🔧 Toyota Tundra Troubles:
Toyota has VOLUNTARILY recalled 102,000 Tundra trucks (2022-2023 models) due to a potential manufacturing error causing engine failures. The V35A-FTS 3.5L Twin Turbo V6 engine has been flagged, but Toyota is proactively addressing the issue to maintain its reputation for reliability.

The GR86, known for its track-ready performance, has faced engine failures during track use. @zirkh1609 you are correct, the Tundra is made in San Antonio and the Tacoma is made in Guanajuato, Mexico. Both are plagued with issues! However, the Tundra price didn't change much, but the Taco, drastically changed.

Apparently you forgot about the unintended acceleration issue when Toyota tried to hide the issue as far back as 2004 and came to light in 2010.
Wife has 11th Gen. 2022 Honda Civic Touring it's a 1.5L Earths Dream i-4 Turbo since Fall 2022 and as of June 2024 has 6,300 miles. We live in the Northeast, average annual snowfall of 126 inches, and her job is 6 miles round trip, not often on the highway, just saying in many ways short drives. Said short range driving and cold weather contributes to Oil Dilution. So far no signs of it and the 2022 Civic Touring been serviced 3 times now (6 mo., 12 mo., and 18 month routine maintenance). The 10th Gen was the one with Oil Dilution problems.
One problem at the Honda Factory/Assembly Plants is the use of defective body parts, They do not care if there are ridges, uneven cuts, scratches, marks, bad paint job, and large Gaps when put together. We will just refer that Honda makes LEGO SNAP ONS. Yes! Honda's quality and workmanship have declined in the last 10 to 20 years. It's all about going Green, or less Emissions, and adding lots of Technology gadgets or semi-functional Safety Features that will either distract you, intimidate, aggravate, lot of lights flashing, and become annoying while driving. For all this crap, less quality and pay a fortunate for the Technology. One Recall been for Electronic Steering, Honda Tech looked at it, and took a Photo and sent to Honda Company. Total time in labor between 5 to 10 minutes but the Honda Dealership needed the car for the whole day as the scheduled appointment was 7:30am ... I was not a walk-in. Civic was ready to be picked up at 4pm as I was called at 3:50pm. It would have been simpler to have waited there providing they do the work at the appointed scheduled time. What's 10 minutes vs the inconvenience that my wife had no car all day.
I have a 2023 Camry XSE V6, I have consistantly complained about Very Poor MPG. It gets average of 16.99MPG. Window sticker 22 City/ 26 avg,/32 Highway and I am 9 MPG below average.
Toyota trying to convince me that the tires are causing low MPG. I'm not biting. It's an engine problem or computer that not calibrated for the injectors or fuel-air mixture. Toyota has refused to do anything about it.
I would accept 2 to 3 below but 9 is way too high. Toyota is just as bad as Honda. Bottom line is about profit and don't care about the person who purchased one of their vehicles.
Supposedly, Recalls will be occurring more often in the near future.
The EPA emissions on vehicles is making vehicles very unreliable, especially in semi trucks

You didn't do your homework.
The engines are blowing anywhere between 1k miles to 30k miles. From 22-24. From different manufacturering plants. Please do your homework next time.
Its common sense that a smaller forced induction engine will not last as long or be as reliable as a NA v8. You also failed to mention that Toyota moved truck production to Mexico to save on labor while increasing prices. Nissan is now the only one selling a NA v6 mid size truck. The taco costs 50k with a turbo 4 but the na v6 Frontier starts at 30k. No question.
Unless they go insane like the 2jz GTE. But not going to happen because of cost. Still better than turbocharged Honda Fit engine and put into CRV.
What you're saying about the Tundras isn't true. Hopefully you're just unaware, because the alternative would be worse...but there are numerous owners who've had to get their failed engines replaced in the hybrid variant of the Tundra. Toyota may not have included them in the recall, but not being included does not equal not being affected by a problem that is grenading engines. And if these engines in the hybrid trucks don't have the machining debris issue, that also means Toyota hasn't really figured out the true root cause -- or worse, they're not disclosing it, and also trying not to address it across all versions of the Tundra. The truth is, we don't know if Toyota has figured the problem out, but the best-case scenario is that they haven't! Because if they have, they're either blaming it on machining debris when it may be something elae entirely, failing to take care of hybrid version owners even though they're also experiencing the same engine failure, or both.
I'm a Toyota guy with 3 of their vehicles currently, not a hater. But the Tundra problem is a bigger one than the recall suggests. Also... it's nice to say they did a great thing by voluntarily recalling these, but let's not pretend they did that before stories of these engines failing started to get widely reported all over RUclips and other media. This was a reactive move, not a proactive one, and saying otherwise is disingenuous at best.
Eventually, all great ones will fall.

I already moved away from Toyota fans. My wife (brand new) 2017 Highlander platinum only 50K miles today have many electrical issues. I thought Toyota is bullet proof? Anyway, this is my last Toyota to own.

And this is the problem with…EVERYTHING nowadays.
Finding a cheaper solution to a problem. A good example is the Honda Fuel pump recall. Notice how it affects 2018+ models? Now WHY would it affect only 2018+ models instead of 2017?
And the smaller more powerful engines? WHY do we have 1.5 Turbos that can’t handle 200 hp? We can’t we just make them 2.0’s and THAT can handle the underpowered 200 hp.
Why can’t we just build things more reliable for the consumer? Is this so the parts department can’t loose money again like Mercs? WAKE UP

I own 3 Toyotas. I will not buy another. I do not want a turbo. I do not want a battery powered truck. How do you make 100,000 plus engines and leave maching particles behind? If you own a V6 Tundra you may be taking the shoe leather express for a year or more waiting for a new engine. You are embarrassing yourself making this video. No one with a brain will ever buy a 22 through 24 Tundra. Toyota will not recover from their turbo debacle easily.

Have owned many Toyotas and will keep buying until they leave me stranded like GM and Chrysler (lifetime powertrain warranty that every claim is a root canal). Toyota has always stepped up so far and I will keep buying T’s until they stop.

Drove a Camry in the U.S. for years. Drove a Troopie in West Africa for a couple years. Both were exceptional. Sure hope Toyota turns this around.

Toyotas never been reliable unless you replaced all the parts.
Maybe the 350 new workers that were recently hired for the Alabama twin turbo V6 factory are going to build thousands of new long blocks that will be installed in the affected 2022 on up vehicles at no charge to the customer. Maybe these new engines will have new engineering features that will prevent the overloading and/or overheating of the front main crankshaft bearing that has been causing them to fail.

Rather than ignoring the issue and get hefty fines, issue costly recall, and damage brand reputation, Toyota just do an early recall and I don't think it's something to cheer on or upset because the other car manufacturers not doing the same thing. I hope Toyota will do it right and not try to kick the can down the road with a quick fix

@@TheRealCatof if you wait until the government got involved, issued a penalty, and forced you to recall millions cars, the does not sound proactive to me. Maybe Huyndai/KIA be more proactive next time. Also, there's a class action lawsuit against them for engine fire for some models from 2010-2020
@@hungson215 They did issue the recall voluntarily, not sure exactly why they got fined, but Toyota got fined more for lying about emissions.
@@TheRealCatof Oh really? When did they fix the missing immobilizer problem? That went on for years until finally it blew up on TikTok with 'Steal a Kia' challenges. That's when they finally addressed the issue.

I find an interesting observation thpugh,why is it north of 75% tundra,s, a few LX600,s, bit the LS 500 and LS600 car,(the new generation,has had a modified twin tirbo v6,same model,slightly different,working since 2018 without so mich as a hickup.Now Toyota is haveingengine seize up problems,2nd did they change the mfg spec on the oil to somethimg tjat flows fast than water,(and evaporates just as fast to?No lubrication / No engine? You tube reseach is pointing sone stuff out,bit NOT confirmed! ok my 2 cents. I still love toyota, and lexus.My last 4 vehicles were Lexus.2 are not withe anymore,2 are.All have served me well intill (Outside influences) came into play! I love Lexus vehicles, but with all the shit going on with tje twin tirbo v6.Tundra,some LX600 included.Im not in the market foe a new vehicle,especially at that price point,but if i was,I would get an old school 2018 or 2019,or the past V8 powered LX570. They do t break down,change oil and filter,and thats it!An engine going put at that price point.No Blessed Thank You. Ols school LX570,s GX460,s even LS460,s (that are maintained),andthese issues are alein nation to Lexus.At least untill now.I wouldnt co cider a lexus until this shit gets a guarantee of making it right.Meantine,there are Prenty of pld sch lexus,s out here.change ,all,fluids,filters,use good gas.alein nation stays in its place.My 2 cents. 1ur 3ur V8 lover for life!!!💯
