Well done video. I just finished making 4 of these bags. I add a patch pocket inside and a loop with a carabiner sewn to the top hem.

I like this pleat method because it doesn’t make the bag narrower at the bottom. The box corner method does make the bottom narrower.

EASY to follow video instructions.Smaller bag than I had thought it would be.
    My finished bag measured 9½" W x 9½"D x11"H. Next time I will make it 14"x14"x15"

    Update 2:
Suprise! I'm back again, lol. Just made another one of these fabulous bags. This time I made a bag for my manager as a boss's day gift! I chose a thick cotton fabric. Fabric ended up being shorter in width than traditional canvas, but the pattern was super easy to scale down. If you couldn't tell, I'm kind of obsessed with your pattern Sailrite.
    Update:
Made two of these bags over 3 years ago and they have held up ever since! I recently lost my beloved bags in a move and came back to the same pattern to make two more. I guess that speaks to the quality and longevity of the pattern!
    Original Post:
I made two of these bags from some home dec remnants and they're amazing! I lengthened the straps to 49" just to be able to hold it on my shoulder and it definitely feels very sturdy. Holds ALOT of stuff. The size is decieving from the video; it looks small but when you start stuffing it, it just keeps going. Thanks so much for the tutorial! I plan on making bunch for other people too.

Thank's Sailrite I love this bag. I have just made one BUT::::: The handles are too short to carry goods easily. If stuff is heavy sometimes we need to be able to put our arms through to assist with the weight. I will adjust the next one however the quality is top notch because of your meticulous measuring and pattern matching. All your demo's are great.

I just wanted to say thanks to the folks at Sailrite!
I ordered a yard of this fabric and serged off each rough cut edge. I trimmed of about 1/8th of an inch as I serged the width of each end. I just measured it and the shortest length in the uneven cut edges and I have a minimal of 37 inches. I can't tell you how many times I've done the same with other fabrics and ended up with a couple of inches less than I ordered. So let the cutters know how important this is to the job.

Maybe a tip, to hold the fabric when too much bulky, instead of a pin, probably would be more easier using a clip , used for quilting , like the Wonder Clips , they have as well a jumbo version

Awesome tut. You know I really hate when ppl are so negative and critical about something that is free. Shut up and enjoy the vid's. Keep your negative comments to yourself. Do u know it takes time to record these tut's and it is not hurting anyone if the man says something the wrong way or show's something a different way that you don't like. Don't come off on him. Did your mother never teach you if u can't say ne thing nice don't say ne thing at all. If not let me be the first.

Not sure if you do this or not, but I have a tip for anyone watching. When you are part way through stitching and need to stop and re adjust, I find it better to leave the needle in the downward position (through the fabric) so your not pulling the material or moving it so you keep the same spot where you stopped at. Nice video btw.
