Alanis Morissette creaded her own class of music in the 90ies. "Jagged Little Pill" is the ulitimate album for a frustrated and angry woman. Please react to several of the songs, particular "You ought to know" and "You learn".
I was in my 20s and working for a non-profit org when this song was huge in Australia. We were in the middle of organising a conference, when we lost all our funding - overnight, with no notice. I remember singing Ironic at work to express how I felt about pretending that everything was fine even though we were all about to become unemployed 😅
Check out "Hand in my pocket", the live version from a very young Alanis back in the late 80s/early 90s. Alanis is hugely underrated. Loved her for decades :-)
OMG..you never heard of Alanis Morissette!! Her album Jagged Little pill and all her singles off the album were a HUGE hit in Australia!! I bought it!! You should listen to her other songs!!
I bought the album and I loved this song. But I had a shit cassette player. When we got the CD and played it on the family sound system, it was like rediscovering the song all over again because I could finally hear the harmonies! It was (and still is) glorious. I would go offkey because I want to sing every vocal 😅
The second verse of this song had me worried. I am safe n sound (and sick af with a bad cold). ATL was lit. I met several of the fam up there. I did it, I flew, TWICE. Once again I show my anxiety who's the boss with help from the Mack Fam. Good times.
My first 4 fav albums are all Pink Floyd my fifth is Jagged little pill I'm glad for her she found peace in her next album but her anger for this album is second to none.
I love this reaction man!!! I love her so much. And I love when sometimes we revisit shit that we hated and are like “holy shit. That’s actually pretty dope.” I’ve coincidently done that A LOT this week. So it’s really exciting that I stumbled upon this video. Thank you, man.
Thx Jason! Been about 20yrs:) -If your into great singers -JEFF BUCKLEY-anything from the album "Grace" is a good place to start if your not already familiar with him(pretty sure his only studio album). Considered one of the best rock albums all time -SO GOOD. The band is great, but Jeff is something else. Enjoy your reactions:)
Hahaha I remember when this song first came out I HATED it so damn much, and they played it all the freaking time, so I couldn't escape it and it grew on me and then one day I was suddenly a huge Alanis Morissette fan lol. This entire album is phenomenal.
She was such a tom boy when she was a kid. I remember when this song and video first came out, and when I saw the name I did a double take. Even here in Australia we had got a few of the Canadian kids tv shows aired. She was a young child on one of them called "You Can't Do That On Television". She always had short hair back then in a bob.
Hope you delve into her more. Amazing vocalist! Check out Uninvited live (Grammys) That I Would Be Good live Storytellers is also beautiful. I also get not liking a song/voice when the chorus is all you remember. That has happened to me with The Chicks and Toad The Wet Sprocket and now they are my top two bands.
The most ironic thing about this song is that apparently she had no concept of what ironic actually meant. She's admitted in interviews since then that nothing she says actually fits the definition of that word.
If the examples is the song do not actually fit the definition of Irony, then your use of it is also incorrect. The truth of the matter is, most of the examples in the song loosely fit the dictionary definition of ironic. eg.: noun - a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects
Alanis was a little like what Nirvana was: she was not that pretty and didn‘t want to make music like Mariah Carey or any other female artists before her and her music was edgy and controversial. But she clearly paved the way for artists like P!nk and Avril Lavigne half a decade later. I still can recall the hype when this came out in 1995 and at first I didn‘t know what to think of it. Today I am convinced that „Jagged little pill“ is one of the most important albums of the 1990ies…
Looking at your recent videos, you seem to be on a bit of a Canadian artist/band kick. Not sure of that's intentional or coincidental, but I like it. I speak for most Canadians when I say, you should deep dive our greatest musical treasure. The Tragically Hip. A lot of their songs are about pure Canadiana, and all of them tell a story.
She is brilliant! Thank U, Uninvited, and You Oughta Know are some standout songs of hers. Such a good singer. Ironic is one of the least impressive examples of her vocal chops
Didn’t like her back in the 90’s. Too angsty for me. She was 21 yrs old and I had outgrown all the breakup drama the Jagged Little Pill album contains. Have grown to appreciate her vocals.
Her debut was You Outta Know, check that one out too, it made her famous instantly worldwide
Nice to see one of my favourite Ren dudes react to this wonderful woman and her equally wonderful songs.
Off of One of my favorite albums jagged little pill
Oh, i love Alanis. She is the best , I use to drive my parents nuts blasting her music in my bedroom 😆
Obsessed with Alanis when this album came out. Mid 90’s music is still my favourite. 💛
Please do her live awards performance of “Uninvited”! 😁 also, “thank you” is amazin too!
Omg yes, I used to play Uninvited on repeat 24/7. So good!

She was the soundtrack to my angsty early 20's. Loved her in the mid 90's

Awesome video.

Check out Alanis' song "Thank You" official video. It's Beautiful!!! Alanis is Fire!!! Jagged Little Pill album is a masterpiece!!!
The album was amazing at an amazing time.. It even grew on a hard case like me..
Even I. 1997 loved Alanis Morissette songs
This album was my 16yr old theme song self. I still love this album from start to finish!! My 15yr old daughter is now also a fan!
OMG..you never heard of Alanis Morissette!! Her album Jagged Little pill and all her singles off the album were a HUGE hit in Australia!! I bought it!! You should listen to her other songs!!
Yes!!! The song 'You Oughta Know' was the GenX middle finger break up song from my Aussie youth. Ahhhh, memories :)
I loved that album.

What a interesting video🤘❤️
Do yourself a favor and listen to her do “uninvited” live at the Grammys! Her live vocals will blow you away! 🔥🔥
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fun fact. Favorite singer of Morisettes father. Thats why he named her daughter Morisette. I miss this woman.
Always loved her first album, and a soundtrack too to my year in Canada
The second verse of this song had me worried. I am safe n sound (and sick af with a bad cold). ATL was lit. I met several of the fam up there. I did it, I flew, TWICE. Once again I show my anxiety who's the boss with help from the Mack Fam. Good times.
Uninvited live from the Grammy's. Amazing.
My first 4 fav albums are all Pink Floyd my fifth is Jagged little pill I'm glad for her she found peace in her next album but her anger for this album is second to none.
You should watch the live Grammy Awards version of Uninvited. It's a visually great performance.
Hey Nick, not sure if you knew this but your bud Morissette (Amon) was named after Alanis… a favorite of her father’s.
Please go and look her up its worth it

She’s an amazing live vocalist. You should watch her performance of Your House live at the VMAS. Half of it is acapella
What a run of Canadian singers - Burton Cummings, Celine Dion, Alanis Morissette !
Needs to do some Rush now. 😊🇨🇦
@@Fred-vy1hm He did. No waiting. ruclips.net/video/s3Jf-Bd5NK8/видео.html
Love love Alanis what a trailblazer and amazing artist ❤ I loved seeing old clips of Taylor Hawkins playing drums for her band 🎶👊
Check Thank You by Alanis - mostly naked.
This is who Morrisette Amon's father named her after. He was a fan of hers.
This album was my anthem throughout college! All great songs!
This album and Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie for me!
Bro, listen to her album jagged little pill, a masterpiece
I sometimes forget how young you are.
Hahaha I remember when this song first came out I HATED it so damn much, and they played it all the freaking time, so I couldn't escape it and it grew on me and then one day I was suddenly a huge Alanis Morissette fan lol. This entire album is phenomenal.

If you really want a taste of her vocal ability, I'd recommend checking out Mary Jane live on the Jagged Little Pill tour

THIS
I’m pretty sure Morissette Amon was named after her
check out the song Too Hot by Alanis Morissette
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥
You know she’s Canadian from how she’s driving down the road in the snow with the window wide open 😂

"I used to hate hearing this on the radio." Well isnt it ironic?
Looking at your recent videos, you seem to be on a bit of a Canadian artist/band kick. Not sure of that's intentional or coincidental, but I like it. One of, I'd add Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young and Rush on any list of Canadian musical treasures along with The Hip. 😊
Talk all you like it’s your channel.
The iconic red beanie lol. I will say they overplayed it for sure. I don't blame you for not liking the chorus
She is brilliant! Thank U, Uninvited, and You Oughta Know are some standout songs of hers. Such a good singer. Ironic is one of the least impressive examples of her vocal chops
More pause than a dog with 20 legs. 😂😂😂
I wanted to like your channel but you can't keep your finger off the pause button.
What’s so funny about this song, is that not one thing that she sings about is ironic! 😂😂😂😂😂
What's funny about this comment is the fact that everyone repeats it, yet it's mostly incorrect. 🤔
None of what she was talking about was ironic... just unfortunate. Does not change the fact she could sing her butt off.
Didn’t like her back in the 90’s. Too angsty for me. She was 21 yrs old and I had outgrown all the breakup drama the Jagged Little Pill album contains. Have grown to appreciate her vocals.
There's parts of the song you don't like but you know what I don't like! IS PEOPLE WHO STOP THE VIDEO EVERY 10 SECONDS!!!
