cvts get very unfair criticism. subaru makes one of, if not, the best CVT on the market and they only made it better in the new wilderness lineup. they reinforced just about everything to cope with the extra load it'll experience offroading. unless you're towing ALL the time, you won't have many issues at all with the transmission and if you're towing so much to the point where it becomes an issue, you shouldn't have bought an outback in the first place.

I've got 186,000 miles on my 2014 Forester with a CVT and have had zero issues with it.

OH MY GOD THE MPG IS SO BAD, how are people gonna buy it when the world is going to EV and gas price goes 5.50 per gallon in CA....
??what?? the mpg it gets is 22/26 and that is very average for cars. it's not great by any means but its also not god awful
@@dash0173 wrong. it's not 2010s anymore. People are seriously considering MPGs above 30 only. California gas price right now is 5.50 per gallon FYI.
