  • In this video I get a first look at the EAC Twing Turbo Kit developed by Eugene Turkov of Enthusiast Auto Care and Husam Hammadi of BTWTuning.
    This twin turbo kit integrates GT-R turbos with the VQ37 engine to provide a street legal, carb & emissions compliant boost option for the 370Z / G37 / Q50 and other Nissan & Infiniti platforms that use the VQ37 powertrain.
    For years the 370Z and G37 have only had the Stillen Super Charger kit as the only carb legal boost option for the platform. Can this new twin turbo kit outperform it?

      I am also wondering once this whole kit is installed, how is reliability affected? I don't plan to drive my car 9/10ths every time I drive, I'll be driving it pretty moderately as in the video. All should be good right? All I hear before going boost on the VQ engines is to take care of the Gallery Gaskets first.

    Was this with the stock nismo exhaust? How much more would you estimate it makes with a more free flowing exhaust?

      So I can't comment on this because it depends on the state your in. If you ran ethynol and changed the tune up, I don't doubt it would be easy to hit 600whp if that is what you are after.
      I would talk with Eugene, he can give you a deffinitive answer on this. But if you are in california, I believe you aren't legally allowed to modify the tune or kit without nullifying the street legal certification.

    You keep saying "street legal", but the only difference here is actually the CARB certification. Just because that's the worst state in the country. It's the only state that has something so stupid. Also I would argue that people modifying cars don't really care about so-called legality, unless they are in that state and even then it's a debatable. I'm not saying anything bad about Eugene's kit, or discounting the usefulness of what he's created here. It's just this may mislead some people into thinking that other turbo kits are not legal in the US. It's just that one horrible state.
    Also, good to see you back. Welcome back.

    • @thecarizon504
      @thecarizon504  7 месяцев назад +2

      Technically any twin turbo kit that doesn't maintain factory or aftermarket cats is not street legal on a federal level.
      Agreed though, for the majority of people that are looking to boost their cars, carb certification doesn't matter. This kit still holds it's own I think even barring carb cert.

    • @KarlKFI
      @KarlKFI 7 месяцев назад +2

      The other thing to note is that in order to pass CARB’s requirements, the car can’t produce more emissions than stock. So in addition to keeping the cats the kit also uses a bypass valve to recirculate unused boost pressure, instead of a blow off valve venting to atmosphere. So it’s not polluting more than stock even with almost double the torque. And the gas mileage is actually even a little better than stock.

    • @oc3144
      @oc3144 7 месяцев назад

      @KarlKFI Does that mean that this kit doesn't produce the BOV sound between shifts?

    • @KarlKFI
      @KarlKFI 7 месяцев назад

      @@oc3144 The recirculating bypass valve does make a "pssshh" sound when you shift, similar to a BOV, but the excess gas is put back into the intake system, instead of being vented to atmo, which means it's quieter than a BOV and all gass goes through the cats, which keeps the total emissions low. You can definitely still hear it in the cabin, but it's not loud and obnoxious, and doesn't have the characteristic whistle you might be familiar with on some aftermarket kits. I'm not an expert, but it sounds like recirculating also helps the turbos to get back up to speed after shifting.
