Great vid as always Rev. Im level 50 but havent built a level 50 epic ship and dont intend to and my cubes maxed out based on my tier 9 pilum. My biggest gripe is the cube is my second strongest ship but its warp range is worse than my level 42 unc ships(200 vs 160) so although i can easily beat level 53 solo borgmardas i cant use my cube for them as it cant reach without summoning it in or wasting bridge crew space on a warp range officer. In my mind this cube should be up about par with my pilum not less useful than a 42 unc.
I like running it as my 3rd ship for the Bajor solos. It charges full on the rares then I send the cube to beam a 49, then I can fire the next armada with the cube from that system.
Thanks Rev - helpful insight... I have an issue however - I cannot find the last component - Borg Data Node T8 needed to get my cube to Tier 8. It says i need to have gotten Tribune/Hegh'ta and ENT-A to T4 to unlock and claim from the Borg refinery. I skipped the G4 epics and have gone straight to G5 UC's. I have Northcutt at T4 but no sign of this last piece in the Borg refinery. Any ideas anyone?

im an old dude and it took a minute to locate the spread sheet but it is locked and I messaged the owner of the spread sheet but I am not sure if they got my message or if they will unlock it.
I would call myself a collector,so I wasn't going to pass up on the Cube. I wish it were more powerful than it is at my level (42)and I'm a small dolphin, but, to me, stuff like this makes STFC fun.
The Borg Cube is a Star Trek nostalgia if you’re hoping that this Borg cube is going to be your: “be all, kill all”, you’re not in the right mind frame and this ship is not for you. But if you want to have a little piece of Star Trek lore & Cannon in your gameplay, then this is the ship for you
Honestly Rev I know you cater to the majority of players that aren’t dolphins or whales but the cube is a savior for G6 players. Yes we are a minority but the ships usefulness increases as you progress. I use my cube more than my Velox. It’s an excellent grinder for g6. Cracks bases well. And has saved us in waves (yeah I know waves aren’t a thing for some but for us they are). Maybe try not to generalize so much. For G5s and 4s I won’t claim the same level of benefits for G6. But if anyone intends to progress to g6 my warning is to ignore it at your own peril.

At early levels the cube is horrible. In the 40's to mid 50's it's ok, but once you get to Ops 56 and get the cube to tier 11 and build the shield and armor nodes it becomes very powerful and useful. It then becomes my second most powerful ship right behind me Sanctus. It has surprisingly high impulse speed for a battleship too.
Hey great video but you didn't really cover everything for the cube. For the most loot you should have 5 on the side. Phlox gives a bonus to charging the beam. During the last arc you could also buy an upgrades for the beam, almost doubling it's damage. You do have to buy each level. Doing part of my dailies I go to Kronos to kill 49's. It only takes 2 traders to charge the beam and I can kill a trader with 3 shots. With my crew I get 1650 a ship.
All of that is covered in the spreadsheet. I also specifically mention all the loot officers now work for the beam, hence the video. So... I quite literally covered what you said I didn't :P. Wouldn't recommend players buy that prime btw. Waste.
You can ignore the beam and use it like normal battleship: but that is nearly impossible also. Why?; what many people keep saying: the warp range remains very bad in G4 and early G5. The Cube have very good fire system and strength is good; my is near 55 mil in very early G5. Good looks, power is great and fire system is very good.. still most useless ship because the warp range.. Scopely will not change it, so be it and that I say: people don’t not spend time on this ship it’s pointless only good when you are high in G5 and G6. You can play this game without the Cube research, people did it more then 4 years and it can still be done. All the research is not game changing
Or I can continue doing what I want and ignoring the cube tell the tax is gone. That was the worst 20 bucks I have spent in this game. You warned me that there would be something to work around the Tax but I'm still waiting for that .( AKA my cube is still marked as new haven't touched it and won't touch it tell TAX IS GONE FOR GOOD )

Fair assessment. Below g6, the research and a few niche uses. It's my 3rd strongest ship at ops 51.
I honestly don't do my borg cube very often because I have lods of upgrade mats and don't have the ships to tier it up

You'd need to get your Northcut to t6

The loot bonus change to the cutting beam does have one downside. It no longer ignores the 2000 hostile kill limit.
can you make a video on the tier up specially with the dependencies?
i have noticed you can do stronger targets just takes more cutting beam tries once destroyed you get the TD

I'm with you on the annoying uselessness of the Cube, itself. However, I am interested in the research that comes with building up the Cube.
I found that chart earlier but it wouldn't let me set the level. I seemed like it was protected.
You have to go to File - Make a copy and then you can do it.

You need to make a copy of the spreadsheet - go to menu - File -> Make a copy

at ops 39 the cube is upgraded as much as it can go at 39, and all the research is done, unless there is s event it never moves.
I'm stuck until i get valdore to t6. Then i can start to upgrade.

The Cube is still cool. It's pretty good at PVP for higher levels. It's a 💩for everyone else, though.

Get them to fix their attack levels already please. 60s shouldn't be able to attack 40s. 3 level diff max.
