So the original price for the board was $54 but they increased it by $10 with the reasoning: "Some have certainly seen that the prices for the V-Series board have increased, but shipping is now cheaper, offering an advantage for anyone who can claim keyboards as work material for tax purposes, because shipping is not taken into account. Since some people cant do basic math the price in the end will be the same" Still not a bad deal for the price, but yeah, I was filming with the $54 in mind, just wanted to clarify.
I'm just waiting for the V1 to reach the local vendors in the US so I can stop replying with aliexpress kits when people ask for a dirt cheap custom keyboards.
Keychron's pre lubed built in stabilizers were always great. I've had 2 different models previously, a Q1 and a K something, both stabs were properly lubed and felt great out of the box.
after modding my v1 with pe foam n tape my spacebar sounds very weird..like a recoil kinda sound if u get what i mean. Also it keeps wobbling back and forth…can’t seem to identify the problem
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I totally get the struggle of keeping our setups clean. Have you considered trying out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a compact device that combines vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it great for maintaining a spotless environment. The powerful blowing feature could come in handy for quickly cleaning your keyboard. Plus, it has a bunch of other cool features like multiple tubes, high-quality filters, and efficient storage. Definitely worth checking out!
Looking fwd to more boards Keychron has planned for the V series down the line. If they do release a 96% / 1800 layout that’d be an instacop for a friend since they been looking to get into customs with that layout but even the Q series is a bit out of their reach atm
Hey {{3}}! I recently discovered the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule and it's been a game-changer for keeping my desk and tech clean. With its powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, it's perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. The price is reasonable compared to other brands too. Definitely worth considering for beginners and tech enthusiasts alike!
I got this just for a gaming keyboard because my ergonomic keyboard is super awkward for that. I used some extra Boba U4t switches that I had laying around and it's a pretty great set up for less than a set of fancy keycaps.
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a sleek and powerful device that can help keep your desktop, living spaces, and even your car clean. With features like powerful vacuuming, high-quality filters, and swift keyboard cleaning, it's definitely worth considering for your cleaning routine. Happy tech-talking!
Hey there! It's great to see you exploring different keyboards and setups. If you're looking to optimize your desk environment, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a powerful vacuum and blower combo that effectively cleans your desktop, keyboards, and even your car interiors. The compact design and long-lasting battery make it convenient for on-the-go use. Give it a try, and let me know how it works out for you!
Your sound test honestly sounds a bit more lively than the others I've heard. Interesting I guess it's a mic setup difference Or maybe Shoobs is just goated
Hey there! I've heard great things about the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact and versatile tool that offers both vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it perfect for keeping your desk, living spaces, and even your car clean. The multiple tubes and high-quality filters definitely make it a reliable choice. Plus, the keyboard cleaning feature with powerful blowing sounds like a game-changer. Definitely worth considering!
Oh this is perfect! I can get the TKL version, throw on some nice Mac keycaps and then throw on some gateron yellows for what will probably be under $200! Then my Mac server in the basement will have a real nice setup!
I would have bought this if it was gasket mounted. Just it being tray mounted despite the low price is a no-no for me. Maybe make it gasket mounted and increase 5-10 would be good
I wonder how it stacks up against the epomaker TH80 (another good south facing 65$ 75% keyboard). I think I am still learning towards the TH80 since it's tri mode wireless but I am nervous to buy.
I think that the fact this is south-facing gives you more choice when it comes to keycaps you use on those. For me, that would likely be the decision-making factor since I like cherry profile.
Oh that's great, now I regreted buying this Q1 v1 cuz ik that V1 will be more beneficial for my clicky switches cuz it's out of plastic compared to the alum case from Q1.
They hit that price point by not wanting to gouge the hell out of their customers. Most keyboards are grossly over priced. The Glorious GMMK full assembled board if $350 for fucks sake. Most of these boutique boards are over priced as well.
I am not surprised with the price. At the end of the day, its just a piece of plastic and the prices for custom keyboards were not related with the actual build process or components, but with the limited demand for them. Since the keyboard space has expanded so much in the last couple of years, many people that have never got into them are now interested on having something that is not a cheap keyboard that came with their pc. So economy of scale comes into place and production numbers increase, decreasing the price per unit manufactured. Keychron was one of the first companies to go "mainstream" and it shows as they can now offer something really good for a reasonable price (because, lets face it, 400 or more for a keyboard was just stupid). And you can see this increase in popularity as well in mainstream companies like Logi making mechanical boards when just a couple years ago were obsessed with the "silent" laptop style keyboards. Its all good news for us enthusiasts and for the general public that now will be able to experience what it is not to type on the lowest quality product ever built.
Hey {{3}}! If you're looking to keep your keyboard and desktop setup pristine, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact and powerful tool with vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. Plus, it's reasonably priced compared to other options out there. Happy cleaning!

you can buy chinese boards like the leobog hi75, yunzii al66/71/75, womier sk71/sk75 etc and get a far better deal. This board is not worth it IMO unless you can find it for 60 euro fully built.
I like this board, but don't know anyone who would get good use out of it. I've built for friends and coworkers, but everyone I've built for either needed wireless or a numpad. I've run out of people to build for at this point anyway, so it'll likely never get a purchase from me, despite how good it looks for the price.
So the original price for the board was $54 but they increased it by $10 with the reasoning:

Lmao the math diss. It's true tho.

keychron the tax deductibles
I mean $64 is still crazy good and undercuts other options at that price point
"Let's not use bx blacks and gmk keycaps and do this through the lens of a beginner" *uses a single artisan keycap that costs the same as the board*
just to flex

@@cowardwizard7 its beacuse they normally suck
If they use gasket mount and sell it for $74-$84 barebone it will still be a budget king that can dethrone kbd67 lite
Wait did I miss something? I thought this keeb was Gasket mounted? I must be high. EDIT: yahhhhhhhh you right
That will be the keychron A1
Why would a 75% “dethrone” a 65% keyboard? They layouts are not remotely close…
@@Oridemos because they will release a 65% called a v2 and cost the same lol
@@selentatsukienjoyer ???
Great video homie. Always fun to hear your take.
I have issue with the check at 3:04. Obviously queen E6 would have been check and mate, but you went for queen e7 which is being guarded by 4 pieces!

I'm glad they got rid of the cheap coiled cable that came with the Q1.
Great review, and love the sarcastic humor!
3:04 OH NO THE QUEEN
wanted to get a custom keyboard for over a year now. Was always rocking standart razer stuff. as u said no brainer, instand order. THX
I'm seeing you for the first time and I'm already subbed.

Thanks you Shoobs, I was wondering what it was and no other videos clarified this point.
3:04
gotta love how the check is a blunder
DUDE WTF I HAD MY VOLUME UP
Same lol
How about making a squishy desk mat to add a bootleg gasket effect? The o-ring mod may help too. I want one.
Shoobs it would be great if you can do a modding video for keychron v1 so that beginners can see the optimal performance of the board.

I like stiff boards personally the typing feels more consistent. So, in my opinion, this is the only board you really need.
3:03 Are we just gonna not talk about how he had mate in one but blundered his queen instead.
Wow, those are bomb ass key caps
Sounds like the old version of NJ80, without all the foam and other stuff, which they added after looking at competition.

try the gas 67 its like 60 and its gasket

How does this compare against the kbdfans tiger lite? Thanks.
0:22 good thing I'm wearing headphones.
I already bought a Q0, two Q1, and a Q3. This keyboard and the K8 Pro look like a good travel boards.
not having the end key ruined it for me... i use it a lot
I would have bought this if it was gasket mounted. Just it being tray mounted despite the low price is a no-no for me. Maybe make it gasket mounted and increase 5-10 would be good
They won’t do it, it would tread over the Keychron Q series market niche. CIY GAS67 is pretty good btw
Another Shoobs masterpiece
Another great Jordan comment
Keychron has been popping off.
I have these switches on both my Q1s. What did you think of them?
Your opinions about the keychron keycaps? I was about to buy them but idk if it’s good or not..
I bet you won't mod a cooler master sk630 and keep it low profile
That feel when you accidentally put Shoobs on .75 speed and don't notice because of the way he speaks. 10/10. I'm dumb.
Still rocking my q1 as my daily keeb
Is the keycaps set from their prototyping round? Because their sets do not use “Win” as legends but “Super” now.
blown away by the price compared to other boards. *cries in debt*
Finally, i cant wait for an alice keyboard from keychron that is under 100 dollars
K but that slap anime moan combo got me in trouble with my wife I didn’t know I’d have to have a NSFW warning on a keyboard review vid 😂😂😂
this keyboard is such a good deal I'm going to recommend it to friends and family.
Do you know if the case is the EXACT same as the Q1 bc i wanna buy another case. So can i buy a Q1 case and it will match with the V1
How is this compare to EPOMAKER Theory TH80? TH80 sell for $89 full set on Amazon.
I am salty that their cheap non knob board has a F13 key and my knobless q3 doesn't :(
im absolutely ordering this rn
Honestly a steal but should’ve made the top piece opaque, those screws look jarring lol
I wonder how it stacks up against the epomaker TH80 (another good south facing 65$ 75% keyboard).
I think I am still learning towards the TH80 since it's tri mode wireless but I am nervous to buy.
Same. I am also personally leaning towards the TH80 because the white color looks nicer. If Keychron made a white version I would buy that instead.
This is south facing, qmk/via compatible
I think that the fact this is south-facing gives you more choice when it comes to keycaps you use on those. For me, that would likely be the decision-making factor since I like cherry profile.
Th80 is north facing, plate mounted stabs, and doesn't support qmk via, this is better
@@grubbygeorge2117 not all north facing boards have interference
I would just like to lodge a personal complaint about 3:03 q e7... It was so close to mate it's painful lol. Love your videos Shoobs :).
Imagine if he moved 1 less place up, this world would be a better place.
keycaps?

cool epic awesome video my dude
I just literally bought a board. Right before this came out. A day later, this came out. Fuck me.
