    I get great germination for broccoli, but my stems are so short. What am I doing wrong?

    • @Growingmicrogreens
      @Growingmicrogreens  2 года назад

      Three steps with micros
      1 germination
      2 blackout this is where height comes in leave it in blackout for at least 2 to 3 days
      3 lights
      You want to make sure you leave it in blackout until you reach the height you are looking for because once you place in light the height growth slows down

      You’d have to properly sanitize it. It’s cheaper and easier to start fresh. If you refuse you take a huge risk of introducing mold into your grows

    • @Growingmicrogreens

      Watts on lights 22
      Our shelves are 10 inches apart and lights are placed against the above shelf they do not get hot so as the plant grows taller it does not harm them. Peas almost touch the light and grow great

    Please can you explain the difference between root hairs and mould - how can you tell the two apart ? Sorry if this is sounding dumb.

    • @Growingmicrogreens
      @Growingmicrogreens  2 года назад

      Root hairs are along the root and are white the hairs are looking for water so if you mist them they disappear. Mold looks like spider web usually a light gray and will not disappear when misted

      Each state is different you would need to check with your local agriculture department to be sure as to what is needed for you. If you plan on just growing for farmer’s markets check with them on requirements as well. Most require insurance we get ours from next insurance it’s extremely affordable
