    Loving the post. Would appreciate the 'whys'. For example tulip wood: why (I know the answer here, but timber species is a dark art); the cupping - you stated a preference, but why. Gosh without even those 2 points I have taken away so much from that post alone. Same with every post. Reckon you are in the top 1 joinery manufacturers on RUclips and your work is so fine. All those tools - you have somebody like me who doesn't have all those tools - feeling like wow, because even if I had all those tools it wouldn't help me. You know how to use those tools to craft with, not just 'anybody can do this if they have these tools'. They can't.

    Beautiful work as always! Concerning the planer, I don't think it's a spark plug since the Felders are long known to be diesels... You could however check the drive belt for the feed rollers. Looks like your machine has a long rubber belt that drives the feed rollers off the main motor. It's engaged by the lever next to the height adjustment. When left engaged while the machine isn't being used, the belt can be stretched into that specific shape and become lumpy, much like a bandsaw blade can take on the shape of the wheels if you leave it tensioned without running the machine. Not sure if this is the case but maybe it helps 👍

    • @BradshawJoinery
      @BradshawJoinery  6 дней назад +1

      haha thanks mate, its the drive wheel, they are a common problem and the worst bit fot he machine tbh. it digs little bumps in the rubber drive wheel then bounces every time round.

    So that dodgy sparkplug is the drive wheel for the thicknesser. It's not too hard to get off. When you have it out, just sand the worn spot smooth on the disc sander or edge sander & you'll be good to go.

    • @BradshawJoinery
      @BradshawJoinery  20 дней назад +1

      Yeah thats the one, the back panel is off the planer, seemingly, whenever i sand it smooth the next day it digs another hole in it, but then it doesnt happen again until i sand it smooth haha. So its been left for a while until im enthusiastic enough again!
