Johann Sebastian Bach(?), Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele, BWV Anh II 52

Again a piece that may or may not have been composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is an elegant piece in which the chorale melody flows in long lines, accompanied by faster eigth notes in a ternary rythm. Peculiar in this piece is that the soprano voice interrupts its play of long notes in bar 32 and joins the alto voice in the ternairy rythm.
The recording was done with the sampleset, made by Organ Art Media, of the Arp Schnitger organ in Steinkirchen.

On reconnaît peu la mélodie de base de ce choral luthérien utilisé plusieurs fois par Bach dans des cantates, car il y a pas mal de variations. L'original vient du psautier huguenot (ou français ou de Genève, suivant les éditions). au milieu du XVIème siècle. Il s'agit du psaume 42, le texte actuellement utilisé (en français moderne) est "comme un cerf altéré brame" , l'auteur n'est pas précisément connu, mais suivant certaines notes de l'édition actuelle du psautier français, ça pourrait être Loys Bourgeois. Ce psaume français est devenu au XVIIème siècle un choral luthérien (avec un texte allemand qui n'est pas une traduction), utilisé donc par Bach.

I don't agree that the melody is not easily recognizable. The long notes in the soprano voicefollow the chorale melody perfectly. Only in bars 32 en 33 the composer deviates form the long notes in the soprano voice, but even than the accented notes in those two bars are the correct notes from the chorale melody. Thanks for the rest of the info.
