    Brianna returns for her second visit where her skin is showing much improvement after 8 weeks of her home care regimen though she has sustained a chemical burn on her neck from an over-the-counter skin tag remover. We address this with a soothing treatment before turning our attention back to her face; treatment today includes both an exfoliating and purifying mask, massage with shea butter cream, and some extractions followed by retinol for healing.
    Nerida Joy provides skincare tips and secrets collected from her 40 years experience working with A-list celebrities in order to educate and give you facts about how to care for your own skin.

    Hi Nerida,
    What do you normally use after extraction? We are just use liquid solution which have a little glycolic acid in. But some clients still have black spots after extracted ,even though we are using a good care.
    Can i have your advice please?.thank you

    Nerida, what did the lotion-toner have, aha? You mentioned its best to use retinols especially on open skin. Thank you :)

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад

      Yes, the retinols will not fry the skin after extractions like an aha will on a darker skin tone. There is a very small amount of aha in the cleanser and toner but this will not fry anything.... both are made for very sensitive skin. I am referring to professional aha's that i do in treatments:))

    • @NeridaJoySkincare

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 лет назад +2

      AHA’s are okay, but watch the strength and pH of the AHA’s you are using. Use the exfoliating mask and mix it with healing gel, 1:1 ratio. That will be good for most people.

    Hi Nerida, thank you so much for this informative video. I am having problems with my skin quite recently. I have introduced a spf into my routine which is specifically made for sensitive and acne prone skin. When I first started using it, it really made my skin look clear and glowy even my forehead was very clear and it usually has small bumps on it. Now recently I have come out in painful spots randomly appearing one at a time every week on my chin and cheek area. I haven't done anything different but Im wondering if it could be the weather change here in the UK? Its gotten very hot all for a sudden and now its not so hot, so could that be a reason or is it the spf thats maybe not as hydrating as I thought? Thank you so much xx

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад +2

      painful pimples are always hormonal. The sebaceous glands are more active in the summer months, and, certain product ingredients may stimulate/effect your hormones too. So, it could possibly be your sunblock if thats all you have changed, and the weather is hot:))

    • @NeridaJoySkincare

    Is surface dryness dehydration?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад +2

      Surface dehydration, yes. Dehydration can also be internal (dehydrated organs) which also shows on the skin as a deeper dehydration :))

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 лет назад +3

      Yes, when you are looking at the skin, dehydration/surface dehydration/surface dryness are referring to the same thing-the tiny little lines and that cellophane-like appearance when you move the skin.

    So we don’t always have to use a steamer on the face to remove black heads? Is the massage and product as effective for loosening sebum in place of steam?

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 лет назад +1

      Amy Cribbs you definitely do not have to use steam. It will aid in the penetration of your products, but it is not always a necessity.

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад +2

      If my client has heat/inflammation within, I don't like to use steam at all throughout the facial. And yes, massaging in certain products can hydrate a dehydrated skin making extractions easier to be preformed:))
