  • I was filming the Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City at around 5:30AM on June 20th, 2024. I was doing a manual orbit and went to widen the orbit by backing up a little, when the drone crashed into the roof of a nearby apartment building. I was devastated! I thought for sure I had lost my drone for good. But I had to try, so I went to the vestibule of the apartment building and pushed a button to talk to a security guard, or whoever would answer I guess. I man answered and I explained why I was there. He said he would make some phone calls and would get back to me. In the meantime people were leaving the building, I guess on their way to work, and most would hold the door open for me to get inside, but I explained to each one of them that I didn't live there, etc, etc. So after quite some time I pushed the button again, but now nobody was answering. So when the next person held the door open for me, I went inside. That person said I should try the fifteenth floor. So I took the elevator all the way up and looked around. I couldn't find anything that sais something like roof access, but there was a door that said Elevator Motor. I went in there and up some stairs, and eventually found a smaller set of stairs that led to a small door. That opened up on to the roof! I went out there and started looking around. I found a set of metal stairs that led to a higher platform so I could hopefully see around more. At that point the controller made a noise or something indicating it was connected to the drone again, so I hit the "Find My Drone" button and made the drone beep and flash. I could hear it was behind me and was laying on top of metal duct work just past the door I had come through before. i went back down those metal stairs and the drone was just within reach right about eye level! It was one of the happiest moments of my life, lol
