The irony (or maybe hypocrisy) of this speech is that it resulted in her raising $50m for Israel's Haganah (defense forces) to buy arms & ammo from Czech (USSR) and then escalate violence and killing of Arab Palestinians. Ben-Gurion wrote that Meir's role as the "Jewish woman who got the money which made the state possible".
