*Lore Time:* Dinki is obviously of the same species as whatever Mafti and Fredi are, and I note that there is also a similar naming convention. Dinki is referred to as "Specimen 1" which, along with the visuals for "META DATA" and "PINK ORIGINS," suggests that these creatures are being observed and catalogued by some unknown party, if not strictly contained. The fact that the aforementioned videos are listed as the so-called origins of Fredi and Mafti respectively suggest that Mafti, Dinki, and Fredi share a common source, or perhaps creator. It is possible, however unlikely, that the titular Icon Killer from the Sweet Genesis album is another such specimen -- one of definite interest to this unknown party if it requires a whole album's worth of observation when compared to its kin. Going by the term Icon Killer, I shall officially dub the race of these specimens as *"Icons"* until proven otherwise. The "starguide" in the title refers to Dinki's role, either assigned or self-assumed, of guiding stars. Curiously, Dinki appears to be _chasing_ the star, so perhaps the guidance is akin to a sheepdog herding a flock. Where is this flock? Who is the shepherd? Only Dinki is privy to the intricate designs of the abyss above. Only she may soar through its twinkling reaches. Dinki's dynamic appears kind of like Blaze the Cat to Fredi's Sonic and Mafti's... either Tails or Amy, I dunno. It's just the vibe I'm getting. The "I" in the title means that this'll be the first in a series of character pieces, likely covering the lives of various undisclosed Icons. Thus far, we have ourselves three (or four, assuming Icon Killer counts as an Icon itself) Icons -- one without a name (I.K.) and two without as-of-yet designated functions/descriptors (Mafti; Fredi - music production?). Does this matter? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Mysteries upon mysteries...
I believe that Dinki is just having a moment of levity. Calling them StarGuide might just be the habit of humans to give reason to things that happen that we don't understand. Dinki could just be a force that happens to attract or cause the movements of the starts like a fish swimming rapidly through still waters, but this one star has caught their interest.
@@tsunertoo9149 That may be true, but if the "starguide" bit is indeed based off of outside observation, then certainly something like "starcatcher" or "stargatherer" would be more apt -- as it's observed in the video that Dinki is pursuing the star, it's the most logical conclusion one could make of her (referenced as a "her" on Twitter). So, Dinki being called "starguide" implies that the observer has more data than we are privy to, observational or otherwise. The act of guiding implies _intent._ It is more personal than simply influencing something by one's presence. Do we say that the fish guides the ripples it makes as it swims rapidly? By human observation, the answer is no. The same principle applies here: If Dinki is simply a force that attracts or moves the stars by indirect action, she wouldn't be observed to be guiding them. Whatever Dinki is really doing, it is her intent to do so. That being said, there's nothing stopping this moment from being one of levity, or from this particular star catching her interest and going on a merry chase. We'll never know exactly what's happening here; all the emotional context we really need lies in the music itself.
@@GlassesFreekJr. The way people name things, is often strange and misleading. Potato in french translates into "apple of the earth". Peppercorns have next to nothing in relation to actual peppers. A number of crows is called a murder. The naming behind of it could be arbitrary. We may just not see the stars following behind of Dinki, perhaps Dinki only guides some of the time, maybe Dinki pushes instead of leads similar to how a tug boat might push instead of tug. Whimsy can play a part in science too.
@@tsunertoo9149 That's a very good point, and in any case neither of us can really prove anything either way. There's little chance the next track in this series will shed light on anything other than the introduction of another funny geometric friend, which is alright. In other news, I found the official cover art for this song on Twitter: twitter.com/octzylla/status/1370286377385005058/photo/1 What do you think's going on there?
Why is no one talking about HOW AWESOME the 3D animation at the start is??? Like, apart from the incredible music and the awesome character design and idea, the animation of the screen moving looks like something straight out of some old videogame menu or something.
Just... the attention to every little detail required to make these tracks the way they are... is absolutely incredible. You are a LARGE step ahead of a good portion of your competitors (if you were to call it that)
I've been imagining a game that stars Metaroom and Mafti on the Dog Bus flying through the sky as a shooter game. You could switch between them, and based on which one you are using, the game will be either 2d or 3d.
I'm trying to get better at making Music and my biggest problem is that I always compare myself to others in a "Bad" way. I get frustrated that my Music doesn't sound as good as this. Like mines barely have all these sounds an stuff. Or sounds going to your left ear to your right. It's just so creative and so much ideas that I can't pull stuff like this off. Coming up with ideas and being creative is pretty hard for me. I do the same thing over and over and it feels "empty" I dont know if its because I'm using FL Studio Mobile or it's just me. But I gotta remember that it takes time. So I'll try my best!
I can definitely see you being limited with FL mobile.. def would recommend ableton or atleast a desktop version of FL! A lot of what I do is detail-oriented and just involves adding and progressively editing things to more a intricate state. The concept for this series is creating an otherworldly vibe based on alien creatures, and my mindset was to create music that tells a story through how the sounds manipulate and evolve. Once you get into the flow of composing, it can be really fun to mess things up and introduce random elements and try to make them work! It's a very intuitive process, and nothing about this piece was thoroughly planned.. just me havin fun trying to make something crazy. I think you should approach music with the same mindset- just havin fun with it (it usually results insomething cool anyway)
@@METAROOM You're right. If I have fun with making music, I wouldn't mind adding in random stuff to see what makes it click.
