I have a chipmunk called Chippy too! He comes running from the same burrow every time. He waits for me every afternoon and practically is crawling on me at this point. He’s looking to take them right from me now. Can’t believe I AM now being the shy one. ☺️ I love him. He and his little friends were fighting over me today lol
So glad u share my love of Chippy. I just ordered some healthy feed for them as the sunflower seeds they love are too high in fat and low in calcium for their health. Was so sweet when little Orange Blossom brought her 3 babies to meet me and get in on the free food. I also give them a bowl of water and another bowl of fullers earth so they won't give me mites when I handle them. They are delightful and at least as smart as rats. I pray for their protection from the many predators hete in the Northwoods. But I figure they are as safe as possible for not having to range far to forage.
Last year, I discovered two chipmunks picked our backyard garden to be their new home along with many grey squirrels around. I usually feed them with peanuts.
I have a few chipmunks and the occasional gray squirrel or red squirrel, but I would love to be able to get them to eat out of my hand and to be able to pet them, but if not, then it probably is best to just place the food for them and enjoy watching them from a few feet away.
Ahh! Nice film. We have about four chipmunks here as well as two red squirrels. The chippys are friendly and fun to watch. The red squirrels are destructive to property unlike the chippys. I haven't petted a chippy yet but that will come in time. From Minnesota Lake Country Thank you for the film!
I kept a chipmunk over the winter because my cat tried to eat it and I took it from him and nursed it back to health and I just recently set it free but I had named him Chipper and now theres a female with an adolescent chipmunk and I wonder if Chipper is the father.
They can be tamed like much faster. It basically takes one winter. Feed one in the winter, there's always others watching ... Even if the first one dies, another almost identical one will take their place. You can pet them after a few feedings, but only while they fill their cheeks, once those cheeks are filled, the love is gone. Always use hand sanitizer or gloves when first starting out, the little guys will smell the food on your fingers and get mixed up, they use their nose more than their eyes when they're in close.
Me, as well. I just freed one that was in my grass level apartment. I allowed my cat to bring him in, drop him (I commanded him to) I could have them climb all over me if it was safe for them. This way I can trap him (HAVAHart trap) and free him. Than the alternative...
I can relate to everything you said. We have 6 named chipmunks and can tell them apart by the scars in their faces and their personality. Our oldest has been with us for 5 years now ... we're counting.
Great documentary! Our chipmunk is named Sampson ☺️ He likes to play with his cousins and comes up on the deck to say hello when he wants a bit of attention 🤣 Never thing of feeding them but maybe I can get some peanuts and seeds before they hibernate!
No chipmunk in Hawaii, US. But.., They are adorable and incredibly agile and intelligent. Lucky you. Thank you for sharing this video. I hope your families legacy continues, as well as, the chipmunks.
I'm designing a chipmunk character for a game and came here for research, but by the time i finished watching i completely forgot about my work lol. All the best to you and your furry little friends 🤎
Nicely done, Liam! I love chipmunks but I never feed them as I wouldn't wish for them to become dependent on me, in anticipation of the day when I will no longer be around for them. Thank you for this!
I love that ,,,, I live in the Northwoods if Wi, feed them all summer, they get close to me, and jump on me..... I was told not to touch them ... Rabies.... I miss them now ( winter) Do u think all summer when they would fill their cheeks with peanuts I bought 4 them, then they would run off in the woods, I assume they were bringing them to their burrow to stock pile 4 winter..??? You think?? Also, it's so cute when two of them play and chase each other..... LMAO !!!!!!
I have at least 4 Chipmunks running around here. Just saw a mouse run by last night. The Chipmunks are diurnal. The mice are nocturnal so they rarely meet.
My oldest chipmunk - apparently went to see Jesus sometime this spring. She was around 5 yrs old, very tame, would take peanuts out of my shirt pocket, and showed up this April with a litter about 2/3 grown, still scraping them off of her nipples. The young ones are skittish and most of them didn't catch on to peanuts at all - satisfying themselves with acorns. She was extremely territorial. I would sometimes, when a neighboring chipmunk was around, deliberately toss a peanut just in the right place to get a fight going.
Oh the fun...I fed tons of chippies and would scratch them all. One turned around and bit me one day. Like two tiny needles going in....then I moved to an apt complex. One guy fed a chippie, so I thought we were all allowed to. Silly me. He died and I got hollered at....not allowed to feed chippies...
maaan.. i wish we had a big forest near our property. we have 15 chipmunk friends and worried they will eventually overpopulate in our small rural area.
I had a chipmunk , called him Alvin.he Had a burrow in my back yard. I would feed him snd he would come out and keep me compan. This went in for about 5 years then he disappeared
Adorable. But I have read that raw peanuts can be toxic for some wildlife, like squirrels, due to trypsin inhibitor. In general, it's better policy not to feed wildlife. "Fed wildlife is dead wildlife".
My dad just accidentally trapped a chipmunk that came out of hibernation to early. I tried to release him but he just falls asleep in the snow. I put him in a larger live animal trap in the cold storage, about 4c and dry with no drafts. It's still -10c here any advice on how to get him back home? The local animal rescue has not responded.
Although I made a film about chipmunks I am not vet and am not sure what to do in that situation. Definitely keep trying the local animal rescue I hope the chipmunk gets better.
“For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship”
That is so cool that they let you touch them. I have 3 of them in my back yard I been feeding them peanuts. They come pretty close to me but they don’t let me touch them yet. Do they bite?
Great video! I have a wild chipmunk who I feed and let’s me pet him as well, but I always wash my hands immediately after because I have read they can carry disease that they can pass to humans. But I see videos of people letting wild chipmunks walk all over them, how do they know it is safe and that the chipmunk isn’t carrying disease?
~I've been feeding the chippies (when they come gather food from your hand😊) and petting them💞 for nearly as many years as I've been alive. (And this is coming from a past "germophobe") ~I can pretty much guarantee you 🙂there's nothing to worry about. Many animals don't have cooties on them -that would ever create a problem for a human. 🙂 so Enjoy 😊🐿️💞
Between me and the dog we kill about 25 30 a summer. They tunnel into everything and get into vehicle motor bays and destroy. The town I live in is overpopulated since lots of old people feed them.
I lose my shit when I see chippies... SO FREAKING CUTE!!!
I also love love love squirrels! They are very similar just different sizes! : )
they are very pretty animals!
This is great! Thanks for taking the time to make this! I love chipmunks too!
When my dad grew up in Washington state in the 1920s, his pet was a chipmunk.

I absolutely Loved this documentary. I have a baby rescue chipmunk now. Thank you for sharing this.

Great video!! I've just started the Allen/Scobie Chipmunk Feeding and Petting tradition

On top of that, red squirrels are known to eat baby chipmunks in addition to their own young 😐 they're cute but very mean sometimes.
Excellent video! Thanks! My husband and I love chipmunks and wanted to know how to bring them to us more often. This helps!
This was awesome. I was captivated. I love chipmunks... And squirrels. So I learned a lot. I didn't know that squirrels could end a chipmunk though 😢
i have 5 in my backyard. Coincidentally One is named chippy as well. Theres Chippy , Sandoo, Kiki, Peach and Stubbs
Watch later 😁

Bring him on Maury
Wonderful video Liam. I love these little critters as well.

this video is awesome! Made my day. We are a chipmunk loving family too!
God will surely bless you.

That was so awesome thanks for sharing!
I really enjoy all the chipmunks that show up and enjoy every bit of what they do. Thank you for sharing with me and hope you have a good day.❣️🤓
Aw c'mon! Not even a little love for the squirrels?
Chipmunk's are a squirrel specie thought
I have 2 chipmunks under my porch that are stocking up for winter. I go thru a bag of peanuts every two days. They're well stocked!
No chipmunk in Hawaii, US.
But..,
They are adorable and incredibly agile and intelligent.
Lucky you.
Thank you for sharing this video.
I hope your families legacy continues, as well as, the chipmunks.
everybody's gotta eat. I love squirrels and chipmunks both. I wish yours could share ad get along as they do here in my yard in GA.
I'm designing a chipmunk character for a game and came here for research, but by the time i finished watching i completely forgot about my work lol. All the best to you and your furry little friends 🤎
We enjoyed your chipmunk taming stories. We have some in our garden and they dig up our potted plants.
Excellently done! This is a wonderful film, I loved it and learned a lot
Really well put together. I would love to see more on this.
So lovely, thank you!
Nicely done, Liam! I love chipmunks but I never feed them as I wouldn't wish for them to become dependent on me, in anticipation of the day when I will no longer be around for them. Thank you for this!
That's my concern, when I move..
I love that ,,,, I live in the Northwoods if Wi, feed them all summer, they get close to me, and jump on me..... I was told not to touch them ... Rabies.... Very enjoyable. Lovely little animals I'm partial too as well.
Chipmunk are hard to find these days.
Chipmunks are _irresistibly_ *CUTE*
All I have to say is best documentary I have really ever watched. Thanks for the experience.
Yeaaay 😊 cabin Chippy lovers unite! 🏚️🐾🐿️💖
Awww thankyou I love your video 😊
Adorable video! Thanks.
You are a true Chip-Monk Master
Bro this is really good footage.
someone compared me to a chipmunk so it brought me here. This was great.
They are my favorite little animals their so cute
Chipmunks are so cool if you have chipmunks around your home you will never see a mouse since chipmunks terminate mice because of territory
I have at least 4 Chipmunks running around here. Just saw a mouse run by last night. The Chipmunks are diurnal. The mice are nocturnal so they rarely meet.
Its a great documentary

Very good video.
Thanks
This is really good.
The chipmunks are so cute😊.
I have a chipmunk "Tewey" and a fox squirrel "Red" that visit me . I feed them both by hand . Tewey is the tamest and will steal food from my lips.
Man, I wish we had chipmunks in Europe. All we have are plain old squirrels.
Chipmunks are so cute!!
Dude great documentary man!
Giggles :D
My Beloved Chipmunk ;)
Sheesh i want a chipmunk now lol
I don't think that there is anything cuter than a rodent!! Hands down. Then....there's a sweet kitty in a doll carriage for instance.
i brought this up to mock my brother. Thanks!
I call mine chippy too
Chip and Dale be like 👁👄👁

I still feed them everyday. They never stop.

What a sweet tradition 😊
I'm in Ottawa Ontario Canada just a little farther north than Sherbrooke.
Sometimes I see theodore chipmunk the baby chipmunk 🐿
maaan.. i wish we had a big forest near our property. we have 15 chipmunk friends and worried they will eventually overpopulate in our small rural area.
So cute 😊
Excuuuuuse me... did you say squirrels EAT CHIPMUNKS??
Good video. Thanks.
Great Video ✨
Very educational, I like learning like this!
You have a way with animals. C:
I agree about red squirrels.
I had a chipmunk , called him Alvin.he Had a burrow in my back yard. I would feed him snd he would come out and keep me compan. This went in for about 5 years then he disappeared
Chipmunks are very cute. But can they cause damage to the foundation of our homes? Are they destructive?
Adorable. But I have read that raw peanuts can be toxic for some wildlife, like squirrels, due to trypsin inhibitor. In general, it's better policy not to feed wildlife. "Fed wildlife is dead wildlife".
luv it
I'm so sad when I hear about kids whose parents never let them have a pet. To deny a kid the special bond with another species is just sad.
Amazing place 😮
Awesome.
I miss my Alvin chipmunk 🐿

cute! i am jealous
I, as a friend of the chipmunks, hate the red squirrel
Cool stuff.

That is so cool that they let you touch them. I have 3 of them in my back yard I been feeding them peanuts. They come pretty close to me but they don’t let me touch them yet. Do they bite?
No they never usually bite me unless my hand really smells like peanuts.

But I see videos of people letting wild chipmunks walk all over them, how do they know it is safe and that the chipmunk isn’t carrying disease?
I pet and feed them as well.
I'm not so worried about nature's disease. I am more worried about human disease. But always stay safe and clean 😉

hey this was so awesome, bro.. but why would you hate red squirrels?.. dont!

awesome
