In this short, but handy Quick Tip. Chandan Kumar will show you how to copy an object, or a series of objects from one 3D Studio Max scene to another using 'Copitor', a free script created by zOffTy. This method bypasses the need to 'Merge' objects between scenes and as a result, offers a faster, simpler workflow when dealing with complex scenes.

Go to file -> import -> merge and select the scene you want to copy from -> select the object in the list you want to paste (it helps having descriptive names for your objects to find it in the list)

HI.
How to copy and paste an object to make it stay in exactly perfect line with the copied object.
Let's say i am making a wall, and after finishing a segment of that wall, i need to copy/paste it exactly next to the original one, so i don't have to go and count again the numbers of each "dot" to put them in line and perfect.
I think you know what i mean.

hmmm, if its blender i wouldve used array. Does 3ds max have this tool?

This only works in Max 8? I want it to install on 2010 or 2017 version.
Edit: I got the 1.6 version of Copitor and I got it to work on 2010 and 2017. Guess I had to drop the actual script file.
