The motor oil and gear oil changes are best performed after the engine has warmed up and those lubricants flow more easily. Also important to check the motor oil level a second time after driving around the block to allow the fluids to distribute.
Thanks for making this vid. I change my oil often, usually because I'm upgrading parts. Few months ago, I had pressure issues that the motor under stress would shoot oil up out the fill neck. I'm still remedying the problem, but I deduct it's the lack of a PCV that the bike DIDN't come with. I've got an oil cooler ready to install soon and will fill with Royal Purple 10W-30. Hopefully, I can totally circumvent the pressure buildup issue under load. Watching this sets some good reminders.
Excellent video . I just got a new TaoTao Quantum 150cc and the engine setup in this video is identical to mine. I had changed my oil but I do need to get a plastic measuring cup to measure out the correct amount of oil.
Thanks great video. I just hit 500 miles on my TaoTao PowerMax 150 and it's running great and I'm doing my second oil change to 20w 50 this Florida heat.I was just now getting like a slight hesitation then grabbing in the clutch when accelerating from a dead stop so I removed variator cover and it was full of black dust. I cleaned it out and it's accelerating smooth again. Do you think this is what was causing the problem? And is this normal to have to get the dust out on a new bike at 500 miles? Thanks again great channel I just subscribed.
Can gear oil be checked to see how much is in there? I have a small gear oil leak and the dealership said it was nothing to worry about because it was likely overfilled and that it’s excess gear oil coming out of a vent. I brought my scooter in for the first service but they only changed the engine oil. Do you think the leak will stop if I change out the gear oil and make sure not to overfill? I have a 2019 Kymco 150 like. Thanks for the great content on your channel.
I hadn’t changed mine in about 3000 miles just out of laziness. It started stuttering and bogged out on me. Changed both engine and transmission oil and it ran for about a quarter mile before it bogged out again
Now I understand. You used the T5 for the scooter because it has a CVT, and not a manual wet clutch system. I haven’t watched a video of yours about the oil change on the motorcycle yet, if you have one. I’m pretty sure that motorcycle has a wet clutch. So, hoping you did homework and used a wet clutch JASO-MA oil lol
Man,you just decided to spend some money on a new variator ,today? why? what will it be tomorrow,a new crankshaft, maybe? You just don´t go blindly replacing good parts... I enjoy your videos, they let me see how a scooter is put together, one more up....
Parts are super cheap on amazon, and well worth the confidence that they are good. And thanks for watching, good reminder to get more scooter content. She is looking sad in my garage
That’s not the best way to drain oil ........ Did you clean the filter NO . Why did you not use compressed air to blow the remaining oil and gunk I do and the crap you can remove is scary I use a tin of air works just as well as professional shop . And again with the gear sump the amount of glitter that would come out of the gear sump would surprise you and you really don’t want that pushing around your gears wearing them down .

Clear and straightforward. Great video. Thanks mate.

What is welded to your exhaust? Between your oil dip stick location and the exhaust hookup. It's going upwards..
Great video. Thumbs up. I have a 2016 TaoTao 49cc, what weight of gear oil should I use? Also it only has 500km, when should I change it

Nice video with a lot of information!
Utv 200cc gy6 engine automatic with reverse gear oil viscosity?tnx
The top fill bolt won't come out. Any suggestions.
Hej Joe co dělat když je připečený čep Variátoru.
Thanks for the info! You're the man.
Hi how are you doing why do my scooter using to much petrol
Thoughts on "hypoid" gear oil for the final drive? A mechanic friend of mine swears by it for these gy6 Chinese scooters.
My Lance 200i Cabo manual calls for 85-140 Hypoid gear oil...

Where is the small bearing ball????
Subscribe !!!! thx for the great vids... Hey, what type of oil are you running ?
Thanks for watching, and please share online. I use rotela diesel oil, 5w-20. Cheap and cleans.
What's wrong if the fly wheel not turning
They give you 2 different oils specs one says use 15w-40 and another says to use 10w-40
Should a variator be filled with grease mine has a lot of grease in it I mean everything inside is coated in gobs of it
Hey joey my flywheel magnet is rusty is that why I cant get a spark on my plug
?
is your kill switch off? battery charged? could be a bad fuse, ignition, or solenoid relay
No. the rust does not stop it from being a magnet.
How do you take it apart without an impact wrench
-.- you serious?
