PA had a driver that was working up his way up the ranks. Blaise Alexander JR. He was best friends with Jimmie Johnson. Blaise died in a deadly crash in Oct after Sr. The other driver involved in the wreck was Kerry Earnhardt. :O I believe Kerry did a Sr move and caused the wreck. JJ put a memorial decal on the front left corner of his car. And dedicated his first win to Blaise.

@chrisbarrettFilmstudio he actually spent quite a few years in Connecticut. Starting in quarter midgets then Late Models. • @chrisbarrettFilmstudio

The Blaney's, Rahal's & Cindrics are the most successful ohio racing families. Among others.
Ohio has many "cool" people Dean Martin, Paul Newman, Tim Richmond & Eddie Rickenbacker, among others.
Another NASCAR Legend from Ohio is Banjo Mathews Best known for having constructed many cars in the 70s & 80s, including 72% of the winning cars in the top NASCAR division from 1974 to 1985 (262 wins in 362 Cup races).
However the stat he was most proud of was that no driver was ever killed driving a Banjo Matthews-built car.
Roger Penske is also from Ohio Penske is one of the greatest racing teams in US history NASCAR & INDYCAR too.

Also if we would count virtual racing accomplishments not limited to NASCAR NC has the unique distinction of producing the United States' only Gran Turismo Hall of Famer and only virtual motorsport 'Grand Slam' winner (Daytona 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Indianapolis 500 and Monaco Grand Prix) (me), which is one better than the only driver in history to achieve the triple crown (24hr Le Mans, Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix) in real life racing (Graham Hill).
