    Flecktarn seat pads.

    • @barryolaith
      @barryolaith 6 лет назад +2

      Hi Jonny, I think that pattern is Wustentarn ("Desert camouflage") which started to appear when Germany got involved in the UN mission in Afghanistan I think. Seems to be similar shapes to Flectarn but much more sparse and more 'arid region' colours (although strangely there is still some green in it). The Danish seem to have a very similar arid-region camouflage which is maybe not surprising since their 'European' pattern (M86?) is a 2-colour variant of Flectarn (now sadly replaced by Multicam ). Strangely, the Belgian air force also use Flectarn despite the fact that their army uses the unique 'jigsaw' pattern.
      There is a third German pattern I believe, called 'Tropentarn' but this might just be a different name for Wustentarn, I don't know.

    • @jonny2954
      @jonny2954 6 лет назад +2

      It's the desert version of Flecktarn, 'Wustentarn' (desert camo) and 'Tropentarn' (tropical camo) are unofficial designations, official designations are 5-farb-Flecktarn (5-color-flecktarn) for the green one, and 3-farb-flecktarn (3-color-flecktarn) for this one. 3-colour-flecktarn was developed during the 1993/94 somalia deplyoment, but first used later in Afghanistan.

      Look at military vehicles of its class. The SAS did raids with stripped down Land Rovers in the desert during World War II.
      Its focus is on speed, not on protection. If you want the best protection buy a tank, or at least an armoured vehicle.

      @excitableboy7031 6 лет назад +2

      David Louis Maurits it's an MRV, the armour is fitted as per required spec. Also these would go against technicals so speed is more important.

    • @daloumars
      @daloumars 6 лет назад +1

      @@excitableboy7031 when at war protection more needed than speed.

    • @excitableboy7031
      @excitableboy7031 6 лет назад +3

      David Louis Maurits more speed is needed in sparsely populated areas with generally even terrain. Like deserts and grasslands. For instance the Russian Tachankas. Less weight also means the vehicle is more agile. These are basically more specialized (or should I say adaptable) technicals.

    • @WeissmannX

    • @TheBooban
      @TheBooban 6 лет назад +9

      Yuri Gross Im not saying they are the same, but they do the same job. You don't want to use a G-wagon anywhere you wouldn't want to use a Toyota, you'll die just as quick in either.

      TheBooban of course, but the german military uses weapons that are produced in Germany, that’s why they uses g wagons instead of toyotas

      At least the Canadian Military trains to fight everywhere, right now we have an air component in Mali, Africa with the UN Peacekeeping Forces, while we have training cadres in Romania, the Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic States and are doing Summer Exercises in the High Arctic, as well as naval deployments to the Black Sea, Caribbean and Western Pacific and with a military of about 62,000 personnel. And that's after 10 years in Afghanistan.
