Spidey is my favorite hero, but I'd gladly say *he isn't prefect* and I really wouldn't sympathize with him if he was flawless. Captain America and Superman are absolutely boring characters because they nearly "always" make the right decision, it's idealism to point of absurdity. Sure Spider-Man is a "good guy" but like Tony Stark, he ain't a Saint and nor should he be.
Ultimate Spiderman might have - but as it was obviously meant as a joke by the writers without them thinking of the "science" behinde it I think it is ridiculous to count that The only real bad thing in that whole list was hitting MJ in a situation which would probably drive most people insane (you being cloned and then finding out YOU are the clone and your whole life has never happened to you)
it's like saying every faults of fictional characters is the writers' faults. Which is true and not true at the same time, writers give mistakes to their characters in order to make the characters feel more of a human being, it's not necessarily a fault of the writers, it's more of an attempt of character development which is good. But, i got what you meant.

So this is the first list I've watched voiced by Ewan and I'd like to offer some criticism. First: your voice was quite nice. Your diction was excellent and the pacing of your speech was also quite good! You didn't peak peak the audio at all and all the s noises and p noises sounded perfect. Only thing I think could improve over time is perhaps being a bit more bombastic and put more emotion into your voice. Have fun with it! :) but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this upload. Keep it up guys!
Bryan Martin Just read the comments and was utterly disappointed in all the hate for Ewan (I mean, give him some rest, it's his second list!) and I'm really really glad that there's at least some useful criticism! Thanks man, you are great!
Bravo Alley 10 DC Graphic Novels You Must Read BeforeYou Die! It's also a list he wrote on Whatculture.com! If you're not familiar with his work on there, check it out, I personally love it, it's brilliant!
Because he killed, then he also killed, oh he then killed this guy too, then that time he didn't kill some one... riiiight, also how can you include bens death, at number one ?! Or at all?! This was his origin and what made him be spider man... as in spider man didn't do it.. was all Peter..
I want to point out, for number 8, that we have seen Peter use his webbing as a sort of air filter before, Suggesting that it is fully possible to breathe through.. we even say it again recently in one of the Renew Your Vows issues. Without spoiling anything, he uses his webbing to help another hero withstand knockout gas, and even admits to having some webbing in his mask to do the same thing.
When it said that Spider-Man was a clone I got pissed.. but then it confirmed that he's actually the real Spider-Man/Peter Parker and that the clone was just trying to take over his life
He also attacked Iron Man during the Civil War series, after the assassination attempt. He won, and crushed his helmet, threathened him to fix everything. I honestly think that at this point Tony Stark was a Villain at best. He put every hero under attack, destroyed the lives of his friends, and when Peter made a different choice he just throw out of his family knowing that they would get attacked.

Marvel is racist. 7) ok spidey was desperate at the moment and his spidey sense didn't work well so he should be justified for that. It's not easy being a hero 6) this isn't his fault. It makes sense. maybe he couldn't handle all these responsibilities. But he became spidey again. 3)Silver surfer has done that too, it's a dumb move to let someone live when he can't escape himself so both should kill actually. A very polite but dumb thing to do 2) ok, this is a really heroic thing to do Relatives > Relationship 1) ok that's not that bad because he understood what's wrong with the killer but still he should catch him
JOHN GRIGORAKOS Hmm...extremely elderly aunt who not only has been in danger of dying in the past, but actually WAS dead before Marvel got cold feet and retconned it...or his young, caring wife who has been with him all that time, knowing he was Spider-Man all the while. Yeah, let's go with the old lady who Mephisto could have had die a day later of old age if he was feeling particularly nasty that day.
JOHN GRIGORAKOS Isn't that old?! She's been his elder aunt for fifty plus years now! Even with comic book aging, she's got to be in her upper seventies at the very least.

Spiderman is probably my favorite super hero but I have always liked the idea of Spiderman killing his enemies think about how many lives he will save all of the villains he captures all escape anyway I would like a story line were Spiderman just kills his enemies that would be cool
It's mistakes like these that remind us that peter is only human, He's not perfect. I'd find him a more stupid character if he had no outbursts, wanting to give up, or even making some big mistakes that result in someones death. The saying goes: "You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain" - Harvey Dent/Aaron Eckhart and seeing how spidey happens to survive a lot, it wouldn't bee to far to say that being a hero might be getting to him the older he gets, mind you he started being a hero really early in his life, depending on the material his late teens or early college life
Actually, doing nothing is WORSE than doing wrong. At least when you did something wrong, you learn not to do it again, whereas when you do nothing, you won't learn anything.
Very provocative list.... He declared war on a foreign country! Accidentally hit someone? He made a deal with the devil! And he had a one night stand? Some of these really don't deserve to be on this list.
I remember seeing the first Spider-Man movie. I knew who in the theater were not familiar with the mythos of the wall crawler. When he let the robber escape there were a few people who cheered. I knew they would regret it soon.
Referring to the bit at 3:39 about Peter Parker killing a woman, Peter used to use his webbing as a makeshift mask whenever he would lose the real one. He'd web up his own face and apparently be able to both see and breathe through it. He didn't kill that woman.
Spider-Man lives in a world with actual gods, magic, and advanced tech, but none of that could fix a gunshot wound? Ridiculous. Hell, they could have downloaded May's consciousness into a machine and cloned her a new body or something.
Fairly certain that Spider-Man had thought about webbing people’s faces up beforehand- if I remember correctly it states somewhere in canon that the webs allow air in
It's in the video, just not at position #1. One More Day is surely the most offending event for any Spider-Man reader ever. Even people that never heard about it or that will never hold a comicbook in their hands: right now they're STILL being actively offended by One More Day.
Not really with Peter it was a accident and the and the writer even said it came off worse art wise that it should have. Guy was in the middle of a fight and while freaked out hit her. Pyme hot his wife because he was ticked off and it was more than once. There was a reason they eventually portrayed him as unstable
Oddly enough the writer said the same exact thing about Pym hitting Jan. You can make all the excuses you want, but the fact is Peter Parker back handed his pregnant wife through a brick wall. That's worse than OMD in my opinion, and everyone (in universe and out) sweeps it under the rug. Pym's portrayal as unstable is because writers can't seem to figure out what to do with him so they go back to the "he hit Jan and feels guilty" well even though so many writers have already dealt with it.
Its not excuses its the plain reality of it yeah the writer said he didnt intent pyms to be that harsh either but the art made it that far more impossible than parkers so what did we end up with parkers stayed a accident pyms was not but was the result of him being unstable And seriously you see parker accidentally hitting mary jane in the middle of a fight as worse than making a deal with a demon (sometimes depending on the writer the devil) that wiped their soon to be daughter from existence? Really?
I'm sorry dude, I just don't take "oh come on baby, you know not to sneak up on me when I'm upset" as an excuse for domestic violence. Yes Spider-Stan, I consider Peter punching their soon to be daughter through a brick wall in fit or rage to be worse than magically erasing her in a moment of grief.
Your just being absurd and twisting it as far as possible a accident during a fight is not domestic abuse. Either way your logic makes no sense in case a by accident his he knocks back his wife his super strength but she and the kid survive.., the other he makes a deal with a freaking demon and the child ceases to be see the difference here life vs not? its pretty substantial
it really speaks volumes of how good a guy Spidey is when you have to reach this hard to find all the "bad" things he did.
lol true
He killed a woman for calling him a "mutt freak".
Spidey is my favorite hero, but I'd gladly say *he isn't prefect* and I really wouldn't sympathize with him if he was flawless. Captain America and Superman are absolutely boring characters because they nearly "always" make the right decision, it's idealism to point of absurdity. I think the dance he did in Spider Man 3 should get an honorable mention

No wonder it looked similar
Or a dishonorable mention.....

Spider-Man did nothing wrong his writers did

Al C 100% agree. I'm glad someone else sees this. That is by far what I love most about comics.

I'm all for the hero's journey but when it comes to spider man he not only got lost along the way but he also was emo back before emo was a thing. these are the two reason I don't like spide rman,

Jeremy Brown good Ol Cletus also dug his mother up if you remember... I don't see him blushing ever, I do look forward to seeing him and his suit reunite after Norman loses it.

he didn't kill the woman because there's a bunch of holes in the webbing
The webbing is also removable

he didn't sell away his marriage. mary jane sold it behind his back because she knew peter couldn't do it. read the comic
Caleb Chang well he did agree to it as Mephisto said both needed to agree to the deal
Yes that was a great character move on MJ's part
That was all Joe Quesada, the editor's fault. One of the worst pieces of storytelling ever.
I still think its retarded. Yes I'll trade away the love of my life and my past with her to save my dying aunt who has maybe 5 good years left anyway.
Regardless it's still one of the worst comic stories ever made

You can make all the excuses you want, but the fact is Peter Parker back handed his pregnant wife through a brick wall. That's worse than OMD in my opinion, and everyone (in universe and out) sweeps it under the rug.
Pym's portrayal as unstable is because writers can't seem to figure out what to do with him so they go back to the "he hit Jan and feels guilty" well even though so many writers have already dealt with it.
Its not excuses its the plain reality of it yeah the writer said he didnt intent pyms to be that harsh either but the art made it that far more impossible than parkers
so what did we end up with parkers stayed a accident pyms was not but was the result of him being unstable
And seriously you see parker accidentally hitting mary jane in the middle of a fight as worse than making a deal with a demon (sometimes depending on the writer the devil) that wiped their soon to be daughter from existence?
Either way your logic makes no sense in case a by accident his he knocks back his wife his super strength but she and the kid survive.., the other he makes a deal with a freaking demon and the child ceases to be
see the difference here life vs not?
its pretty substantial
which comic is the one where he s the clone? I want to read it
Nice delivery, Ewan!
