Really outstanding and absorbing coverage of something that, journalistically, is very hard to cover: basically, fifteen to twenty minutes of dead time that needs to be filled. That's also the reason why the prep 10k records are decades old. Takes too long to run an event. Nobody gets interested in it in high school. Carrie is the best cross and track commentator. I enjoyed her NCAA D1 cross champs commentary since probably 2000 but as I got into cross and track on the Katelyn Tuohy wave I have listened for her and savored her gracious and authoritative opinion. The wonderful thing about Carrie is that she is capable of being bubbly, piping and singing, all the while with gravitas. GRAVITAS. Please run for Congress, Carrie. PJT
She didn’t run the 5k nor did she run at NBN. She ran the mile at NON instead. I believe she was trying to get in some speed work before she races the 5k at the Olympic trials.
Addison’s last name is pronounced “kah-knob-blow”…. If you’re going to call a national championship maybe you should do a simple thing like find out how everyone’s name is correctly pronounced??
What is up with this male announcer? As Cheeseman is struggling in the last lap he referred to her as "roadkill". Really? He then called it a "weird" race. Has he never seen a race in which a leading runner bonks near the end of a race and loses pace and another runner feeling stronger comes on strong and sprints past them? How is this "weird"? It happens. Stupid commentary.

In the end, a slow time because the top distance girls were not here or not healthy. Really puts Leachmans time into perspective.

Good point. They have to have somebody who can figure out how to pronounce the athletes' names, and also place names like Boerne, TX (Beth Leachman).
