1. I found it so reassuring that it's just a converation and it seems like your examiner and supervisor are on your side as opposed to trying to trip you up and catch you out. 2. I loved the tip about rehersing with your freinds, such a great idea! It will be especially nice now in covid when everyone's working form home. I also loved the tip about NOT reference shoehorning. Yeah, it definitely should be a conversation and not a situation where they're trying to catch you out. I found it hard to figure out what to include and what to leave out until I started (and I know a few other people who felt the same). The way I tend to write is to make a plan of the sections I need to include with bullet points about what to include in each section, and then I tend to write too much and then cut it back. As you start to tighten your literature review up, the gaps, why your research is important and what you want to do, it'll become clearer what you can keep in and what can be cut. Your supervisor will be able to help you with that as well.
