      Both this and the new IT trailer have been so great about that.
      I get that they have to make more trailers for marketing, but I won't watch any other trailer. This was a perfect amount of 'showing' without spoiling the whole movie.

    Holy shit. Not only are they giving the books it's just due but Mr Kubrick himself. He deserves to be part of the legacy of The Shining so I'm glad they arent just ignoring his work despite how King felt about it.

    • @AD98.
      @AD98. 5 лет назад

      Kubrick doesn't need some silly just due. The Shining is a part of Kubrick's legacy not the other way around.
      The Shining is but a very small thing compared to the man who made it.
      No one has ignored Kubrick's work lol. Kubrick is very widely celebrated as one of the best.
      King and his feelings aren't of any regard whatsoever.

    • @producedbyAntonio
      @producedbyAntonio 5 лет назад +4

      @@AD98. His work on The Shining could have been easily ignored if they went with this being only based on the books,which is what it was announced as (an adaptation of the book not a sequel to the movie). You're looking way too deep into my comment as it only pertains to The Shining and Kubricks work on the film.
      And while at the end of the day I couldnt agree more that Kubrick definitely made The Shining his own on his own platform,his film still wouldnt exist without the book.

    • @boscabruscairgang
      @boscabruscairgang 5 лет назад

      Actually, a lot of Wendy Carol's music for the film, never made it onto the film. The only scene which her music was used, was the opening scene. A lot of the music was by the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki. Kurbrick ended up not using Wendy Carol's music she composed for the film, as he thought it sounded too much like the music he used from Clock Work Orange. Carlos has said that "she was so disillusioned by Kubrick's actions that she vowed never to work with him again."

      "you're magic, like me" is a line that makes me wonder how hard is this film gonna butcher the shining, or at the very least try to explain it's mystery away.
      But at the same time I love Ewan Mcgregor so now i really am lost

      From what I’ve read online, Doctor Sleep is apparently going to take heavy influence from the book. Admittedly I’m biased towards the novels, but I’m very excited to see what they do, because I feel as if the books were organically connected in story and plot.

      They are also taking liberties with exact Kubrick visions while King has admonished anything other than his great, but flawed book. Some of these references are as close to kubricks vision as they could legally make it. I love the peace bridge that was built for this. Possibly bigger than Trump and North Korea, but stilll. This is a hack job that should’ve been left alone. I really hope to be proved wrong.

    Putting it out there. Can it just stand on its own. Redrum backwards was genius. Couldn't he have just left that with the first book? Jeez. Talk about thrashing it out. Sure he could have come with another wordplay gem. And yeah. This is coming from a rapper. Give us another wordplay at the same level instead of rehashing. Same again with face in the hole in the door. Turn down the volume please. The only way you could get any louder would be to give nicholson a cameo.

    There wasn't really any build up to the maniacy (not a real word, I know.) and it just made the Redrum part lame, it makes more sense if you've seen the original, but it wasn't executed quite like the Redrum scene in the original, I'm not trying to rag on a film in the trailer alone, and it doesn't need to be perfectly inline with the original, but a lot of the magic in the script, the mystery of the ending, not Jack in the picture, I mean what would happen to Wendy and Danny, so I think that's all it needs to do justice for. But I think I am looking forward to the film, just a bad and overly vague trailer, makes me more concerned about how the film will turn iutz and not the mysteries it's implying, but that mystery it implies I look forward to.

      @@925263 I just feel it could give a little more information, but looking back at it I think it hit a good spot, it's somewhat cheesy in my opinion, but that's just my opinion and you're completely entitled to yours. I think I was just biased and concerned about a Shining sequel.
