"To grieve deeply is to have loved fully" These MVs are so beautifully done yet my heart is sinking as we are 1 step closer to the finale. Thank you Brett and Eddy for all the joy you brought us throughout the years. You guys will always have a special place in my heart. Miss you and best wishes to you both.
The FX makeup in this one is at another level. Brett was almost unrecognisable at the beginning. Tchaikovsky being known for his romantic works, depicting his love life and hidden sexuality was such a great idea too. And you guys did it so well
Beautiful and heartfelt track. Poor Tchaikovsky being a man in the wrong place and time to pursue his real love. These tracks are all great. Hope this isn’t the last time you two do this.
Iiii uuh... Why... Why isn't anyone talking about Tchaik not simply being gay but lowkey pedo too? As much as I know, he had a lot of affairs with much younger boys, he was obsessed with his nephew too. Am I the only one who finds this a bit.. problematic? He had a rough life sure but again, this doesn't seem okay nowadays either 😅
This is the result of numerous wonderful, talented and hard working artists coming together and creating something stunning, meaningful and absolutely breathtaking! The HK ballet's beautiful dancing, Tchaik/E's singing, Producer Shaun's sound production, all those people in front and behind the camera, set builders, directors... The MV's absolute *chef's kiss!
Me, neither, I didn't think that, with their love for classical music, they would ever consider to become pop musicians. But, maybe due to their solid classical music backgrounds they can become whatever they want.
There's also a theory that he actually poisoned himself with the tea he drank. Since gayness is a taboo in his country's society, they "may have" tampered his "real" cause of death. (Suicide is also taboo there, though.)
The sadness and yearning in Tchaikovsky's (eddy) eyes are so fascinating to watch! The choreography, set design, costumes + makeup, cameo, song, and concept are all so brilliantly made!
I expected this MV to be entertaining but what I did not expect was the song to actually be a banger! So comedy aside, I'd honestly play this on repeat.
this mv presented so well tchaikovsky’s works, romanticism, and inner turmoil. beautiful work brett, eddy, and the whole team! i’m definitely gonna miss you guys .
You guys are true artists. I absolutely adore your funny and educational videos, but as a musician and just a creative person myself I'm telling you: if you can do something like THIS, then do it. These B²TSM videos really do show your true potential as artists, and we all can see now that your talent is beyond measure. I know there's a whole (and absolutely amazing) team behind each video, not just you two, but your role is definitely HUGE, and you're the ones who came up with the whole project after all. Eddy & Brett, you two are the best, really. I hope all your dreams come true, and I wish you the best of luck.
This holds so much meaning to Tchaikovsky's works and especially his private life! Thank you Eddie and Brett for this! And the lyrics too! The production quality and everything!
I think this is the best song of B2TSM so far. Not only because it sounds so good (due in part to Eddy’s wonderful singing), but because the cinematography and music work together to tell a story, revolving around the life of Tchaikovsky whilst encompassing various motifs from his works (although the musical references are much less prominent than in other B2TSM songs).
I think it's the weakest. While the video itself is probably the best so far, the song just doesn't do it for me. The classical elements are far too subdued for it being about Tchaikovsky. It ends up sounding like Kpop Or maybe the melody references pieces that I just don't recognise, who knows. It's hard to tell when it's on the vocals
@@poodook it doesn't sound robotic you can hear eddy's voice clearly, not in 8 bits.. unless the autotune technology has improved, i don't think this was autotuned
perhaps Eddy wants to educate people who would only understand pop songs like Kpop, therefore he creates C pop!!! , i.e. classical pop about composers lives
See how one pulls away after? I believe that it’s Tchaikovsky connecting with his sexuality or male lover as he is believed to be gay. But then society didn’t accept it like at 2:23 when they hushed him up.
A record of the things that caught my attention in here and some analysis: 0:10 a bride without her husband... representing how although Tchaikovsky officially married a woman, his heart wasnt hers, therefore, he wasn't there in the moment.. AND BRETT AS THE PRIEST 0:39 two arms like two swans 🥺 shaped like a heart too 0:47 THE HANDS TOUCHED!!! But one moved away :(( unreciprocated love? 1:11 Tchaik!E in a tutu!! So cute, but his suit is still on, and the bottom half was concealed by the flowers at first. An attempt to hide what's going on beneath the surface.. shocked faces when he scatters the flowers and reveals it! None of the flowers are pink or purple, like how nornal flowers are portrayed. Instead they're the colours of the 🌈 THE DETAIL 🔥🔥 or maybe im just reading too much into it 😅 1:21 Tchaik!E looks like a little swan in here 🥹💗 1:53 The swans from the beginning!!! Except now, there's only one of them... an incompleted heart 😭 2:26 Tchaikovsky being judged for who he wanted to be 💔 thus the lyrics, "Let the world have their opinion" 2:31 a seemingly innocent teacup, all of a sudden being contaminated with an unknown black liquid 2:41 the visuals are dark and in greyscale, and the moment the hands graze Tchaik!E's face, colour fills the screen ❤ the joy of love being reciprocated 2:49 Tchaik!E looking into a silhouette, a comparison of what society wants him to be, versus his concealed self. 2:54 He slowly removes his coat!!! He reveals his ballet costume, perhaps meaning that he is accepting who he is and getting to be comfortable in his sexuality and who he truly is 🥹 3:20 The hands are posed like a famous painting! I forgot which one though.. 🥲🥲 There's so many more references here, like the nutcracker soldier and toy cannon being shown at some point as well, but I cant possibly fit everything in here 🥹 I really loved this song and mv!!!! The flower scene really beautifully depicted the act of concealing parts of oneself away to fit into society's standards... showing what others want to see. I loved how Tchaik!E found resolution with himself at the end 🥹 The music was meaningful and the visuals were stunning. The expression of forbidden love, and just wanting to love like how others would. It was a beautiful experience. Edit: More theories! Someone in the replies mentioned that the teacup could've been related to Tchaikovsky's death being publicly announced as cholera, which is a water-borne disease contracted after consuming dirty/un-boiled water! However, his symptoms were allegedly similar to that of poisoning. The black unknown liquid could've possibly represented the poison that he consumed! He knew that the poison was there, however he still drank it. 1:24 is where we see this dark substance being dissolved/disappearing into what looks like a normal cup of water. It could symbolise his mysterious death, or be a metaphor for concealing something in what others deem to be "normal" Edit #2: Analysing the lyrics, the first line of the chorus: "like a bird with broken wings, nothing but a heart to sing", could be a reference to the name of one of Tchaikovsky's pieces called None but the Lonely Heart (it's a beautiful piece of music! Highly recommend!) The next line, "I just wanna love like that" meaning how although the bird is stripped of it's freedom (the wings), it still expresses itself through music (a heart to sing) so putting this back into Tchaikovsky's situation, it may imply that although Tchaik doesn't have the freedom to love whoever he wants publicly, he wants to love them through his music, though hidden melodies and emotions. (This is actually what he did in his 6th symphony! He didn't reveal it's meaning and this, no one ever knew. Some speculate that it's a Requiem, since he died 9 days after it's premiere, but no one actually knows why he composed the 4th movement ending on such a sad note, even tho most symphonies end off triumphantly. He truly was one for hidden emotions and quiet significance. I also highly recommend the 6th symphony! The last movement sounds devastating, like tchaikovsky truly intended it to be a Requiem. But who knows? 🙈🙈)
Great analysis! The famous painting of fingers touching is Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. The fingers of God and Adam do not touch to symbolize the gap between God and humanity.
I cant wait for music historians to pick apart all these MVs because they're all so wonderfully done and really honor who the composers were as people and not just luminaries.
I feel this. It’s hard to say but I feel by extracting famous people down to just their wealth, achievement and abstract qualities we wipe away their humanity.
Everything is so beautifully done in such a subtle way. The hidden identity, the forbidden longing. This is about Tchaikovsky, but there are many people in the world who have to live like this. This is so touching, brought a tear to my eye.

I thought it'll be kinda joke like Mozart song but it turned to be a truly dramatic and tragic song and I really didn't expect that it will be about tchaik's, kinda, unusual love standards which are now not really considered to be officialy discussed. I also just EXTREMELY loved how the whole picture of tchaiko's life is just hidden in so many small details, that are not actually simple to understand sometimes (i even need to read some comments before i realized all the things) like e.g. rainbow flowers or a cup with poison or cholera water (i don't now what he died of really) and just a simple listener wouldn't notice anything except of nutcracker toy on the floor but someone find out so many interesting things. Im also not a tchaiko fan btw, I knew about peter some facts (as a Russian musician i am supposed to know such famous person) but I disliked his music (just my own opinion) however now I really respect this guy and want to listen to some his music thanks to u. I watched ur video many times and i fell like i want to cry and i feel so sorry for this poor man. Omg this embodies Tchaikovsky in such a good way 😭😭 I love the details and the portrayal of the hidden sexuality. Also you guys are outdoing yourselves with the production quality with each mv SOBBING
@berger6777 ?? I'm not saying it's hidden in the video. I'm actually appreciating the fact they're showing something we didnt know until his letters were discovered (hence hidden)
Eddy’s vocal, wow, he’s a professional singer now. The whole production is just amazing for each of the farewell videos. Thank you and Cheers to everyone who made it possible, including us, the fans 👍🥂💕😄
This was more nuanced and beautiful than 90 percent of pop songs that release nowadays which only concentrates on production but forget to make something meaningful!!
this is amazing but don;t forget there are many great contemporary artists out there too! music is such a rich and universal language that is so convenient for expression. so ofc in an era where ppl can self-teach and self-publish on the internet, the sheer volume of new, lovingly created music nowadays is crazy + smth im soo o grateful to experience. good music is always there if u look for it :-)
@hwimilk that's a very interesting take actually and something not a lot of people look into!! You are certainly right when I said pop songs that release nowadays I meant selected ones that are merely high on production but low on releasing anything meaningful yet make millions of views just bcs of its temporary addictive beats almost like a short reel!! But otherwise afc there are many talented and great artists out there some that are meaningful and don't lose their originality despite the high production put into music!!
I have been watching Twoset for six years. I am now 11 years old and I am from Hong Kong I have played the piano since I was three I am now in fifth grade piano and have not been going to piano lessons because the teacher I had was an absolute asshole even though I like classical music. I don’t want to learn an instrument because for me it’s too much stress so if twoset is coming back, I’m definitely considering playing the piano again
I'm sorry, but they aren't coming back. Learning an instrument is rewarding for those who love to play. If you don't find happiness from it, consider the money your parents pay to put you through lessons and decide if it's worth it.
THIS ONES SO GOOOD ITS SO CATCHY, THEY REALLY WENT ALL OUT WITH THESE, THE VISUALS, THE SINGING, THE PRODUCTION, THE LYRICS, ITS ALL JUST *CHEFS KISS*, I love the fact that all the songs align with the certain composers life and is so personal to them, IM GOING TO MISS THEM SO MUCH 😭 😭
Tchaikovsky, my man ❤ He is my favourite composer of all time and this is such a moving portrayal of his inner struggles and turmoil. Dude was so sensitive, he swore to never compose anything again when he got a negative review 😢 He was more into dudes, which was held secretive for many many years even after his death. I already LOVED TwoSets inclusion of him in their virtual world tour, were Eddy was already playing as him, so I was stoked to see another wonderful Tchaikovsky performance here!
This is not only a beautiful tribute to Tchaikovsky but a great song! Visually, lyrically, just everything about this shows how much time and work countless artists put in to create this. Thank you Twoset for not just this masterpiece but for brining joy to the music community for years. ❤️
Holy shit. Pardon my french, but this is on a whole other level. I mean, even compared to the first videos, the quality here is freaking insane. I cannot imagine the effort involved in production. If these are the send off they wanted to do, then they are going beyond with the effort, and it has to be respected.
i knew this one would be my favorite as soon as it was announced and i was right - everything is so artistic and well planned and the whole concept is perfect
This MV broke me. I've had a deep emotional connection to Tchaikovsky for a long time. It made me cry, want to hold Tchaikovsky close and tell him that I love him.
Aside from the beautiful choreography, cinematography and lyrics, can we give a shout out to the make-up team too? The beards were so good. Now we know what they'd look like if they decided to take Brahms' route, and grow a full beard. 😍 And so handsome with grey hair too.
@@pkmnjss when they released Duh duh duh duh, I thought that their Tchaikovsky isn’t much recognizable without his beard, but now I think that they’d better have opted for a lesser known image of young Tchaikovsky (there is a photo of him beardless) because this beard doesn’t suit Eddy. To be honest he looks more like some samurai from Kurosawa movie there than like Tchaikovsky.

It could symbolise his mysterious death, or be a metaphor for concealing something in what others deem to be "normal"
Edit #2: Analysing the lyrics, the first line of the chorus: "like a bird with broken wings, nothing but a heart to sing", could be a reference to the name of one of Tchaikovsky's pieces called None but the Lonely Heart (it's a beautiful piece of music! But who knows? 🙈🙈)
Great analysis! The famous painting of fingers touching is Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. The fingers of God and Adam do not touch to symbolize the gap between God and humanity.
The spilled cup of tea at the end, perhaps in connection with Tchaikovsky's death (presumably from drinking unboiled water)
@user-Lauriionss excellent analysis, and quickly done. I like the points you make.
That's an amazing reference! Maybe the black fluid was the poison that Tchaikovsky's symptoms fit in with! @louisecolot9156

Holy cow that was one of the most genuine, beautiful things I've ever witnessed. Original, empathetic, insightful. Every moment was precious. I feel humbled.
You are gifts to the world. Thank you for your passion.
The hand holding Tchaik/E's face is gonna haunt me, ngl.
Omg this embodies Tchaikovsky in such a good way 😭😭 I love the details and the portrayal of the hidden sexuality. Also you guys are outdoing yourselves with the production quality with each mv SOBBING
erm.... HIDDEN?? That's THE theme of the video.
@berger6777 ?? I'm not saying it's hidden in the video. I'm actually appreciating the fact they're showing something we didnt know until his letters were discovered (hence hidden)
@@NuiAoki Ah, that would be the portrayal of the hidden sexuality. You wrote it in an ambiguous way.
@berger6777 my bad english isn't my first language, i edited it
The details, the potrayals ugh. As someone into film editing and classicaln THIS IS SUCH A MASTERPIECE
Eddy’s vocal, wow, he’s a professional singer now. The whole production is just amazing for each of the farewell videos. Thank you and Cheers to everyone who made it possible, including us, the fans 👍🥂💕😄
This is genuinely a beautiful piece of art. That’s some deep feels and lush imagery
EDDY'S VOCALS- MY HEARTT
TCHAIKOVSKY KING OF ROMANCE
I don’t want to learn an instrument because for me it’s too much stress so if twoset is coming back, I’m definitely considering playing the piano again
woah. Amazing!!
Do it for yourself and be the next person to influencer a young person’s life
Just do it for your future.
I play the piano.
I'm sorry, but they aren't coming back. Learning an instrument is rewarding for those who love to play. If you don't find happiness from it, consider the money your parents pay to put you through lessons and decide if it's worth it.
THIS ONES SO GOOOD ITS SO CATCHY, THEY REALLY WENT ALL OUT WITH THESE, THE VISUALS, THE SINGING, THE PRODUCTION, THE LYRICS, ITS ALL JUST *CHEFS KISS*, I love the fact that all the songs align with the certain composers life and is so personal to them, IM GOING TO MISS THEM SO MUCH 😭 😭
The cinematography and all the moving parts are SO impressive! Amazing job! 💚
Is there no limit to what you guys can do? So creative! And lovely singing, Eddy!
It brought tears to my eyes.... so beautifully made!
This is such a beautiful representation of Tchaikovsky! The sentiment is so on point and the production level and art direction are mindblowing!
This is not only a beautiful tribute to Tchaikovsky but a great song! Visually, lyrically, just everything about this shows how much time and work countless artists put in to create this. Thank you Twoset for not just this masterpiece but for brining joy to the music community for years. ❤️
This song's very demure, very mindful. In fact, Tchaik's very demure, very mindful.
Holy shit. Pardon my french, but this is on a whole other level. I mean, even compared to the first videos, the quality here is freaking insane. I cannot imagine the effort involved in production. If these are the send off they wanted to do, then they are going beyond with the effort, and it has to be respected.
I AGREE SO MUCH
The lyrics, the constume, the make-up, the veiled dancers, the setting, the flowers, the singing, the music... I can't 😭😭😭!
What an amazing work you too have done together! Masterpiece! Production quality is superb!
i knew this one would be my favorite as soon as it was announced and i was right - everything is so artistic and well planned and the whole concept is perfect
All Tchaikovsky wanted to was love like that
(First time I heard this I almost cried)
I ACTUALLY CRIED. I can't believe I kinda relate to the lyrics too.. Like it's THAT sad of a song for me 😭💔
The voice, the costume, the set up, the music… I see some true dedication there!
Wow Eddy really suits that beard. This honestly could be a hit in the charts and I wouldn't know the difference.
Wow the makeup department was particularly inspired today
Gonna listen to this and all the B2TSM songs 40 hours a day to cope with when YOU GUYS ARE GONE 😭😭😭.
Wait. This is actually such a brilliant song! Also, you guys hired real ballerinas 🫶🏻 A great tribute to Tchaikovsky overall ❤️
This is the same Hong Kong Ballet (dancers, ballet master) they had a collab video. 'TwoSetViolin Archive - We Try Ballet (feat. HK Ballet)'
This was beautiful. So fragile and gentle and everything. Tchaikovski would be moved.
This was beautifully heartbreaking. Thanks to everyone in the video.❤❤
This MV broke me. I've had a deep emotional connection to Tchaikovsky for a long time. It made me cry, want to hold Tchaikovsky close and tell him that I love him.
I’m obsessed with their songs, actually listening on repeat
It’s actually crazy how beautiful this is, genuinely such a good tribute for the one and only tchaik
I'm still in a state of WOW in the best and most positive way! In short, it's brilliant, my Lovelies! Absolutely fabulous! Well done! Sending warm hugs filled with encouragement, love, and hope. 🫂💕🩰🩰💯🥰🥰
Dang yo, this is a stunning project you have completed. I'm dumbfounded at the amount of time, resources, and talent you have employed for 2024 B2TSM. Everything that's come out of this has been S-tier.
Fantastic! The letter blow my mind.
I love the Joji slow dancing in the dark reference on the Ballet leggings on suit Tchaikovsky
You guys are really something. I hope what ever you do goes well. Thanks for the fantastic work
i really cried seeing this composer represented in who he really was...THANK YOU
Tchaikovsky's gay song wasn't on my 2024 bingo card. But I'm not complaining at all ❤ Love u guys
Aesthetically, this MV is insanely good. The song and the delivery are amazing as well. Good job, team!
This is easily one of your most powerful tribute videos. Thank you soo much to everyone involved for making this all happen. Dedication like this is lead by those who follow great people and are the great people 💕
Oh my gosh this is so well produced
Eddy voice is so good, its definitely not a surprise since he has perfect pitch but both of them can rlly rap from all the past rap diss track, singing is so much more emotional and personal
Symbolism and lyrics.... the visuals... going CRAZYY in this one
Very moving, thank you so much for these wonderful videos!
This was probably the simplest song they've released so far yet the most moving! This MV was top notch :')
That was beautiful. Both video and the message behind it. We all just want be allowed to love who we love and who loves us.
Masterpiece.. Just pure cinematography and Art. Wow. Bowing
This was not an easy one! You are pure genius: keep up with the good work! Wating to hear and see the taking on Šostakóvič…
the way he portrays Tchaik so welllll!!!
All I want to know is how hard Brett laughed at Eddy wearing the ballerina's dress 💃💃
I didn’t laugh.. I mean it’s just a dress. Why is it funny?
This song is more calming than Brett's lofi
This is everything. Lyrics, music, vocals, visuals, everything makes me cry. A perfectly captured longing for true, deep closeness❤
Learning music history through these songs either makes me laugh [Mozart] or depressed. Beautiful song, the vocals really surprised me!
No way this is actually such a good banger
holy cow....do we even deserved something so beautiful...Thank you so much Eddy and Brett!!!!
Wow, I think this is my favorite one by far, Eddy's voice really suits this style
