- Strudwick, Brown and Rishaug break down a thrilling game 1 of the Western Conference Final. McDavid ends the game early in the 2nd overtime period and Stuart Skinner was excellent in the Edmonton net.
Totally agree Shaugger. Skins saw everything. He looked like a different goalie. Tracking, moving quickly. It was amazing. His game is so mental!

i think part of skinmans issues last series was that the oilers just didnt match up well against the canucks. they struggled against them all year.

Excellent perceptive comment by Browie about Foegele over stick handling the puck on his breakaway. I think he needs to simplify his game, not trying to dipsy-doodle so much. Drive to the net. Ensure to take any/all shots on net. Ditto for McLeod. Go for rebounds.

Better competition gets the fire lit for the Oilers... they can play down to worse teams BUT play up to better ones...
I also think that the Oilers play better against skilled teams that have a sound structure, and play worse against teams that play more chaotic....like the Canucks, Arizona, Anaheim
Best Oilers hockey podcast but if I could make a suggestion....the Brownie points segment needs some refinement. The Brownie points essentially have no meaning. There appears to be an infinite supply so even a Million or a Billion Brownie points can be dished out. If there was a set supply then they would have a little more meaning.
What if there was a total of 44 (Browns number) Brownie points given out each segment?

Skinner haters in shambles again. Great win for the boys well deserved.
There's no Skinner "haters". He's simply left a lot of us without huge faith in him with his very streaky play. Tonight he was on fire though.
I joked around in the Nielsen show this morning.... " my question is , how are the Oilers are going to handle Tkachuk and goalie Bob"....I was kind of serious. I know it's early, but for some reason , I'm not worried about the Stars...of course, doesn't hurt when ya got Connor McDavid.
Couldn't agree with you more... I've always laughed when guys would put Skins down, as if he let a floater in from center ice.
He's a good goalie...no two ways about it. I think what the problem is with Oiler fans( and other Canadian markets), they only watch Oiler games. They don't see that all top goalies let in questionable goals once in a blue moon, Fleury, Hellyebuck, Bob, Vasilyevsky.....all d men cough up the puck once in a blue moon.
I watch far too much hockey over a season *almost addicted*, I guess that's why I'm not too harsh on Skinner. I see a lot of bad goals let in, coughed up pucks. Things that NHLers should have gotten out of their system long time ago.

Thank You!!! I've been saying this all season long. People think their goalie/players do dumb crap that no other teams do. If you watch other teams you'll see Quinn Hughes do something just as stupid defensively as anything Bouch has ever done.
Or Bob giving up a couple of atrocious goals for Florida.
It's all about perspective, and most fans don't have any lol.
@johanstinson exactly...I was talking to one guy complaining about something Bouchard did in January...I said "did you watch Makar last game cough up the puck ....it resulted in a goal"
I showed him, he didn't say much.... They all do it, it's an extremely difficult, fast league.
