- There are many reasons why Democrats lost this election, from inflation to incumbency, but there's a bigger reason why Trump won and the left will continue to lose.

As a former Democrat (now unenrolled) it’s my opinion that the left has gone completely off the rails. The Overton window has shifted and because I can’t abide the insanity I’ve been labeled as “far right” - yet my positions haven’t really changed.
Well..the far right has been off the rails for quite awhile also..
@@misskelly9821 sort of missing the point there
@@misskelly9821 This statement is why you lost the election.. Keep it up
overreading the election much?
@@misskelly9821I know. Not wanting men pretending to be women in schools and women's spaces is such a radical right position. Seriously, exactly what to you is crazy from the right?
You are right on every single point. I grew up a staunch Democrat, straight up man of the left. I started to turn against the Democrats after the Obama administration did nothing to hold Wall Street accountable after the great recession. Once they started in on identity politics, I was out. Even in 2015 I could see how toxic that ideology was.
How could kamala fail?
Step 1: look at the 2020 primary.
Step 2: watch Kamala debate Tulsi Gabbard.
Who could have seen this monumental failure coming? 😂
Kamaltoe thought that dodging interviews like Xiden did 4 years ago, as well as hiding in the basement would work again. Unfortunately for the cackling hyena, many have wised up towards the shady crap the democraps pull in order to “win” elections.
The supposedly moral high-horsing is the worst of it. People have swapped analytic thought for unhinged virtue signalling
Yes and the "right" has feel for this virtue signaling. Yet I thought they were supposed to be the "alpha chads."
Two exhibits that illustrate this point: Professor Allen Lichtman and Dr. Arlene. Both profess themselves to be expert in the fuel of election prediction, both of them predicted Kamala would win, both of them were wrong. They succumbed to the fear mongering of CNN and MSNBC.
Like Sitch from Sitch and Adam said, "the problem with transwomen in women sports, is that it is not something that only concerns a small niche of people, it concerns half the population!".
Please make more videos like this one. This is exactly how I feel. I’m gay,
I was always “left wing” but the woke thing makes me so angry and I feel alienated by these people that are traditionally “my people”.
Cringe.
Even a good friend of mine whos neither gay nor hetero and was always a friend of "fluent sexuality" is feeling estranged from this amount of woke things.
Your side said all they wanted was "marriage" and with the courts got that. Now all your kind want is complete fielty and the children.

Ive been saying this for a while. We replaced the puritanical evangelical bible thumping Christians of the 90's/early 2000's to the "woke" left. I equally despise both of them
bollocks. You know what the problem here is, you interpret people who don't fit into the mainstream, wanting their own space to express themselves, as somehow controlling you. It's none of your business, it has no material effect on you. What people do in their spare time. But you've bought into the beat up propaganda on it. Look up 'nut picking', that is what the right have done. They're the ones that have falsely made it look like 'bible thumping'. You're idiots if you buy into this garden variety propaganda, to sow division. The right may have 'won', but you're sadly mistaken if you think that Trump cares about the likes of people here. Thanks for the cheap vote though /Trump.
YES. But having sat through them both, at least the Christians had respect for institutions and an ethical limit on the expressiveness of their power. The Woke Left is a much more insidious and tyrannical religion than Christians ever were.
Totally agree and also been saying that for a while. They are the new puritans. They are the same people
Hilarious, that is projection on steroids. The 'woke' left are the ones fighting to live and let live. The right have a meltdown at a hint of a man in a dress, when you should just mind your own business. Who is the 'puritan' in this situation? Not to start on the rest of people's rights you want to shut down.
Agree.
Thanks man. I needed to hear a sane person today.

Think you hit the nail on the head with your take!
while I don't deny the left is indeed losing as well I think it is very important to distinguish liberalism from leftism
I'm not sure it's actually the right breakdown when it comes to the social justice movement. I would not describe the majority of "woke" activists as leftist, either. They're almost entirely unconcerned with class issues, for instance. And leftism itself has a wide array of different views. A left-libertarian is quite different from a Marxist in some big, fundamental ways. One can also be liberal *and* leftist, or an illiberal leftist etc.
I’d say it’s both neoliberalism and leftism.
The problem with American politics is that people don't actually fall along a 1-dimensional axis in their politics. You can be economically left but right on societal issues. There are many permutations of opinions and you are often left having to vote for what you consider the least offensive.
America doesn't have an organized left. Liberals today claim past achievements of the left. Liberals cling to power and pat themselves on the back for pragmatism. Then blame Left critique for hurting their electoral chances.
Glad to see you back Erik! I have friends on both the right and left of the political spectrum. While I love them to death, my leftist friends are the ones I always find myself double checking what I can say around them without causing strife. It gets pretty tiring at times. My friends on the right, however, don’t give a shit. Granted, sometimes they say things I don’t agree with but that’s just life. Having disagreements with others is an inevitability. That’s another failing of the left, you just can’t disagree with anything the big heads tell you is right. If you do, you’re evil and shunned.
Well expressed.
The reasons why your friends on the right don’t challenge you is because they don’t care. Republicans lack compassion and patriotism. Their base is built on a foundation of racism and fueled by a fear of losing privilege. If I were you, I’d lean closer to my friends on the left. Because if you ever find yourself in a bind they will be the ones to show up.
“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Finger wagging gathers no moss. I always refer to the fable of the sun and the wind trying to get a man to remove their coat
Most modern women who says they don't need men and prefer bears over men suddenly understand that they need men's vote to win elections! FAFO!😂
A lot of left-wing politics are "feel-goodisms" they sound nice on paper but don't work whatsoever in practice and we've gone with left-wing policies for over a hundred years at this point and it really hasn't helped the middle class or the poor all that much, all it has done is incentivized people not to work or improve their lives and just live off of breadcrumbs from the government. Which is why I fundamentally disagree with people like Bernie Sanders, whether he genuinely wants to help the poor or not getting the government's hand into even more of the economy will just cause an economic collapse we've already spent trillions of dollars of money we don't actually have and eventually the ponzi scheme that is social security will collapse in on itself as there won't be enough working class people paying into it to sustain the system
This was an excellent take.
Happy days.

2:30 - Don't forget that up until the election results the media - except for that one channel - were saying that Biden was doing a great job.
I'm less interested in how good a job Biden did (aside from him not stepping down). That's a tough call to make. Inflation was the biggest issue, and that's a wildly difficult thing to tackle (I doubt Trump will be able to fix it, either). The problem is that the Democrats aren't offering voters anything other than a version of Republican-lite on most issues, coupled with a wildly unpopular radical social agenda.
@@ErikKain Well, to your point about incumbency, if the incumbent is doing a good job, the nominee from that party has the wind at their backs, so it goes both ways.
@@ErikKainwildly “unpopular social agenda”??
Here is a huge hint on inflation…do not dump trillions of govt free money on citizens. They spend it and Jack up inflation and energy costs and then the working class spending 1/3 of their monthly income on food…seeing the crazy prices multiple times a week. Govts that did this got kicked out. Economists screamed at DEMs not to do this but they did it anyway. And keep doubling and tripling down to try and give money to people to buy votes. Stop it.
The parties are losing. The American people are losing. Get it together

The Border Crisis is why I voted for Trump. And to this day liberals still dismiss illegal immigration
It’s a bad situation because you can’t give some people accurate information (that “normally” is how we update/change our views) because they think the other side is operating in bad faith. If you think someone is so bad, that the end justifies the means….you will not believe anything that contradicts your views in them. The saddest part is encouraging people to lie or end relationships with previous friends and incredibly…family members over social issues. 😞

The Republican Party of present has become the Democratic Party of the past..at least that’s the perception..
Perhaps that is your perception. Conservative Republicans 30 years ago: marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, abortion is murder. Liberal Democrats 30 years ago: marriage is a union between a man and a woman, abortion should be rare, safe and legal. Conservative Republicans of today: marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, abortion is murder. Liberal Democrats of today: marriage is a union between two people And abortion should be on demand.
I will stated emphatically: the conservative Republicans of today are not the liberal Democrats of the past.
Glad to see you again. In Germany the left ist divided too like hell. We are right now two different sections. The "woke" ones and the more classic ones who are concerned with simple things like social justice and an affordable public health system. I dont know what that is all around the world.
I want to call those who are so much concerned with their cultural ideas more than the daily needs of the average person not left. I think they are so strange. You cant talk to them on a normal level that you, for example, dont think its good to change books because the meaning of words changed. Its part of history for gods sake.
What used to be "the left" in Germany is fked because the established political representation has turned out to be the most rabid warmongers in the country . Does not help that quite a lot of "woke" people advocate for more fighting and death in Ukraine 'cos "zE EviL puTIN dictator Has to go!!!!" .
They (the established political left) don't catch anyone despite most fringe people anymore . The nail in the coffin turned and will turn out to be their assault on free expression and push for censorship. Dont matter whether you are politcally boxed in as "right" or "left" in Germany...people from all over the country get mightily pissed off when you try to tell them they cant say what they think . For good reasons . And that, interestingly enough, unifies people across all groups .
Great video. I don't agree with a lot of it, but I'm glad we can always count on you for a thoughtful and honest take.
@@j.springer1496 appreciate that, and your amicable response.
You are 100% right on the comparison of LGB and T issues. LGB was a grassroots, we just want acceptance in society. I might disagree with how some act in public settings, but i also respect their right to be seem. The Trans issue is top down. They are trying to force society to accept drastic social change that DOES impact other people, specifically cis women/girls. Men have zero issue sharing a bathroom with trans men or women, but women do have an issue and should be heard instead of silenced.
And to clarify, i believe I am a moderate person. This election was the first time in 20 years i didn’t vote democrat for president, and yet i split my ticket, because i voted for a democrat for the senate. I do believe no party should ever have full control, and find it unfortunate that republicans won everything, except a super majority.
I think we are close to the same age, Im 43. Do you remember back in the 90s early 00's being edgy and offensive would be a liberal thing. It would piss off the prudes and religious right. Somehow boring nerdy Republicans can look cool and edgy (Ben Shapiro). Some liberals act like church moms
Also 43, and this is exactly what I'm talking about in the video. The left has become a henhouse filled with prudish scolds. Edgy has become all surface level, dying your hair and wearing the clothes but constantly demanding safe spaces and screaming at anyone who engages in wrongthink.
@ErikKain shout out to 1981
Man, I hope people look to other people than Ben Shapiro for cool and edgy. Haha. That dude....
My theory is that there's always a certain percentage of moral busybodies that need to feel morally superior to others. Christianity is dying out so those same people have just shifted to the woke religion. I've seen it myself with religious Christian relatives embrace wokeness with no change to their personality.

74 million Americans voted for Kamala, 76 million Americans voted for Trump. Now fit in what you just said with that 2 million tiny difference. Let's use an analogy; a soccer match, heated, almost tied, the score ends up 6-5. What do you think of the analyst that says the team that lost needs radical 180 change in order to win next time?
Don't get me wrong, there were people on the right saying similar things when Repubs lost in 2020.
P.S. The left will keep losing? the left did much better than expected in the Senate and the House, Dems were supposed to lose big, they didn't. Finally, if Trump's 2nd term ends up with similar favorability as Biden's by time the next election is around, Americans will vote in a Democrat. Take that to the bank.
people like you make me so sad. you're obviously intelligent and insightful, but even you are susceptible to the right wing's clever propaganda. you accept their framing of issues so easily because their messaging appeals to your preconceived biases. you're falling for their AMPLIFICATION of niche issues because you already believe that "wokeness" is annoying, instead of examining WHY you're hearing so much about these issues if they're so niche. why is there such a furor over 1% of the population using public restrooms or playing sports? why has such a marginalized group become a target in recent years? it's NOT because they've gotten louder or more demanding, dude, THEY ARE BEING SINGLED OUT. AS. A. SCAPEGOAT. there is a magnifying glass on them! right wing media is FOCUSING on the trans community because they are strange and fascinating, and if you're looking at them you're not noticing the hand picking your pocket! this is why black folks said to WAKE UP! you are sleepwalking through life if you think this analysis has any weight! biden/harris/democrats have been distancing themselves from wokeness for years, harris especially ignored the left in her campaign because she wanted to court centrists.
i have more to say but i'll leave it there. PLEASE don't believe the hype. don't accept the right wing's framing that "wokeness" is a problem. throwing the most vulnerable among us under the bus is not going to save any of us.
I'm a practicing Catholic and I constantly duke it out with Christians who see sin in everything.. I also oppose all forms of extreme adherence to social justice principles and beliefs (aka wokeness).. Puritanism damages all causes, no matter how good the idea behind the cause is.

Your AI intro music is hilarious lol
The gay rights movement of the early 2000s was successful because their approach was lower-case 'c' conservative: "Look, we just want to be like you. We want to have a normal married family life with a normal home and normal jobs. We want the ability to visit our spouse in the hospital when they're terminally ill." Their goals were so fundamentally reasonable that it was hard to argue against them and public opinion rapidly shifted on the issue. In the year 2000, same-sex marriage was legal exactly nowhere. Fifteen years later, it was legal in nearly every developed country with majority levels of support.
The current social justice progressivism movement instead lectures, heckles, guilt-trips, and puts on really unpleasant airs of moral superiority. While 'Wokeism' isn't the only reason for Kamala Harris losing, I do believe that many voters vented their pent-up frustration toward the cultural left at the ballot box.
As far as the DEI stuff goes, while I find the tokenistic pandering to be annoying and eye-rolling, I'm much more concerned about DEI in hiring. In media and entertainment, there's been such an extreme amount of brain and talent drain that it's killing the games industry and Hollywood. When you prioritize hiring for things other than skill, like skin color and gender, you get people who aren't as capable or passionate and it shows. I'd rather have an ethnically and gender homogenous team of experts, no matter what their race or gender are, than a colorful team of amateurs. In reality, the best of the best can still be diverse, just not as diverse as they're forcing teams to be today.
There's also just the rampant safetyism and eggshell walking that comes with the whole ideology, which kills creativity like we've seen with Dragon Age The Veilguard. You can't be rude or offensive in that game. You can't really play a role, you're just forced to be a goody two shoes. You can easily predict that some characters won't be evil, especially in some specific ways (perverts, rapists, ect.), because of their gender identity. If they were, the games media would cause a never-ending shitshow for Bioware. But being so predictable makes things boring and stale. Contrast this with Metaphor ReFantazio, which is made by a bunch of old Japanese dudes. It touches on a ton of topics in a thoughtful way that isn't lecturing or overbearing. They even make one of your party members, who is shown to be a noble hero, openly racist (who continues to be racist and doesn't change). That's something Western studios could not be bothered to even consider doing because they'd never hear the end of it from HR, or the media, or other woke employees. But it makes the game actually interesting and leaves you a bit conflicted. I like having to think and Metaphor makes you think.
100% The hiring process is a huge part of the downfall of western companies. HR departments are willingly breaking the law in order to achieve this forced rainbow diversity at all levels no matter how small the team is without taking into account that if the number of applications and skill aren't radioed in this exact same proportion you are sacrificing talent in order to achieve this diversity. Of course this would require some basic understanding of logic and statistics , which they don't care about.
In my view, you're not overemphasizing the cultural influence on the election. I was way more of a lefty my whole adult life since 1990, a Bernie supporter in 2016, Tulsi (1st) and Bernie (2nd) in 2020, and then I voted for Trump this month. I think Bernie's weakness, cowering to the Dem establishment, plus the left's cultural authoritarianism really repulsed me. Then the government's Covid response and hypocrisy during the summer 2020 protests/riots, really destroyed my trust in government bureaucracy. I think being working class gave me a different perspective, too, as I think class was another major factor in how Americans see the world and vote. There seems to be a historic realignment going on in the parties, with most people not really identifying with either right now, but doing what we can to assess what is a better choice in the moment.
That song is genuinely amazing. We are so fucked
Glad you're feeling better.
I think that authoritarian thought policing, regardless of where it comes from is a negative. I didn't appreciate it when it was coming from the Christian right in the 1980s, and don't appreciate it coming from the far left today. I'm moderately liberal, and support the rights of everyone to pursue their happiness in the manner that they see fit, as long as it doesn't impinge on my freedom of thought. Whether current trans rights, or fundamental Christian, I think both of your positions are great, but don't try and force me to side with you.
I think that your take on gay acceptance is interesting, but it fails to take into account that gay rights has been a battle since the 1970s, and resulted in several high profile killings. The fight for transgender rights has resulted in several high profile wrong pronoun uses. In the 1950s and 1960s, the civil rights movements led to murders of activists. Today's racial equality movement is about micro-aggressions. I often wonder if every generation needs a great cultural battle to win, but gender rights, gay rights, and racial rights have been largely won, so the new left wing needs to create problems to solve them. I think that like the modern art movement, current progressives are starting to gaze too long at their own navels.
I should stop now, lest I get in trouble.
Christian perspectives have had a little longer to be tested. Any christian sect that was too meek or had fundamental opposition to survival goals got conquered or died out. Hence Shakers. (For reference other, fun christian sects that disappeared included the Phibionites, Ophites, Carpocratians, marcionites. So it's a roughly even split between groups who were celibate and groups that were full-blown sex cults.) Any sect that survived would have either been somewhat aligned with evolution, or would have been hybridized into a form that didn't collapse (eg. an ethic of perfect forgiveness alongside an ethic of locking people up if they violate the social contract, or pacifism as an ideal but having a military budget). But if you're a leftist who thinks prisons should be abolished or the military is unnecessary, then maybe you're advocating something that you haven't tested and can't know it won't lead to complete societal collapse or sending people to reeducation camps.
The christian perspective on human nature is that we're all degenerate scumbags who need to be saved. Occasionally, the left gets into "we're all pure and anything suboptimal is cultural programming. Something about capitalism or patriarchy. Now we're sending you to the Gulag to hammer the contours of your soul until you're a perfect angel and ideal citizen.". In terms of alignment with human nature or thriving, they'd be banning opposite bits of thought. It's the strangeness of watching someone protractedly beat someone else to death and thinking "if only he'd read the communist manifesto".
As is, a lot of the leftist thought police stuff is summed up as "don't believe your lying eyes". It might produce a more hostile reaction.
Love the parting song.
Thanks it turned out well :)
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
― C. S. Lewis
I was against the moralizing right for the same reason I'm now against the moralizing left. Americans culturally are individualistic and WILL react badly to being told how to think and what to do. This entire movement is nothing more than another Satanic Panic where everything and everyone that doesn't conform is inherently evil. Unfortunately, no one seems to learn this lesson and soon the right will begin trying to grandstand and moralize again. The pendulum swings.
Except the right never had the power that the left has. You could and can ignore the right, even when they were in government. They mostly want to be left alone while the left wants to use the power of the government by expanding it into every part of life.

Excellent essay. The only exception I take is to your description of the Trans issue as impacting a small segment of the population. On the contrary, this issue impacts every female--and their family members--who plays sports in high school or college, who resides in a college a dorm room, or who uses a locker room in a gym or spa. It also impacts every parent who faces the prospect they might be manipulated or coerced in to signing a parental consent form for the use of puberty blockers or sex-change hormones on their child. That is tens and tens of millions of Americans.
@@johnmiwa6256 sure, but the bigger point is that if handled sanely, the trans issue would be about a very small segment of the population. There should not really be a debate about sports. Well said. Well thought out. Well done. I hope to see the direction of society as a whole come back to common ground. And, Yes, common sense.
Inflation is naturally one thing. But that is driver for both parties voters.
Major thing around all of West is immigration.
Under growing pressure of immigration, number of anti-immigration voters keeps growing. Usually one party offers answer to it, few parties are indifferent and rest of the parties tell people they will give them more immigration.
Not hard riddle to solve why populist "racist" party keeps getting more and more votes. Election by election they get more, even how racist we call them.
And yeah "woke" is issue to people. It is so many things from discrimination to science denialism. It is outright injustice and child abuse to some.
When members of your party go on record not knowing what word woman means to pander to trans activists. People will see that just as absurd as it is. They will be absolutely horrified when those politicians push it to effect their kid's schools.

It was not that bad... Just 2 million or so votes missing or so. Therefore, dear Democrats, get your ass up and start again.
The real issue with US politics is the two-party system. Judging by the elections here in Germany, people do not fall into two camps. They are always on the spectrum. This lack of variety in the US causes a lack of representation for the huge number of people in the bell curve. Add a highly sophisticated propaganda machine that is US media, and you can swing people from one camp to another. Because most of them do not elect people to represent them but those perceived as the least bad choice. And this perception is what the media can adjust at will.
Let's be honest here; most people do not have time for an in-depth analysis and elect based on their "feelings."
At first I don't believe in it but in most cases it was animal farm.
Leaned a little hard into the trans issue to make your point, but it is refreshing that someone is willing to talk about that, and it is a good point about the party being out of touch. The D party has pushed further left past being liberal and collectively become something that feels like a cult to me. Almost like an inverse of the evangelical right that keeps pushing further right. I don't like either.
The animal farm after all.
My main passions are animal rights and environment, and I do not mean the endless politicisation of climate change when I mention that. The left does not offer a home for these concerns anymore either (looking at it all, I wonder if actually they ever did, with for example the Green Party in Germany having had proven connections to pedophelia already in the 80s). It has become all about gender ideology, race divisions (ironically promoting divisions), and in regards to mass migration, no one on the left seems to ask 'how will millions of people from developing nations moving to developed nations, impact energy consumption (fact: it skyrockets), water pollution, trash creation, animal rights'. When you have someone like Neil deGrasse Tyson talk about how some mornings you may wake feeling more like a woman and then put lipstick on, aside from this being the promotion of idiotic stereotypes.. where is the mention of avoiding animal tested products? When you dare ask questions in regards to these issues, you either get blank stares or are called 'far right', which is so ironic. Maybe if humans would stop obsessing about humans so much, and would move towards taking their roles as caretakers of this amazing planet more serious, we would see progress, including improving life for humans, but instead we observe narcissism being through the roof, self promotion, self obsession.
Humanity sucks 😢
Hope you get better, you still look quite unwell. Make sure to rest enough
Your list of things that make you left leaning are agreed aupon by the right as well. The difference is in hiw that is acheived. Thats a huge disconnect. Leftwing policies do not achieve any of that, though they delude themselves into thinking it does.
To be fair, noone knows for certain the most effective way to achieve it, which is why we need something who is willing ti dismantle some of these bloated systems and develop new methods and stay flexible if they dont work.
Decentralization is a good start, and the established parties were not interested in giving up power in the federal government.
Nearly everything should be done by states and they can try to find the best path for their people
America's fucked
Just the fact that you feel that talking about the trans issue "is such a minefield", should show exactly what people are sick of, the authoritarianism.
Your idea about the gay rights movement seems seriously misinformed. Ever hear of the Stonewall riots? The fight for gay rights wasn't about 'being nice' to people who hate you on religious grounds or whatever. It was a constant, draining uphill battle - and there's still a significant portion of Republicans who want to turn back that particular civil rights clock again.
@@sankharaYT of course there were lots of protests and clashes across history, but my point remains. Ultimately, the gay rights movement established itself as an approachable group of people who were good neighbors and citizens who didn't threaten anyone and wanted to live in peace. The trans movement is taking a wildly different approach (possibly because they didn't have the same degree of grassroots stuff earlier on).
@@ErikKain I don't think trans people threaten anyone either. I agree with you that a variety of loud and shrill trans advocates (of The Mary Sue mindsets) come across as annoying in their fanaticism. If you call everyone who even looks at Hogwarts Legacy an enemy of progress, that's gonna produce backlash, naturally. And if a woman feels insecure in her own bathroom, that's bad - but I am absolutely dead sure that most trans women would take great care not to offend anyone in such situations, as they are very well aware of the narratives being told about them. Also, trans people of course aren't a monolith, and gay people weren't either. I doubt there ever was a united gay movement front that one day decided to appear as good neighbors, when before they didn't. Same with trans people. There's much to discuss RE: trans rights and I'm all for lowering the volume and hysteria (on all sides) but the idea that they as a group act as actually threatening I don't buy. Unless I see a variety of reports documenting actual threats, rather than perceived ones.
This is becoming one of my favorite RUclips channels.
I always knew you were secretly based lol
Did Biden ever say he was only going to serve one term or was this only from second hand sources? Otherwise, and as usual, I find myself agreeing with your take. If you haven't already you should listen to Sam Harris's take on the election.
@@j-ptruman2508 I thought he said something about it being a transition presidency but I could be mistaken. Maybe it was just "sources".
It was understood when he took office that that was his intention.
@@FireHeatLight This is not the same thing as him saying it. Maybe I missed it but I don’t remember anyone directly stating Biden would be a one term president.
Your political motives make you a Republican Erik. As does just plain common sense.
Thanks Eric, glad you’re back. Not being on the Right, but looking at the Left and being like WTF? Is a strange place to be. LAUSD recent declaration seems to be just doubling down on everything you’re pointing out is part of the problem. It’s exhausting.
Very fair coverage at least you did not just say they are the best😊💯👍
I think you fell into the trap.
I understand that the Democrat's stance on transgender bathrooms and athletes is not everyone's cup of tea, but is this really the most important issue to base your vote on? Aren't there more critical and more impactful topics, like abortion, health care, climate change, foreign politics, the economy or the eroding trust in our democratic institutions?
Democrats probably should have taken a more level headed stance then. When you're objectively wrong about something and state anyone who disagrees is a literal nazi then people are going to ignore EVERYTHING you have to say.
I was wrong. Definitely unsubscribing.
From your Lips 👄 to God’s ears 👂
Thanks Erik!
Thanks for the video. Interesting view on the election and the psychology of it. As an Australian, it seems unbelievable that Trump was elected - he is wildly unpopular internationally. Interesting insights on the unpopularity that has grown in the democrats. I think your first point was a big part of it - that Joe Biden and the democrats not properly planning a handover to a new candidate left the campaign in a bad spot and left Kamala the only viable candidate - and it worked out badly.
Yes but didn’t you vote for Harris?
wow I cant believe you would voice political opinions on your personal youtube channel. unsubscribed, unfollowed, demonetized, and blacklisted
You're just attacking a strawman.
Please provide examples of this allegedly huge problem of trans women in sports dominating biological women.
Please provide examples of all of these totally non-passing trans women using the womens room.
I'll wait.
Watching Erik Kain for political analysis is like asking the DnD club for dating advice.
Economic anxiety that Trump will be able to fix. I love tariffs. I hope they cut Medicaid because people don’t deserve “handouts”
I grew up in the 60s and never got anything free hopefully others dont either
MAGA!!!
Yeah, how dare these people need help in the first place... why should a society take care of its weakest members when it can be egotistical and ruthless instead.
Thanks for this interesting video. Some good points there. Some thoughts I had while watching this video:
- The toxic form of woke is there, we can't deny this. The democratic political party isn't necessarily woke, but they do get seen as part of the woke community, this damages them. Which is a logical development but also partly unfair. (yeah later on in the video you kind of addressed this).
- Because of the sentiment, it seems like a better alternative to vote for a guy like Trump. But you're basically move towards a candidate who constantly has been trying to shut down political members and members institutions who disagreed with him on certain points. Aside from that he also has been speaking out his doubts about the democratic system, but only if he loses. All of this is even more toxic and dangerous then being woke. It potentially harms democracy.
- I think woke already crossed its peak when it comes to the regular people. The big woke hype is behind us. No it's not gone, but it's more something for a small group of activists now. Unfortunately, now big companies are running the woke hype by using it as cover, one of the reasons why media still uses their artificial way of diversity which (fairly) annoys so many people.
I got your point, relatability makes people care less about the toxicity of the right. But it makes me think more and more that a lot of people are just emotional voters. Something I don't necessarily consider a good thing.
But I might be wrong here, feel free to argument against this. I love open conversations and I don't know everything either.
The Dems also doubted the results of elections that didn’t go their way, Russia-gate being one example.
You guys all need to take responsibility for yourselves. Feminine men are not a threat to you (this goes for the women with stockholm syndrome too). You should try some of it. Men weren't born rigid blockheads. You are cruel to each other, in the name of masculinity, then blame it on everyone else but yourselves.
I disagree when you say the trans issue doesn't affect most people. Don't we all know one trans person or have a friend who knows a trans person? For me, accepting people as trans is just the same as accepting anyone else. It's accepting difference. The changing room thing is a separate point, as is sport. But obviously it's a very new issue with teething problems but i find it hypocritical to say you accept gay people etc but not trans. It's all 'difference' as far as I'm concerned, some people are just not good at keeping up with the way society changes. I worry more about the intolerant members of society than trans athletes. Maybe female athletes have a more relevant opinion but a lot of this is about being open-minded and having empathy, in my opinion. Show your children to accept people who are different, as long as they aren't harming anyone.
@@jbri1 you're getting this mixed up. I think you can accept gay people and trans people equally but disagree with the trans activist approach and the way the broader left culture is handling it. I personally believe it's led to the most transphobic backlash, and that they don't really care about that and what that means for actual trans people.
How many ideologically gay people can a society support before reproduction stalls and suddenly they're doing damage to others by consuming resources without contributing to the reproductive posterity of labor? People don't appear out of nowhere. That's why reproduction is typically incentivized and even exalted in productive societies.
It seems like the West has already reached a point where population replacement rates are insufficient to sustain infrastructure and social programs, so we import definitely-not-slaves from foreign countries, pay them in amounts that are locally negligible but significant abroad (definitely not slaves), and replace the expensive and non-reproductive local labor force with a more economical extranational one.
I really want answers to these questions, but they're always censored on RUclips.
