I like Beehiive but what puts writers/journalist off is that it is made for people who can set up and design a sign-up page/website home page/landing page etc given the right tools. If only Behiive considered the needs of us writers like Ghosts and Substact by providing a choice of themes I would have signed up yesterday. As with most writers/journalists, we do not want to go through the learning curve of how to design a page or site, we just want to write.

They are basically paying you to advertise their business within your newsletter. But how do you find these businesses that want to pay to be included on your newsletters and will pay that?

A single landing page needs to be created for them to get a free report maybe and enter their e-mail? What about social platforms? How to start those if not currently involved with anything? The biggest challenge seems to be an audience which has a very short attention span. How do you overcome this challenge? Second, nothing is for free. I have come across many things which start out as "free" and as soon as the trial period is over a monthly subscription fee is charged. So, there are some things you fail to mention. Third, social media is exhausting; yes, one can outsource to a freelance social media manager, however, it will cost you. Social media managers are not cheap. Audiences are fickel and sometimes it is not worth the time. In summary, it is easier said than done.
Starting a newsletter is something I've considered but I haven't been able to find a single black person who has been successful at it. Maybe you or someone here knows someone.

Yes, that could happen. But I know a lot of people who got most of their subscribers from groups (reddit), so do a bit more research on that. btw, this is just one of many strategies to get subscribers.

Just some inspiration for you! #2 Might be a good idea to form an LLC for this newsletter, just in case, based on the subject matter. Though it might be smart to see if your newsletter becomes popular before forming a business entity. At the very least, an iron clad disclaimer you put in the bottom footer of every email.
