If one ever feels useless, remember there was a guy in Korea who called a Martial Law at 1 AM, and had to cancel it before breakfast.

Almost every Korean either personally knows the cost of democracy (it was only back in 1980 with the student uprisings, so most 50 year olds were alive during the last dictatorship) or their parents talk about the bloody cost. It's not unheard of for children to grow up hearing that their uncle was part of the protest and was tortured. Or their grandfather fought for democracy.
As soon as news broke, I am talking within 3 minutes of the announcement, I received a text message on Kakaotalk. I had various Korean friends share their signal info, grab their gas masks, and get into their cars and on their motorbikes. Yoon assumed Koreans would be asleep, afraid, and unwilling to march in the cold. He assumed wrong. Koreans intimately know the value of Democracy and it was crazy watching in real time that before Yoon even finished his speech, before a proper translation of the announcement was made, young Koreans were rushing to fight for their freedoms and rights.
I am not exaggerating. 3 minutes. It was so fast I couldn't find an English source on it but my Korean friends were already donning whatever they could to go march on the building.
There are videos going around on Kakaotalk of young and old marching straight into the guns of the military and telling them to stand down. Ms. Ahn Gwi-ryeong's video is probably the most popular one at the moment.

I am a teenage Korean. In Korea, almost everyone must go to university and obtain a bachelor's degree to enter a company. And to do that, you have to study a lot in high school and do well on school exams. However, even though yesterday was the exam period for high school students, students who heard the news of martial law (including my friends) gave up studying and ran to the National Assembly to protect the place. I'm proud of them.

In South Korea, we were all shocked and stayed up almost the entire night. It was just a normal, ordinary evening, and I was about to go to bed when the president declared martial law (well, I was watching RUclips at the time). Helicopters and ‘armed’ soldiers surrounded the National Assembly. Watching all of this unfold live was both surreal and terrifying. The contents of the martial law declaration, especially the six provisions, were particularly disturbing. I still can’t believe it really happened last night, and I’m so relieved it ended this morning around 4 a.m. It’s so confusing to understand why the president made such a decision.

🏚️THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age is the Age of the Kingdom or Word that Christ brought to purify man"
      Almighty God said
EVERYONE who READS the BIBLE KNOWS that MANY THINGS HAPPENED to BIRTH the LORD JESUS. The MOST SEVERE of those EVENTS was when the KING of the DEVILS PERSECUTED HIM, which was a VERY SERIOUS EVENT that ALL CHILDREN in the TOWN aged two years and under were KILLED. GOD CLEARLY FACED the GREAT DANGER to BEING--MAN with MEN; It is also CLEAR of the HUGE PRICE HE PAID for ENDING HIS ADMINISTRATION in SAVING humanity. It is also clear the GREAT HOPES that GOD HOLDS for His WORK AMONG mankind in the FLESH. 🙏
WHEN GOD'S FLESH was MADE to WORK with mankind, WHAT DID HE FEEL? PEOPLE HAVE to UNDERSTAND that somehow, right? No matter what, GOD is HAPPY because He CAN START FULFILLING His NEW WORK among humanity. 🔴
WHEN the LORD JESUS was BAPTIZED and OFFICIALLY BEGAN HIS WORK to FULFILL HIS MINISTRY, GOD'S HEART was full of JOY because AFTER many years of WAITING and PREPARING, HE WILL FINALLY BEGIN the HUMAN BODY of a NORMAL MAN andHis NEW WORK WILL BEGIN in the FORM of a MAN with FLESH and BLOOD, whom PEOPLE can SEE and HANDLE. Finally He CAN COMMUNICATE--SPEAK FACE-TO-FACE--FACE-TO-FACE and intensively with people THROUGH a person's identity. 🙏
Finally GOD can APPEAR face to face to humanity through human ways and human language, He can provide for humanity, enlighten them, and HELP them USING HUMAN LANGUAGE; HE CAN EAT at the SAME TABLE and LIVE in the SAME PLACE TOGETHERthey He can also SEE PEOPLE, SEE THINGS, and SEE EVERYTHING as PEOPLE SEE them and even THROUGH their OWN EYES. 🔴🙏
For this is His FIRST SUCCESS in His WORK in the HUMAN BODY. It can also be said that this is the FULFILLMENT of a GREAT WORK-----it will happen that GOD is very HAPPY. Since then, GOD FELT, FOR THE FIRST TIME, A KIND of COMFORT in His WORK among mankind. All the events that happened were very practical and very natural, and the COMFORT that GOD FEELS is VERY REAL. For mankind, every time a new phase of God's work is realized, and every time GOD FEELS JOY, is when mankind can get closer to God and salvation. To God, this is also the LAUNCHING of His NEW WORK, PROGRESS in His GOVERNMENT PLAN, and, more than that, these are the times when His PURPOSES are NEAR to COMPLETE FULFILLMENT. 🙏
FOR mankind, BLESSED is the ARRIVING of such an OPPORTUNITY, and truly GOOD; for ALL WHO ARE AWAITING GOD'S SALVATION, this is very important and JOYFUL NEWS. When God carries out a NEW PHASE of WORK, He has a NEW BEGINNING, and when this NEW WORK and NEW beginning is launched and announced to mankind, it is when the outcome of this phase of work is assured and completed andof God is the FINAL EFFECT and RESULT. This is also when these effects please God, and, by the way, it is when His HEART is HAPPY. 🙏
GOD IS CONFIDENT because, with His EYES, HE HAS SEEN and IDENTIFIED the PEOPLE HE is LOOKING for, and WILL ACHIEVE this GROUP of PEOPLE, a GROUP that WILL MAKE HIS WORK SUCCESSFUL and will givr HIM PLEASURE. 🙏🌷
Therefore, He SETS ASIDE His worries, and He FEELS JOY. In other words, when the MAN of GOD can begin a new work with man, and He begins, without hindrance, to do the work He must do, and when He feels that everything is finished, then for Him, He already sees theend. He was DELIGHTED because of this, and HIS HEART HAPPY. HOW IS THE JOY OF GOD EXPRESSED? Can you imagine what the answer might be? Can God cry? Can God cry? Can God clap His hands? Can God dance? Can God sing? If so, what can He sing? Of course, GOD CAN SING A BEAUTIFUL, MOVING SONG, a song that can EXPRESS the JOY and JOY in His HEART. He CAN SING it for HUMANITY, for Himself, and for everything. . 🙏
God's pleasure can be expressed in any way---all this is normal because GOD has JOY and SORROW, and His different emotions can be expressed in different ways. This is His right, and there is nothing more normal and proper. People shouldn't think anything of it. You should not try to use the "bandage oration" to God, telling Him that He must not do this or that, He must not act this or that and in this way limit His pleasure or any feelings that may be had He. 🙏
From The Word, Vol. 11. About Knowing God. God's Work, God's Disposition, and God Himself 111
Fulfillment of (John 1:1,14 "The WORD" and "Our Man is the Word") ... and (Ezekiel 2:9-10), (Revelation 18:9,13)
The "Savior" came already in 1991 like a thief, so He prepared us then to be like those waiting for the return of his Lord so that when he comes and "knocks" we can immediately open the door. He came to "save" us by purifying with His Word the kingdom He brought down to earth with His holy name and His totality engraved on, "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD" 💐 This is the fulfillment of "The Letter to the Church of Philadelphia" (Revelation 3:12)"The one who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will not be removed from it forever. I will engrave on him the NAME of my God, and the name of the CITY of my God, the NEW JERUSALEM that will come down from HEAVEN to My God. I will also engrave my NEW NAME on him." ... And in (Matthew 16:18-19) "And I say to you, you are Peter, and UNDER this rock I will BUILD my CHURCH, and not the power of death will prevail over him. I will give YOU the KEY to the kingdom of heaven: what you forbid on earth you will forbid in heaven and what you allow on earth it will be allowed in heaven." ... The fulfillment of His return is everything recorded in the great book of Revelation (such as these important examples, The Seals, The Bowls of God's Wrath, The Millennium, and The New Heavens and New Earth.) This is the beginning of A Thousand Years of Gathering Spirits that have becomeperfect because of His Word, and the beginning of the 144,000 (Revelation 14:3-4) "The Song of the Redeemed") from the twelve tribes of Israel who faithfully serve the Lamb, the first offerings until the number of 200,000,000 became perfect. (Revelation 6:10-11 and 9:16 "The Seals"). ... Because the Lamb in the middle of the THRONE will be their PASTOR .... (Revelation 7:17)💐
      ⬇️
      The recorded prophecy is below!
      ⬇️
(Matthew 2:16 "Killing the Little Boys")
"Herod was very angry when the Wise Men must have tricked him. So he KILLED the YOUNG MEN in Bethlehem and the surrounding area--EVERYONE TWO YEARS OLD AND UNDER, according to the time of the record's appearance which he assured the Wise."
➡️ (Matthew 3:13-15 "Jesus was baptized")
(Matthew 4:12 ... "Jesus began His work in Galilee")

The attempt failed as the people flooded the the presidential palace and the streets. Here in South Korea, we see the opposite, the president is trying to set a dictatorship through the military. In both cases, the military coups failed. This is a valuable lesson that the the army can not rule where there are strong traditions of democracy and freedom. However, the green party there doesn't have intentions to take over. They just want to be free from the 6 powerful families that are related to the pervious Dictators. The president is with the families. That's what he kept saying, "We gotta stop the North Korean Communist."

Koreans have spent decades resisting military dictatorships since the 1960s, never yielding to tyrannical regimes. Remarkably, a government proclamation was enough to quell the specter of an unwise leader in less than half a day. Korean politicians are well aware that they cannot overpower the will of the people. Even more inspiring is the fact that soldiers, despite being under orders, refused to carry out actions that could harm lives, prioritizing the safety and well-being of their fellow citizens.

As a SK citizen, I can’t describe with words how shocked and frustrated I was. I was just about to go to bed and most people here were probably the same. I mean, our president had been going crazy for almost a year now, but nobody could have imagined that he would declare martial law so suddenly. He said in the announcement that national security was threatened by anti-national forces, but I can tell you, it was a peaceful, normal, everyday situation. There was no reason to declare martial law, by any measure.
Thankfully, the national assembly , fully supported by the people, immediately rushed to save our democracy and managed to condemn and vote down the unlawful declaration of martial law (despite the military’s attempts to block the vote by force) before anything worse could happen. And it really could have gotten worse. The citizens of South Korea, including me and my friends, still have bad memories about past dictatorships, and know that sometimes bloodshed is inevitable to defend democracy. We were prepared to take to the streets and do just that, if necessary. Again, I can’t describe how relieved I am that it didn’t lead to a violent situation. I am also thankful and proud of how swiftly the people and the politicians came together. It shows that there is still good hope for our nation in this time of hardship.
Now all that remains is to find out who is responsible for this unlawful declaration of martial law and the following unlawful actions, and bring them to justice. The president will almost certainly have to be impeached, that’s for sure.

I'm an expat living in South Korea north west of Seoul. I go to bed at 11:30pm. I woke up to my 7:30am alarm and took my kid to school. I don't watch TV while getting ready or listen to the radio. I only learned of possible marshal law after already dropping my kid walking distance from the gate. We got emergency messages of "launched air threat" the last time the North floated garbage balloons our way that scared the shit out of residents. Not a peep on this one. That's one way to get your heart going before your morning coffee. The mood here is calm now.

Last midnight, after watching the news almost 12:00 am, my father directly headed to national assembly. It was such a horrible experience cause we should get a notice about the martial law, but they declared it in the middle of the night so no citizen could notice the situation and could get to the national assembly and protect the congressmen. But we did it.

      2. The current party tries to enhance the law to capture the North korean spy easily. However, it didn't work. Why? The opponent political party denied. And if you ask why they denied it. Check the first statement

The Republic of Korea is not such a simple country.
    In the Republic of Korea,
    there is law and order,
there is five thousand years of history,
there is democracy that was won with blood and sweat,
and there are Koreans who embody that spirit in their entirety.
They say that the Republic of Korea is not such an easy country.

The eldest member of the National Assembly scaled a wall and sprinted to cast a decisive vote to lift martial law, defying restrictions. As the very pillars of South Korea's democracy teetered on the brink of collapse, citizens poured into the streets late into the night, standing unarmed against the threat of firearms. The nation remained sleepless through the dark hours.
As a senior university student in South Korea, I will join the massive protest on December 7th. I fervently hope this will mark the end of such struggles, and I implore the global community to bear witness to South Korea’s unfolding fate.
