Thanks for the info. In the video when you made an Irish cream fluid gel could you use agar in that to set the liquid ?? Love the idea of a baileys fluid gel using agar. Thank you :)
Thanks for the info, Guys, I have a question. Several years ago, I tried a recipe for gel air fresheners calling for animal gelatin. I tried agar, and got a good texture, but no smell release at all. Any suggestions on fragrance? Maybe another product or combo would be better? Or, perhaps, it's just that I didn't do the agar right. Thanks!
will this work to make a thick syrup. Im tryna make a thick maple syrup thats not cloudy. Tried xanthum but it was thick but had a runny gel snotty consistency which was yuck. what can i do ive been trying everything
@@Modernist_Pantry thanks! I tried to use it, before your response came through. Result was what you said above. But after 3 days, the gummies started to become elastic. I found vegan gelatine powder and got the gummy texture!
What kind of a taste does this "super" agar have? I was disappointed that this presentation didn't address that whatsoever, except just to say that the taste was muted down from the original product.
Super Agar does not add any taste to your dishes. What happens when you gel with agar is that it mutes the flavor of what you're gelling so if you're gelling with agar you want to amp up the flavors.
@@Modernist_Pantry Thanks so much for your quick response. I have heard it both ways, that it adds a distasteful flavor, like gelatin can do (from my experience), or no flavor at all. I am still trying to learn about this.
@@craig4830 Agar quality vary greatly from supplier to supplier. If you're using a semi-refined version as opposed to our highly refined version perhaps there is a taste, but we have never had this issue.

You can make an agar fluid gel, the ratios will be different
@@Modernist_Pantry what process would you recommend to make an Irish cream fluid gel using agar ?? Thanks :)
Way too much waffle. How about demonstrating how to ACTUALLY make the gel with quantities and ratios?
We have another episode all about fluid gels -

That's a great question but unfortunately out of our wheelhouse, we work exclusively with food and fragrance release hasn't come up in our research.
Why they go hand and hand. Hope you research it

You can't use agar to thicken. You can use xanthan but it sounds like you're using wayyyyy too much.
That Mark Frechette guy is super annoying and difficult to watch. I’m not upset that he’s no longer there.
It's all ❤ here at MP 🙂
can i use super agar to make gummies?
Agar does not have the elasticity required for gummies. Your gummy will be very stiff and breakable.
