  • First Look at my new small, portable ice-fueled air conditioner unit, the Blowbox (yeah, stupid name).
After storing several large cooler ACs in my limited storage space, I wanted a small self-contained unit that could be paired with a plug-in separate pump. With this combination, any ice chest from a small collapsible soft-sided model to a 125 Qt hard-sided marine cooler can be used to create an effective ice-fueled air conditioner. The cooler remains a usable cooler, and with two plastic removable plugs, hard-sided models can be easily re-sealed when not paired to the Blowbox.
The Blowbox utilizes trademark Frankencooler features such as multiple heat exchangers, powerful, high-static pressure blower, variable speed controller, and quiet, HD marine pump. Everything but the external pump is housed in a rugged, lockable box that also contains storage for the 10' power plug cord and optional 4.5 Ah lithium iron phosphate power cell.
This is a proof-of-concept prototype. I do not yet offer plans or a component package for it.
I am currently producing a better, In-depth video that will be posted here soon.
