Thank you for all the information! I did some research after watching the first time, and i did discover that the 868/915mhz keys CAN be generated with the KM100, but you must use the Ford Style High Frequency remote. Hopefully this helps anyone else with this concern!
For some reason I am tempted to think that the best tools from Autel are the IM508 and IM608 ... those are the ones that set Autel apart. Expensive but they do the job.

it is not a matter of if the tool support the keys. the AUTEL bmw smart key is not designed to work on 868. this means you can\t generate bmw keys for 868. the KM100 does 868 for some fords is I remember correctly. You also can use the km100 to code keys to cars even if the key is 868. as described by someone on a bmw 3 series
Hi, I was about to buy it to program e90 keys for my car but you mention that it wont program 868mhz bmw. What other tool can you recommend us for this frequency please ? (Cheapest if possible)
for only 1 key you are better of getting someone else to code it and cut it. in the UK a key + cut + code is less than GBP150. You don't have a tool to do it at that pricepoint. Autel IM508 will do it. Xtool has some units that can do it.
I don't work as a locksmith, so I don't have extensive experience with it. What I have seen at some of my friends is the Xhorse Dolphin XP005L as the essential tool for cutting the keys and the Xhorse Max or Autel IM508 / I608.

But it won't communicate with the ecu. Any ideas? A local locksmith (i just don't trust him) told me the KM100 is a joke and the newer gm trucks can only programmed by a special dealer software. I don't believe him
test the km100 on another vehicle first. after that send an email to autel and ask if there is compatibility with your vehicle or if the km100 can do the job. I have seen that for the more complex jobs autel wants you to have the AUTEL IM508 or IM608. And never give up :)

KM100 can't do any BMW from 2010 onwards. You need IM508 . However KM100 can generate a key that you can code with other more advances tools from Xtool H6Pro or their dedicate Key programming tools. I am not familiar with the Audi Q8s . @@MoBro-mf5tg
I'm next to positive that it does but does this scanner also work as a regular OBD2 scanner for reading and resetting codes along with general maintenance things such as resetting service lights and putting the electronic parking brake into service mode and maybe even reading TPMS
I would say that it does not allow for that. autel kept diagnostics separate from key programming. but It has been a while since I used it, and I am talking from memory.
My problem with it, is that the Autel KM100 can't make 868 keys for bmw. It can make 868 keys for FORD or some other strange brand. Also The universal keys autel have just don't cover that option because the majority of bmw are other Hz. Now the programming capability of the unit is not related to the Hz. that is another thing all together. Did not have any old BMW to test compatibility, but I expect it to be able to do it.
unlocking keys is not dependent on the programming tool. It can unlock any original key that it has on the database. don't know about proprietary keys from Xhorse
@@johnpham9038 the Autel universal key can be unlocked. you can do that from the km100 without having to open up the key and connect wires. check the menu. this is the big advantage with these keys. you can use them and reused without to much work.

designed for the american market, NOT for europeans only uses autel keys, still poor on toyotas has regional locks will brick hondas and nissans use ktplus

The KM100 did not have any update fee at the time of me buying it. Yes it can be used on some vehicles to program/diagnose OEM keys.

the km100 can't do 2010+ bmws. I am looking at testing some xtool scanners that I have that could do the bmw.

I just did my e90 key today with this tool, e90 normally use 315mhz. The tool worked great.
