    The EXIT button is misspelled on the K5 Plus as EIXT. 🤦‍♂️

    I looked up and found that Baofeng subcontracts to build many radios for many different companies with different specs. Even subsidiaries of Anytone as well.

    I bought this same exact radio (BF k5 Plus), even has the same typo EIXT for the exit button, lol. Just wanted to say thanks for pointing out which driver to use on Chirp, been trying for days and couldnt get it to read, but can confirm that using Baofang UV-17Pro works for this radio.

    Do you have the programming software for this radio? I've been looking everywhere for it and the seller I got it from on AliExpress doesn't have it.

    • @bigwill4423
      @bigwill4423  9 месяцев назад +1

      The BF-k5 Plus can use either the UV-17 pro selection in chirp or the T6 UV v 1.1.8 CPS software available for download from www.miklor.com

      @bigwill4423 Thank you for the quick response! I've been looking all over for a couple weeks. You made my day Sir! I will also open a ticket as a new radio for CHIRP and note that we can use that CPS for now until integrated with CHIRP.

    Can I buy this and use in my amazon warehouse ? They use Motorola there is it easy to copy the frequence?

    • @bigwill4423
      @bigwill4423  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would say probably not. It is a ham radio and requires you to have a ham radio operators license in order to transmit on it. The Motorola's at your work could also quite possibly be digital radios whereas these are analogue and can not share frequencies.

  • @M7EUP
    @M7EUP 10 месяцев назад +1

    It’ll probably sync either way the 5rm option on the latest chirp too.

    • @bigwill4423
      @bigwill4423  10 месяцев назад

      Yep, you're right Matt. The only issue is with inputting airband frequencies as the software doesn't want to know. All other non-airband frequencies go right in no problem and you can input airband via the keypad....just had issues with the software and airband. 🤔

    What is the sensitivity of this Baofeng? What is the sound from the speaker?

    • @bigwill4423
      @bigwill4423  10 месяцев назад

      Sensitivity is about the usual for a baofeng and the sound quality is quite good though the airband frequency does suffer from a fair bit of "noise" which is probably due to the way the radio receives am signals.

    Стоит ли говорить о том, что у них общее программное обеспечение?
    Baofeng uv-17, UV-18, UV-19, UV-20, UV-21 pro и bf-5rh/k5 pro.

    Can the BF-K5 be opened for Gmrs?

    • @bigwill4423
      @bigwill4423  9 месяцев назад

      Strictly speaking I would say the answer is no because even though it is technically possible, the radio wouldn't meet "type approval" for a gmrs spec radio.

    I’ve heard a few people accuse Baofeng of copying Quansheng, but isn’t this just tit for tat, started by Quansheng, who not only copied Baofeng’s red/blue button layout but even CALLED it the UV-5R+?

    A very interesting scenario. What's going on here? I have developed a curiosity in the Baofeng radios and have found myself compelled to purchase various models over the years, starting of course with the ubiquitous UV-5R. Each new model appears to have better features.. My latest addition to my collection is the BF-5RH also known as the UV-5RH. This I consider to be a great radio, with easy access to the main functions, and great AM reception. Operation is quick and easy with the colour coded VFO/MR A/B & frequency search buttons. also a decent sized keypad & display. I really like the Black Screen with White numbering, unlike the Blue screen, it has a much better contrast. I have purchased the Quansheng UV-K5 out of curiosity, There appears to have been a lot of hype around this radio, yet I was sadly disappointed in its operation and performance, especially on AM band. Along with its fiddly little keypad and having to use the Shift key every time one wants to change a function, and has now been resigned to its box. Baofeng appear to have jumped upon the UV-K5 bandwagon, though I feel sure it outperforms the Quansheng.

      I've had a very similar experience to you. Quansheng was terrible on airband and I've found the firmware expansion on it to be just a gimmick.Thank you for your comments. 👍😎

      No. It's not a CB radio. It's a ham radio.

    Spectral purity is an abomination with only 6 watts spread across 200Mhz. Its a terrible insult to ham operators.
