This poor woman has been let down, mislead and borderline abused by the health care system it would seem. Thank god she's now got you and your expertise on her side. This is fascinating. I'm going to check the follow up now. All the best for these lady, what an awful few years she'd had to endure through no fault of her own.

    OMG!
There is someone else that is diagnosed with what I had. I was diagnosed with RhinoCerebralMucormycosis in 2009. I have fifty or more surgeries. It is no joke. I was in a coma for three months. I also loss my right eye and I am so thankful for my doctors, who saved my life. Two months ago I had another surgery. They put my femur bone in my face to rebuild it. I pray that she gets better and maybe we can speak with one another. I don't know any other survivors.

@@unicornmadness6286nope India and I doubt they have malpractice suits like the US does. It's the 3rd leading cause of death here. Indian doctors are very different than US doctors even if they are practicing medicine here, like they know that you can have an infection and inflammation with normal blood markers. That's why so many people die here. I had an Indian doctor tell me that I was right about having bacterial meningitis at the point where it was causing rhabdomyolysis and compartment syndrome but kept getting told that I couldn't possibly have meningitis because my blood work would show it. I'm too afraid of going back to the hospital and trying to tell them that after 6 months they're laughing at me telling me that I should be dead already mocked because of their own negligence.

This is a very intense situation for this dear woman. What started with Covid ended up turning into such a terrible outcome for her. I need to do a lot of research into such conditions and end outcomes such as no septum etc and learn how it affects us/our breathing and so forth.
You are an amazing Doctor and always explain everything in relatively easy terms for us non medical types to kinda comprehend.
    Thankyou …Lisa x

Fascinating video with extensive analysis and discussion of the patient's significant infection and associated sequelae. This patient underwent severe hardship as a result of prior experiences with negligent medical personnel. Very impressed that the histopath and culture results came back so quickly, and very surprised no fungi were present at all on culture. This was the worst case of bacterial osteomyelitis infecting facial bones that I have seen. Thank you for treating her and for making this video. She would have likely suffered for a few more months or years before sepsis and death had you not intervened and treated her. Amazing video, excellent discussion, and phenomenal care, Dr. K.!

I had covid 7 weeks ago and I had major sinus inflammation and lots of pain. My eye sight was also affected on day 2 of covid and I started getting Ocular Migraines with the black spots and the zigzag aura up to 6 weeks after date of infection. The pressure behind my eyes was unbelievable and I was worried I was going to have permanent damage to my eyes. I still have to take cold meds as night as the sinus still wants to swell and clog up. I did see an Ophthalmologist after the 2 week mark & was given steroid and antibiotic drops which helped immensely. Seeing this as a result of covid makes me nervous. I never want covid again!

I have a deviated septum and have a hole from one side to the other if you look up into my nose. When it first started falling apart it was the most disgusting thing ever the smell inside my nose and the taste I had in my mouth was so horrible. I would eat mint life savers like they were going out of style. I remember just thinking I had a sinus infection and I blew my nose really hard and a big piece of dead cartilage came out. I had to go in for surgery and have the dead area around the hole where the cartilage and bone came from. Now I have a big hole there and it was horrible to go through I can't imagine having to go through something like this. I wonder why she let it get to this point before going to get it fixed? I let mine go because it was from drug use and I was ashamed of it and still am. Thankfully she found a very good doctor

This lady is now being seen by someone who knows what has to be done and will do whatever he needs to do to help her not only heal but live!! I hope she is doing better and I hope we get to see how well she's doing. I have to say this video scared me to death. Several years ago I had to go to the hospital because my nose was bleeding and had a very strong odor coming out of it. The doctors gave me a shot of benadryl and I went into anafalactic (?) shock. They had to do a lot of things to bring me back and alert. Come to find out I'm allergic to benadryl. But because of how bad my nose got I now have to be very careful around the left side of my nose. If I get cut, scratch my nose or clip a long nose hair I get MRSA. It crusts up inside my nose, becomes painful and takes forever to heal. The only thing I can do is to try to put some ointment on it to help the healing process and try not to mess with it or it spreads even more. So God Bless You for taking care of this lady and sending prayers for her to heal 🙏

Well a mri was not done. Her vision was not proper as claimed by her relatives. Also they had no record of the pre op ct scan report with them . My experience says with just ct scan one should not operate to such extent . Mri scan shows in depth involvement of actual fungus inside eye and differentiates between just inflammation in eye ( also can cause blindness ) and deep fungal destruction of optic nerve along with globe . If it was just inflammation then her eye could have been saved instead of removing it.
