Welcome back! I have to say, not only are your videos so high-quality, the amount of dedication to wildlife photography and this channel you have is insane! Keep up the great work!
Hey I'm happy the bull moose at the end made it in to this video. I pulled up along the road just behind you and said hi when they were heading across the road. I went back to look to see if it was the same bull and sure enough it was.
I will be coming to Yellowstone this Sept 2024. My first trip here. I spent 50 years photographing Yosemite and studied photography under Ansel Adams there.
Man, your channel is getting me so excited for 2025 when I'm planning to move to Wyoming. Last time I was in Yellowstone was 2004 when we did an early fall back country camping trip with our horses and it was incredible. We didn't get to see any bears or wolves, but being there for the Elk Rut was magical.
I was able to see the Lamar Valley for the first time this last July. Wow! My son recently moved to Billings so we plan on visiting a couple times a year. Hopefully in spring and fall. Loved your photos and video they are inspiring.
Yellowstone National Park is such a wondrous place and it's one of my favorite parks. Those moose shots were absolutely incredible! That's one animal that remains elusive to me 😢 great video!!!
A very nice Moment in the Yellostone ! I think it´s allways not easy to watch and photografic / filming wild wolfes how here by me in Germany. But sometimes you have luck. Regards from Germany Niko
Great to see a new video! Always exciting to see what you are chasing in the park. Would love to see your camera setting data for the photos you spotlight.
You got some incredible shots during that trip! The pronghorn in front of the aspens can only be taken a handful of places in the US since they usually like the open prairies. Frame that one!
Thank you! Yep, very happy with that one in particular because like you said, it’s such a rare photo to capture. Definitely my favorite photo from this vlog.
I am so happy to see a new vlog post from you! I hope your final semester of school went well, and I am so looking forward to your adventures and photos. Your talent is phenomenal! Thank you for sharing your remarkable photos and videos.
I appreciate your support and patience! School went great - very glad to have it done. Thanks so much for following along and I hope you’re having a wonderful day 👍
Glad to see you back!! I’ll be visiting Yellowstone this September and I’m craving for high quality content like yours! Looking forward to the new vlogs!
Hello Watt! I found you on RUclips and have seen multiple videos of yours. Including you in Yellowstone. And I'm thinking of making a trip to Yellowstone with my wife for the first time ever. I'm not a photographer (I don't get paid to take photos), but that would be one of the main focus's for me. As well as it being an anniversary trip for us. So what would be your suggestions for a first timer? 1: Where to fly into (JHA?) 2: Where to stay (I don't have unlimited money lol)? 3: Good places to go for "easy" checkmark location's and typical Yellowstone wildlife. PS: It would be for about a week.
I recently found your channel, and have been binge watching all your videos! The production and growth is amazing! You have me planning a trip to Yellowstone for wildlife photography!!! 😂🤣. If you would be so kind as to answer one thing for me...when truck camping, where do you stay? Do you exit the park? Or just chance it in the park? 😉
It’s great to see you post again and what an epic video. Do you know what pack that was ? I will be back to Yellowstone this fall and I’m hoping to photograph some wolves. You really had some beautiful captures. I love the variety of wildlife in the YNP area. Tnx for sharing and I look forward to your future videos.
Thank you for your patience, I’m very excited to be back. It was the Wapiti Lake pack. In my opinion, they’re your best option for photography because they come close enough for photos the most often. I appreciate you following along, and hope you’re having a great day!
It’s all in the timing my friend! I spent a whole week in the Tetons the last week of May and the only moose I saw was a scrawny little cow in a creek off Pacific creek road. But, I saw so many grizzly’s I stopped pulling over to photograph them after a couple of days. Last year I was in Yellowstone around the same time and only found black bear, no grizzly. Heading up to Rocky Mtn park in mid September in hopes of finding some moose.
Interesting video, loved the Otter shots, such cool little critters and those horny Bullmoose shots made me laugh. Some beautiful landscape captures and great work on your time lapse. I hope your summer is going great and you are making great images and video.
Thank you, it’s good to be back! Yes, email me at wattswildlifephotography@gmail.com, let me know what size and material you’d like and I can absolutely get that printed for you! Thanks again and have a wonderful day 👍
You're providing something that no one else does, a snapshot view of life inside Yellowstone. It really resonates. You're creating content we can always trust to show our kids as both entertaining, educational, and wholesome. Your perspective is a rare one that many of us would love to have, and I suspect you are one of the fortunate ones with the talent and opportunity to make a living doing it. Thanks, and keep it up.
Thank you for this comment. It is truly so heartwarming and motivating to know that that’s what you’re able to get out of this videos, and I feel so fortunate to be able to share this perspective with viewers. I appreciate your support, have a wonderful day!
Wonderful video, I hope to meet up with you next spring in Yellowstone. I am going to apply for a position in Mammoth Hotel, I like Mammoth because it opens early.
I would love to go with you on an African Safari here in South Africa, i would learn so much from you. Yes i live in South Africa haha. Love the content
It was absolutely insane! In the audio of the original unmuted clips I was breathing so heavily watching that hunt happen 😂 Definitely a highlight moment as a photographer.
Excellent snaps on that pronghorn! I sold my pro gear around 2010.. I loved my 500mm L glass... Yours looks a big different. What year? Anyway, thanks for sharing!!
Awesome video Watt, when do you recommend the best time to visit Yellowstone I have some new great photography equipment that I'm just busting to try out. Don't get much chance here in Ireland lol
Thank you! Yellowstone truly is awesome any time of year but I’d say avoid summer. July and August are crowded, hot, and the wildlife is doing everything they can to avoid the heat.
This really confused me for a sec. I thought the General store closed for the summer (really strange business move) and then saw snow and was like what?! In June/July?! :P Great content as always!!
Since it’s extremely rare for wolves to kill cattle, especially so on private property, that likely won’t be happening. For a bit of perspective on how rare it is, Montana Fish and Wildlife Parks found that in 2021, wolves killed 96 cattle in Montana. Weather, on the other hand, killed over 30,000. It’s made out to be a big deal when in actuality they kill a negligible and minimal number of cattle.
Enter the giveaway for 100k subscribers here this be amazing I just got into wildlife photography and I visit Namibia and it’s amazing so I know SA will be amazing.
I am headed to Yellowstone and The Tetons 9/3-9/13. First visit! Sooooooooooo pumped to humble myself with some attempts at shooting some Yellowstone!!! Will you be around then? Love to meet ya! Addicted to your channel. It's great!
I would go thru Yellowstone on my way Hunting in Idaho and Oregon every Sept starting in 1980,,,,,the Elk are rutting in Sept,,,,,,,, EVERY meadow had a Bull with several Cow's. There were so many Elk,,,,,,,,,Elk harvest in the 80's and 90's in the Selway of Idaho was around 160. 10 years later after they released the Wolves in Yellowstone the Elk harvest went down to 40. They destroyed the Biggest Elk Herd in America with the Wolves going unchecked for over 10 years,,,,,,,, what a shame

I was in Africa in 1984 while in the Marine Corps,,,,I can’t express how amazing it would be to return for epic photography and videography.
amazing stuff, I love watching wolves do their work to get food
I will be coming to Yellowstone this Sept 2024. My first trip here. I spent 50 years photographing Yosemite and studied photography under Ansel Adams there.
oh my lord jesus that was such an epic way to start out a vlog about photography specifically about photography in which the main phocus is wildlife
Great video! Waiting for the African wildlife.
Thanks!

Trust me you don't want to see bears in the backcountry lol

Wise to carry 👌 bear 🐻 spray 😊
Great video and photos as always. You are so lucky to live that close to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Looking forward to your next video
Hey Watt. just got back from yellowstone and saw 10 wolves hunt an elk in the river and howl after. so cool u got to see this.
It's about quality over quantity, you have excellent content and production.
Thank you man, I really appreciate that! I definitely strive for quality 🙂

Thank you! That’s a great idea… something I should look into implementing in the future for sure 👍
Pronghorns are the second fastest land animal behind the cheetah, and are more related to giraffes and okapi than antelope. Super cool.
Its an awesome feeling when your shot goes your way!
Beautiful shots man!
You got some incredible shots during that trip! The pronghorn in front of the aspens can only be taken a handful of places in the US since they usually like the open prairies. Frame that one!

Hahaha, no this was filmed last fall... just took me 9 months to get it out 😅 I apologize for this confusion, and thank you for following along!!
Have just subscribed, only another 85,000 to go, reckon I'm a chance to be going to Africa in 2034!
