Thanks for posting this. Brought back some memories! Years ago, I worked the night shift at the Winton Sawmill. On Fridays (Late Spring Through Fall) I would ride from Derby Canyon, over Mt. Chumstick, past Sugarloaf Lookout, Through Maverick Saddle, down to the Chiwawa Loop Rd. past Lake Wenatchee to Winton. After working my shift (around midnight) I would ride the entire route in reverse usually getting home around 3:00 AM. Riding in the dirt at night adds a whole new dimension. Never know what critters you are going to see. Great Grey Owl scared the crap out of me one night. CHEERS!

ALSO; If you want to see Black Bears; Go up the Chiwawa River! 😉

thanks for the comment! Nice to know someone is out there enjoying some of the videos. You won't catch me riding the hills at night though. That's a crazy route to run all through the night.
I've spent my time injured in the hills waiting for help, at night, and am pretty content with avoiding that situation the best I can going forward.
So many views around the area as well. Some would be amazing at night I bet. We just did a little ride up camas from cashmere, then left around a loop instead of right (which takes you straight to the pass) and there were some really cool rock formations and valleys you ride past out there. It's so close, but never knew it was there until I got out riding on the dirt.

Oh no way! I got the 390 Adv specifically to take on the WABDR but I'm not confident the suspension would hold up. Any issues?

No issues yet. It's a 2023 so I have only had it about a year. Probably around 3-4k miles on it so far (have to check dash I'm not exactly sure). My main complaints are fairly minor and talked about in most 390 adventure videos.
The stock chain stretches pretty fast, which is annoying. Probably worth replacing early to avoid having to also replace sprockets.
The stock angled footpegs are kind of awkward to stand on. I have yet to upgrade them though, and still find it rideable enough while standing so its not a major issue, but one I want to address.
The stock skid plate is pretty much a joke. Mostly plastic, and on pretty cheesy brackets, which are mounted to the engine.
My only other complaint is that I find the oil change process pretty tedious, as there is the drain plug, the main filter, and then 2 additional mesh screens to remove and clean. You also have to remove the skid plate which comes off in two sections with a bunch of bolts which are full of mud and dirt.... So when you are done, you have oil coming out of 4 ports on all sides of the engine. And the drain plug is located right over the exhaust, which isn't really ideal. But there's not much to be done about any of this.
All pretty minor stuff. For $5k-$6k it's really a great capable little bike. I'm not sure how I'd feel about wringing it out at highway speed across the state for hours on end, although I know people do this and it's fine.
Great adventure bike overall. And much lighter weight than all the popular larger bikes you see everyone on. I feel a lot more confident on it than I would on a big fat BMW or something. If I were to get a different ADV bike I'd probably go with the tenere 700. But I'm really in no hurry to swap it out for something.

oh and as far as suspension, no issues. i did get rid of the resonator and all the stock exhaust stuff, which should hopefully remove heat from being right next to the rear shock. I guess ADV matt has had issues with his rear shock. I also travel pretty light. I don't think i'm stressing it as hard as some people do.
