      I have an issue with my 250cc scooter. When I go to take off it jerks a lot until I get going a bit. I have replaced my variator and belt. At first it stopped jerking but after a bit it went back to the old problem. Any idea what it could be? Could it be the clutch spring? I have not messed with that yet. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
      Thank you, George

    with some weights,
    those weights are not suppose to be just dropped in any ol way,there is a right and wrong way for the direction of the rollers to be set in,If there is a side that is showing more of the weight then that is the side that goes in the opposite direction the variator spins

    Good kid. Mostly right, but He's wrong though. Springs and rollers won't limit top speed ever. Impossible.
    RPM default under loading is changed only. So, to be clear.... more acceleration with stronger spring and lighter rollers (never reduces top speed), higher top speed with weaker spring and heavier rollers.
    Reported top speed losses are due to new parts and friction changes on the belt and things like that.

  • @danguy2009

    Rollers arent something you choose for acelleration or top speed. youll get the same top speed with a lot of weights roughly around the correct weight, youll only gain top speed if you had stupidly light weights to begin with so the motor was revving way above where it makes power. fit the correct weights that keep the motor in peak power.

    I recommend to everyone with a atv unless you drive in lakes and ponds get rid of your air box. I had one and it was limiting my atv to a crawl. Especially when it got dirty it eventually would die when given throttle. I removed it and added a pod high flow air filter. It went from dying upon take off to popping wheelies with motor power alone. This is 150cc gy6 lifan atv BTW.

    i got a adly 150cc quad atv it use the gy6 150cc and im a noob at scooter engines.
    stock it was limited by the cdi? atleast from what i read so a racing cdi should raise speed from stock 65kmh to 80kmh but im not sure havent tested...
    and on a quad you want torque atleast a bit but i also want it to do 80kmh so its not a horrible ride on the road... i will need to test the top speed now how it does...
    its all stock air box etc, just cdi changed. and a semi loose exhaust i think i will just cut it off and put a fake akrapovic that i have on it

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  6 лет назад

      I recommend 1000rpm blue mini clutch springs and a 2000rpm (heaviest you can find) clutch torque spring. Because the 1000rpm will let your clutch slip pretty much at idle; good for crawling. And the 2000rpm spring so you can stay in lower gear for longer.

      Leave it stock !!! The mods are all for scooters and bikes that want to go faster. We have a Hammerhead GTS150 and I will leave it bone stock as I do not need higher speed or acceleration but more torque. We use it to climb, mud-ride, etc. I might go for the 170cc BB upgrade kit at one point in life but for now all we did is to install a 26mm carb. The 24mm EPA mandated low-emission carb just gave us too many problems. The 26mm carb with its 26mm intake solved all the problems and the engine revs a little happier. Its perfectly balanced now !

    Lmao. At 2:20 his whole world exploded. Good job on the explanation and the video. Note to all, be careful adding too much grease as it may negate any changes you've done. You dont want most of the parts in your CVT slipping, i.e. clutch and variator have two face plates that grip the belt to operate and can slip easily if anything is on them. Even more, the clutch bell and clutch have to grip each other using brakes and slippage there can ruin performance greatly.

    real talk: centrifugal clutch and CVT wastes a lot of torque and no weight combo on the planet is going to sustain torque at lower diameter but high RPM to do something like 55MPH on a 5% gradiant at one-mile.. A lot of hype around CVT tuning with the GY6 scene.. Low-RPM torque is pretty easy though because it's easy to get large diameter at higher RPM with most of the weights and most of the force range on the back tire especially with a stronger clutch spring..

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  6 лет назад +1

      I agree 100%. I wish i could somehow make it to where there was no cvt and only a clutch, attached directly to the crank

    • @tjinspace7001
      @tjinspace7001 6 лет назад

      It's possible to mount just a sprocket in place of the CVT and have it work with the centrifugal clutch. It allows better control of the power band, but it's still a low-compression two-valve engine on a centrifugal clutch. Bore kit and shaving, porting, and polishing head is probably the tuning limit with a GY6. Small stroke and piston diameter, and they use weird alloy to make these Chinese motors so wear or cracking are too easy..

    • @marco21falcon
      @marco21falcon 6 лет назад

      It's interesting that you say this. We have been using cvt on our snow machines for eons. Now we have them on our side by sides. There are advantages and disadvantages. But I couldn't imagine having a straight centrifugal clutch on a snowmobile. It would roast right through everything downstream from it. The cvt allows for anyone using them to tune for the best rpm for gear ratio changes. Without that... you would only Have power in a very small area of rpm/ speed

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  6 лет назад

      I bet the snow mobile cvt's are actually built to last. Unlike this gy6 pos. But its alright. Cvt is useful in snowmobiles, jet skis etc. were you need constant speed. For the streets, gears are the way to go!!

    • @marco21falcon
      @marco21falcon 6 лет назад

      Vasily Custom Builds jet skis have no gears..... direct drive. Can ams... polaris rzr.... and others use cvt. But they have so much power... we blow through belts of you can't lay off the throttle.

    My brother bought a rail buggy with a 150cc I believe it's a GY6. I was watching the motor on acceleration, and it moved/rocked front to back. Is this normal, or should I check to see if a mount is bad.
    This 1 has a top speed of maybe 25 mph. I've not checked it with speedo on GPS via my phone.
    He had another rail buggy same motor minus reverse gear and it did between 50-60 mph, but he sold it.

      From my knowledge 150cc engines are floating motors. A little rocking should be fine. Mine rocks a little. If the motion is too extreme, then there might be a problem. Thank you for watching! And thank you for your service!!

    you like many are so wrong about the waights. you will in most cases loose little to no top speed with the waight being adjusted but lighter will give faster take off. now with that sed the biggest thing with them is not even looking at it that way but the fact the the thing that makes the most different is rider waight and bike waight. you will find that you need to adjust things buy trying every waight. you also may want to look into getting a racing variator and possible sliders. sliders will make shure you have the max top speed at all times. you have to rember and keep in mind a belt will move to the same place with 10 gram waights as it will with 1 so their fore common cents shows you wil have the same top speed the only thing that will change that is if the waights are not correctly tunesd you will loose top speed to do slipping. and most times when replaceing cluch springs anything over 1.5k will not be a good thing.i also would like people to no you should never go below 3 gram waights inless you have a very heavy bike and rider and no matter what you do you belt will slip so you will need to use a kavlar belt.

      all i can do is give sugestions without being their but my biggest would be buy rollers in all sizes from 3 to 14 gram and try them all to see witch best fits you. this way you can diel in the right ones. once you have that you can buy a performance variator and try sliders sliders will only work on some variators and most stock will not work with them. what will happen if they are not compatable if you will go to stop and the engine will not rev down quickly still wanting to move the bike even tho you are stopping. most people i no who work on bikes and schooter and so on have send quite a bit of money to have all the waight sizes and different sprints in order to tune things properly they also use different equipment to test things. i my self use 4 gram sliders in my heavy bike and they work great and in my lighter bike 5 gram. the ligher bike can do 4 but only in rollers the heaver bike i just got some 3gram sliders fore and have not installed yet i never ordered them before since they do push the limits with the 4 gram in that bike. i get around 8500 rpms with them and i no from friends they say you can do 9500 safly and 3 gram should give you that but if you are going down hill it will rev higher and if you rev over 10000the can hurt and damage the bike. and that you truly should not go over 8500 inless you install all performance parts like a new rocker and complete performance cvt system. my friends do a lot of drag racing and they have seen people try and cheet and have a pistem break blowing it straight out the crank case. they like to call it the decapator or the sexchange as sometimes the pisdun will come out with so much fore if you installed a big bore the can will blow out the case and up threw the seat and hit people in the nuts. some people who buy just bikes just to get one or 2 races out of boring past the max sit on metal seats and fil the under them with fome.

    In gearless scooters, Should we apply little bit of grease on rollers and roller-grooves in variator for smooth spinning of rollers in variator?
    Or will it make more issues after some time like dust deposit, vibrations etc ? Please tell what should we do with proper reason.

    My friend thanks for your video, i have 2 questions:
    1.- I have a 150cc scooter, what spring color you recommend me to use?
    2.- For what reason, when I start accelerating the motorcycle, if I accelerate it quickly it starts to make small jumps, but if i accelerate slowly it does not give those little jumps a little bit. I need to purchase a new clutch?

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  6 лет назад +2

      1) Scooter is light, so I recommend Blue or Yellow
      2) small jumps is most likely a clogged carburetor, it could be bad spark, or just the belt is slipping. In that case you need a new belt

    Does any fluid goes in them trans and if so how to check what kind and where to put it in at

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  6 лет назад

      Yes. There should be a fluid fill bolt and drain bolt. If not you might have to take the seals apart. Usually you fill the fluid with anything, becuase it is a cheap engine. Atf fluid is the best

      hope this is the place to put this. i have transplanted a cn 250 out of a 2015 kandi buggy in to a 800 lb gem car golf cart, i ordered a red shorty spring and 19 gram weights and the cart seems to have slowed a lot at take off rpm high and it takes a while to get up to speed the mile an hour is a little slower about 38 mph. with stock weights and spring it took off alt faster and topped out at 42 mph. where did i go wrong. any help will be thankful. I have my 2012 model, 150cc, 250 kg odes brand utv. Utvs 61mm big bore kit, a12 camshaft, big jets, performance air filter, and j.costa front variator but back clutch is stock. It's driving 47 miles. But I want to do more speed. I want to change the back clutch springs. I have blue, yellow and red springs. what color springs should I wear for more speed?

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  6 лет назад

      Bedri Yagci those springs will not do anything. Maybe try a smaller sprocket

    More weight is for speed o force ??

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  5 лет назад +1

      You have to tune it yourself and see. Depends on the application. This is a very picky subject. Because heavier can do more top speed, but too much and it can decrease it

      Hey man you were spot on with explaining, in your video, having two gears. Using two separate, locomotive elements, inside of the "GEAR" box ((@Roythearcher)),is what propels or pushes that back tire for forward motion. why do people ((@Roythearcher)) feel the need to act like arrogant retards... is it lack of an imagination maybe??? Dude your video was great and very informative, keep up the good info vids.
