    When I did the 225 in my old Willys I used everything out of A 1969 jeepster commando. not the T 90 worked out way better than the old t90 stuff. I even used the trans cross member. Good luck

    For the bell housing clearance use gear reduction starter and the nose of starter is smaller so you can trim some of the bell housing then I added a little bit longer bump stop

    • @redclaytraveler1949

      What starter did you use? You had a clearance issue with the front driveshaft and bell housing?

      I like that fix better than the suspension lift but I haven’t had time to look into it much

    My father had a pretty big collection of hit an miss engines, he sold most of them off a few years ago. Had some really rare ones too, but he also had a Novo though I don't remember what the HP was on it it was quite a bit taller than yours. Not very many makes used the vertical cylinder, I always thought it was neat. I think they applied themselves well for marine use and for pumps due to their more compact nature. When we were kids we each had one that was "ours", mine was an early century Root and Vandervort; I got to keep it when I moved to GA, I keep meaning to start it one of these days. We used to go to shows where people brought these things from all over the place in New England, it was cool. Good luck with the job, it's hard to express how good it feels to have some stability in the income area when you've been without it for a while. Plus, you need that health insurance so you'll go see the doctor before you end up sick as a dog...:)

    Just thought of something. On my 71 cj there is a simple bracket welded to frame with rubber bumper that prevents the spring from going to frame during a good hit. Not all have this and no book shows it but i finally got the crown number for the rubber. Ive got the 13 thin leaves up front and they move more than i would think.

    • @redclaytraveler1949
      @redclaytraveler1949  3 месяца назад

      Yeah I believe you are talking about the almost triangle shaped rubber bump stop that keeps the axle from contacting the frame?

    • @johndoe43
      @johndoe43 3 месяца назад +1

      @@redclaytraveler1949 no it has that one also like all of them. This is a bracket welded to the bottom edge of frame. It is behind the front axle. Rubber bumper of coarse faces the top surface of the frame. Probably need to send you a picture of it. Even the dealership books don't show it. Took a while to hunt down the bumper. It threw Jeep for a loop. They had never seen it. Simple to make but not to explain.

      @@redclaytraveler1949 just had a thought it may have come with dealer winch or snowplow which this Jeep had. Thought your truck may have had them but didn't see them in the video. I keep forgetting that not all had them. I think mine is the only ones I've seen. But Jeep did finally find the rubber bumpers for them. So pretty sure it was from the factory

    • @johndoe43

      @@redclaytraveler1949 sorry. I said bumper faces the frame. Wrong. The rubber faces the top surface of the spring. Getting old and I hate typing 😆

    Came across a supercharged v6 in a Buick at upull&pay. Was having to snatch 3.7 out of a Jeep. Came bake two days later and someone had what looked like taken a prybar and channel locks to the motor. 🤯😠

      @@redclaytraveler1949 that may be the best option. Sounds like not many spring options. You might want to check national spring and see what they say. Cool that jeepster man has an option.
