I don’t understand how I’m suppose to get a set of stickers if they keep selling out. I told the wife I was gonna get a set next run. So thanks everyone for supporting Matt as we all do but could have left a set for me though.
Who doesn't want to be a Hoonigan, they didn't have a name for it til Ken dubbed it and he is the King of the Hoon, but any knucklehead who grew up around old dirt and gravel roads has a little Hoon in them !
Got my stickers last week. THANK YOU. It’s a proud RC moment. One of them went on my 1:1 Tacoma. Free advertising! Also, thanks for reminding me that 43 years old was a scant 8 years ago for me. *sigh*
I would have loved to get my hands on the HPI version. I think for the money it should have been brushless. I do own the 1/7 and 1/16 zd racing version but those are unlicensed. Love the look of these cars.
Omg my $150 awd tacon would shit all over this truck on just a 2s. ...3s and it would be real bus lengths ahead. 😳$460 I don't get why someone would spend that.
That dig at the start, I applaud you good sir. Personally lost pretty much all respect for them with the Hoonicorn VS the world, but none of that matter with an RC car. Associated did a pretty good job with the car, it doesn't seem to bode well for HPI if they lost the licensing for Hoonagin stuff.
It’s insane it’s not brushless for that price ! They are not a top rc company so they could have used the additional sales a brushless version would have brought them for sure.
LOL you and Curbs! I think I might be interested in getting one of those. The Microphone is really cool also. I'm also thinking of starting a RUclips channel myself. All of my Grand-kids want to be RUclipsrs now. I've got to convince them to go to college first somehow. Regardless that microphone is in my future for sure. Great video Matt. See you soon at PBT.
Only a few people can make a full time living as a RUclipsr, so I'd suggest that they just do it as a side hustle! Enjoy the microphone and see you at PBT!
Stupid stupid upgrades, he says. This guy… You know most of us can’t leave well enough alone! Love your videos Matt. And I got my stickers!!! Thank you!
I ended up snagging a Hoonitruck and dropped a brushless system in it. Not a clue as to how fast it goes but it zips for sure. The original tires have been sufficiently killed. Ken would be proud. Now I gotta find a decent replacement for those tires. Any suggestions?
My first (and only) purchase from Team Associated was an Element 1:24 crawler. Once is enough for me. I am not willing to risk another purchase from them.
Have to agree with Matt. The 1:24 crawler they sell is a rebranded RGT. The Sendero and Ecto are excellent trucks. I have 2 Element based comp trucks. They are durable and the axles are capable of good steering angle. The stealth transmission is quiet and the optional overdrive gearing is really nice to have. Element shocks are very smooth too
You’re probably safe at getting 2 or 3 times more stickers printed next time. I can’t imagine that you’ll be stuck with them. Just saying…. Missed them again ☹️
I bought the hoonitruck….and then recently bought a replacement hoonicorn clear body! I’m assuming the same chassis is used for both rigs? I just couldn’t see spending the over priced list for 2 vehicles ….
@@scalebuildersguild I went and looked at my hoonitruck chassis vs your video of the hoonicorn and the chassis look dang near identical.. Other than the body mounts I don’t see many differences that I can see…
It actually lost to an Audi (don’t remember the model) that was absolutely SICK!!! That car was nasty. My goodness!! But yeah the Honnicorn otherwise disposed of all other would be competitors quite easily. Even with Ken’s 15 yo daughter behind the wheel.
The Audi tied, as it was best 2 out of 3 and they ran a fourth bonus race which it won. The whole thing was rigged heavily in the Hoonicorns favor, the Audi couldn't run bias ply drag tires, Rod Dahm had no idea how to drive his car and everything else was so under powered or heavy they never stood a chance.
Great now we have to listen while he drives the vehicle's! Just kidding Matt. Great looking car and review but unfortunately your Kevin Talbot magic sucks so leave it to Kev lol! What was the original speed in stock form? 18mph? Love your videos and man the earth roamer is so nicely done!! I'll give you $4000 pesos for it 😉
Great looking car but the price puts me off, it should have f come set brushless. Feels like your paying a lot for the license. But it does look sick, great stuff thank you. 👍
This was a fun video hahahaha. Something you should do more of. Some people may say, "what's the point of this"... I say "Whats not the point" Hahaha. I do really like this car. I'm debating building a drift style car. Or something I can go drift amd grip..... with hahaha T/a did a great job woth this. They are really coming along. I think it was hpi who did alot if this first. But they.... Sadly are well... hpi... haha. Not really doing a whole lot but still doing stuff... Haha. Cool mics to Time to get something doing 100mph. Ok 100kph. Haha. Good stuff. 😎👍👍
Hello Sir. On the next run of Sticker can you make 72100 sticker sheets you have that many Subscribers. And any of us that has subbed most likely wants a sticker. Thanks for being awesome 😎
I still can’t believe that HPI was able to totally squander the Ken Block/Hoonigan/Ford licenses. They had a golden goose to pull the company out of the disaster they got themselves into and still managed to ruin it, just like Ken Block does anytime he gets behind the wheel of a WRC car.
No way in H E Double hockey sticks I'd pay more than $200 for this lame disappointment!! Im guessing about $600 all in for a car that won't break 35?!?!? Tis a slap in the face.
Nice car but I think they ask vor to much money vor a brushed system. If they would sell it with a brushless setup the price would be ok. So sad. Tamiya TT01E comes with a nice brushed system 40kph an just vor a 100€ including bearings.

Don't worry I wanted a set too to stick on my crawlers

I used to be 43 years old too. Wild that we have that in common! 😛
😂
Don't worry Matt, I'm 63. Keep up the great work 👍
That black box and motor setup is fire. I'll definitely keep this in mind for my up grades
Wow thats super cool! the Lark is just what all the budding channels need! Oh an the car looks rad an stuff.
Dang that hoonicorn is quick. An the tire shredding I thought was going to catch fire😂
I'm also currently not 43 years old. A few years from now I will be, but then I plan to return to the "not 43" club.
😂
Oh dang, shots fired.

Cool!😜
Matt, the audio was good. Video even better. Like button selected.
Thank you!
Do you happen to have a full parts list of everything you changed? I'm looking at upgrading mine and would love some good recommended parts!
I don't have a list, but every part is in the video. Thanks for watching!
These things are awesome. Even though I’m a mustang hater I love the hoonicorn.. your videos are always great
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
$460 for a brushed RTR is a looooot of branding to pay for. Definitely should have been brushless at that price point.
Omg my $150 awd tacon would shit all over this truck on just a 2s. ...3s and it would be real bus lengths ahead. 😳$460 I don't get why someone would spend that.
That was a bad ass burn out! 👌😂👍cool looking car too!
I'd like to chat with who had the brushed idea, just saying. Attention to detail is legit
I really like this chassis. Well done and I like the new audio upgrades as well.
Thanks! 👍
Oh yeah, I see the resemblance👨🎤
A two product influencer video…I’ll allow it. 🤙🏽
😂
Awesome looking car and definitely a sweet mic setup.
Your stickers sell out so fast and that car looks super fun kinda wonder if someone 1.0 scale wheels and tires would work for some really on there
Way too small. Thanks for watching!

Brushed set up is only 1 or 2 mph slower than the brushless set up that was put in. It is a smaller 1:10 size car.
Huh? Top speed in brushed is closer to 22mph. This is a significant upgrade on the same gearing.
The mic is so good I heard that lady whisper ‘Nerd’ as she walked by. Lol

The hoonicorn was cool… but I couldn’t help noticing the little red Chevy in the background was missing some mud, like….a lot of mud.

When you going to take that mud truck for a spin!?
Soon! There hasn't been any mud, but it rained today... so we'll see!

? 4 front sand tires would be ideal for a tire shred video, what you were going to take them to a swap meet ? 😆✌
😂
What scale is it? Is it same size as a Tamiya TT-02?
They call it a 10th scale. You can find all the specs on the website.
I’ve been wanting one of these but the price point.. for a brushed system is keeping me from pulling the trigger
I've done those things too. But I crashed more.
Id put a tacon brushless in they're dirt cheap and capable of easy 60mph on a 3s
I'm still running 2s because that's all the ESC can handle.

Leave the eyes on and see how long it takes someone else to notice.
32 seems slow for a brushless setup, or am I in the minority on that?
For the size of the car, and stock gearing, it's a pretty good improvement!
Rip block 43
for a brushed onroad car, the price is a bit too much for me
Fair enough... I agree!
