots. Niddhog imprisoned among them.
Idk why others say it's Norse myth when lots of other religions have sacred trees
Then Björn sacrifices himself to kill the thing and says something like "After all those years... my ancestors are avenged!"
The relationship of Zoe and Björn would be interesting too. Zoe asking more about her father and Björn feeling guilty about being the reason she grew up without a father.
I'd watch it for sure.
I LOVE THE WAY YOUR IMAGINATION IS WORKING RIGHT NOW. I would utterly adore something like that! What a creative take!!
@PsychoGamer2100 I think Lily would at least help in the final battle
6:07 free pal alliance ? yeah right not like they attack pals for fun
I would watch this Anime. All the potential betrayal, war, violence and butchering of pals will be a dark twist that pokemon hasn't had yet.
Palworld should have 44 series, 33 movies, 22 films, 11 books and a super big cosmology XD
I think they are working on a Palworld anime.
basically PKM x GOT
I think Shadowbeak was made from his assistant. That is why it only happened one time and then his assistant disappeared
Astegon in his entry is called "beast of the abyss" or so.
and what if under the abyss is under the world tree and its roots are trying to contain it and towers are keeping everything sealed as a fail safe incase the tree fails
I have a feeling the brave guy Zoe talks about who left the Island was her father
this is Gensokyo all over again. Unable to escape, and the moons never change. When's the first incident?
Thanks for the concise, well-put-together breakdown of the story so far! I've enjoyed Palworld and been rooting for it since it hit steam, and despite a few glances at the logs, never quite got around to piecing together the story for myself. This did a great job making me feel caught up on things!
The implication in Xenolord's description is pretty clearly that Jetragon was sent ahead of them to conquer the planet but went native instead. Jetragon has the same "wings" as Xenolord.
I love it, lmao. "we better make sure and name him something that REALLY says 'alien conquerer', too, just in case that was the problem."
"A deep love for pals" and yet here they are slandering all the cinnamoth around.
I wonder if the "Full Moon" is a giant alien moon or ship or something since it circles the earth unnaturally too. Maybe the real moon is either gone or somehow excluded by the mists
14:25 was not expecting the npcs to bring it back
24:37 damn, you need more dedicated fans because i just realized like 80% of the views probably don't even know you're the same person that made that story, let alone the voice actor
I appreciate it :)
It's probably called: Japan has zero protections for perceived copyright infringement, they apparently don't have fair use laws either
Japan , that already explained everything. They a bias toward old dog
It's Japan - the same place that doesn't believe in Fair Use and Creative Commons. Every time a decent story developer starts working on a game, Nintendo either snatches them up and buries it forever or sues the bajeezus out of them to make it disappear. This is why we can't have nice things anymore.
And let’s not forget it’s for one of the most basic things ever… like this is so Petty even EA would be like “Bro Chill Out”… and on a hilarious ironic note if true EA APPARENTLY owns the rights to having a pinging system in your game… but they don’t enforce
after watchin axel and orzerk, i now want to be able to dance alongside my pals. that would be so sick
damn, that Rob Sharp fella is what i call a Voice actor, so much feel, soul, heart! EVERYTHING!
he's not just reading the lines, he is feeling them! reading them as it were born by himself!
He is incredible! I love working with the lad.
Roger that. More to come
The definitive best in slot Palworld Lore video, congratulations you've reached the peak until that damn tree gets updated into the game.
I thought hey this is kinda like that one guy who acted out the ark journals. Then i realized it was that guy
18:03 - "unSCRUMPulous"?
Meanwhile Lovander exist... So...
It sounds more like lily wants pals to be greater than humans. Definitely more than just equal. She disgusts humans and thinks they exist to serve pals.
and that is why Lily was my usual go to for Pal Sphereing then leaving in a boc
The Thunder Dragon- Jetdragon
The Celestial Beings- Frostallion and Frostallion Noct. In Frostallion's Paldeck entry it says "In the past, when a calamity struck the land, it soared into the sky and sealed away the threat by casting the island into an eternal winter." Frostallion Noct is probably the black pegasus responsible for making it always nightime. We only see Frostallion in the game since "the black pegasus melted into the night and vanished."
The Paladin- Paladius and Necromus. On their Pal entry, it says that they used to be one.
Frostallion Noct actually has a Boss portal On Feybreak Island - it is at the oculus gate overlook.
@ChronoMatsumari yooo thank you for telling me!
why are you repeating one part of the video via text comment
@alexshinra6722 I commented this before fully finishing the video lol
@Petiteyohhh someone got hit with no impulse control XD
They already changed the mechanic thus not incurring additional fees, and likely paid the $60k already. Lawsuits can be settled out-of-court bro.
19:57 Gee, I wonder why
Honestly, Zoe kinda sounds like Amethyst from SU
Something that I personally hope seeing is that in the End Scenario, we get to fight with all the tower bosses. Like cmon, that would be epic as hell
Yes its true
@andypants1062 That's the first time I'm hearing this.
@GhostGuy99 Check out the Paldex entries in depth. Lots of context for the worldbuilding hidden in the notes and paldex.
There's a small chance that Palworld and Terraria will merge their stories through a collaboration. It's fanciful, but it would be great.
Thank you for this video! It was very entertaining, especially since I have been waiting for at least ONE person to make an updated lore video on this game!
its crazy having to watch a pokemon ad before watching this. XD
I haven't read a single entry I've picked up, so thanks for this 😂😂
"Say it with me. Pocket."
"Pocket."
"Pair."
"Pair."
"Pocketpair."
"Bugabear!"
"Geneva Convention? More like Geneva SUGGESTION" chuckles reference
5:45 you guys think end game may have a different option depending if you've done these things or not?
14:45 I'd be hella surprised if this animation was from the official palworld devs
the so called "free pal alliance" causes the most chaos in the crescent moon island.
lets fucking go I LOVE PALWORLD
I would love it if after 1.0 comes out, that Pocketpair does a Palworld Movie about the entire story of Palworld.
I hope to see another lore video after the full release next year.
I saw on a sub-mission the word: Ass-whooping
I did not know palworld had swear words
I wish I got this when it was on sale. ❤ the lore is amazing 👏
Interesting thought about the 126 timeline. The number 126 pal is Xenovader. So there's some lineation there.
14:00 I still hold that Alex is missing because he is the unknown factor that made Shadowbeak possible.
workplace accident leads to huge success
The real question is, if Victor finds out about this, will he start capturing humans for "science"?
@Catthedestroyermeow He doesn't know where Victor is. He went missing right when the succuss happened.
4:40 Say that again?
(Ultrakill sleeper agent activated)
I like the idea that axel isn't guarding the tower but just wandered in there because he knew someone strong was taking out the tower guardians.
FPA is doing what PETA doing in real life is quite hilarious
Pokemon with warhammer 40k into the mix
The player in my eyes is more neutral Evil, we're not evil, but we certainly aren't good.
Chaotic neutral
No joke, i breeded, hatched, and butchered 14,520 mimogs this week just to get 12,000+ XL training manuals. There's a lot of sacrifice that goes on in this game.
@unclelizard5580me and my partner vow to never butcher pals lol, just cant do it!!
First thing I saw from the Free Pal Alliance is a group of them shooting a grass pal. So in a way, they are more like PETA than intended
You’d think after beating the PIDF Leader, that they would leave you alone and let you do what you want…
the beings bjorn talks about are the legendary pals
Now I feel bad for capturing Zoe 🥺
35:00 there's a solid theory that jetragon is an alien like the xeno pals and was sent to overtake the island but became accustomed to it instead, forcing xenolord to go kill jetragon for betrayal essentially making jetragon palworlds goku, and xenolord raditz or vegeta
What I don’t understand is how Pokemon being a major franchise haven’t come out with an open world online Pokémon game
It will be a big hit if they did
Only if they made sure to fix most of the bugs before release so we don't get another mess like Scarlet and Violet.
Laziness and stagnation
my guess? Greed mostly. here is how they probably see it (this is just a theory and i am not saying that the following is true):
An online MMO may seem profitable for such a game at first, but it would mean alot of upkeep and resources (writers, programmers, designers,) divided from there studios, which would mean fewer other pokemon games to release in a year (we have seen that with Bethesda, ones ESO came out..well people are still waiting for a new elder scrolls game.).
add to that that making such a game is a risk, as it could turn out to be not very well doing in the playercount in the long run. oh sure the first and probably second month it would be crazy full, but after that Players could lose interest and all the work might be for nothing and a huge loss.
ANd they never like taking risks, proof?,
1, the fact that Pokemon has only very slowly changed over the decade. oh sure there were spin-off games but they were often lower in quality ,shorter, or not very well marketed. they tried doing something with Pokemon Arceus, and with how fast player lost the interest in that game, it kind of proofed to them how risky trying something new is.
Technically they have online multiplayer that with other games pokken tournament
So palworld is basically The Pokemon Elden ring 😮
here are my theories with syndicate.
they are a really big faction who holds few oil rigs so it makes sense as to their leader being someone else and not the zoe.
come on she is weakest of them all and still controls most powerfull or second most powerfull faction.
she is also refered to as "officer" of syndicate indicating she isnt true boss.
my guess is her papa is top leader or part of top leadership.
and the task byorn might have given him could be to reach world tree on a sea creature or something.
Amazing.
At last, a person who tell the history of the recent 2 tower bosses. Thank you
Hmm...some interesting pieces in here, but there's a LOT of discrepancies. His tag is "Ravager of the Stars" as well so take that as you may
In early trailers (the Unreal, not the Unity) we catch a glimpse of the player constructing a rocket, which would serve little other purpose then space exploration, the Xeno hordes are from "somewhere" not to far away, there's also Lunaris whose entry all but says she's from out there as well, the ruins are all but screaming they are from another planet (moon?
5:16 yeah… totally.
I've been thinking those voices sounded familiar and then I saw who's channel I was watching. The goat of survival game lore
Clearly the BBEG is going to be whatever species those giant skeletons are all around the map.
24:46 I named my Bastigor "Stormcloak".
27:44 "Thunder Dragon" - Orserk / 32:49 Or Jetragon
27:59 "The Black Pegasus" - Frostallion Noct
28:09 "The Paladin, ashamed of his failure, split himself in 2" - Paladius & Necromus
32:13 WHY'D YA HAVE TA RUIN THE MOMENT LIKE THAT!?!?!
36:44 You've made Bjorn & Bastigor my favorite characters.
Bjorn diaries are a big lore bomb wow :o
Just started playing pal world a few weeks ago after my kids were begging me to play with them and I’m hooked. Loved this video explaining all the memos and how they intertwined with each other!! The game makes way more sense now, even though I feel bad for taking out Zoe and Lily now.
“Wow, I wonder who the calamity will be” I say, knowing exactly who it will be
Here's what I think the general lore of the story is:
I think all the entire islands and the reason for the moon always being a full moon is because the entire thing is a structure made by an outside government/group/association, like with the movie "The Truman Show".
Nah orzerk dancing is wild 😂😂😂😂
Now this is the only way I’ll ever hear them
The free pal alliance wants pals to be free. I want pals to be free. We are not the same.
I am so shook. I’ve spent like 80 hours in the game in the span of one week (I was sick at home) and never saw an ounce of story. I clearly must have glazed right over it. Thanks for the hard work of compiling the lore
