I thought the Q3 was just 'standard' LCD not dimmable back light...

Thanks for digging out my old clip. I use QPro so it is not as good for it is no OLED so dark is not dark enough. The VD has a setting to have local dimming which I am told is not "visible" outside the headset.

would virtual desktop fix my fps problems i have on oculus link and air link?

I can't say for sure. First I am no expert, and second, it really comes down to the components to see what causes the problem.
