    How it would go if it were me: marking it the same way, frantically triple checking the marks to make sure its right before cutting the tile, spend 20 minutes cutting the tile, trip over that cord and dropping the tile, do the whole process over again, go to set the tile and its 1/32" too short on the thin side which causes it to break off while setting it, give up and set the tile in 2 separate pieces

      I noticed the cord too. Couldnt hurt to move it over a little so it isnt so large of a hazard to trip over.

      It's called scribing, it's the fastest way to get a perfect measurement because you use the space you are filling as a template

    I've done tile work not a big fan of it but man you got a amazing technique there. Can't believe how perfect you do that. Must lay alot sq. A day.

      He might have laid his tile out and went full tile off the main Waller exterior wall because that looks like it goes through multiple rooms obviously so your eventually going to get cuts like that it's almost unavoidable

    Was doing this when I was 19 years old (14 years ago), got bored of tilling and became 3D artist instead. But won't lie to you watching this got me a little nostalgic. Glad to see that some people are still using their heads while working 😉

    Great technique. I also prefer grinder to wet saw. I recommend using waletale with vacuum so you are not breathing dust :)

    Nice job! I normally lay the tile down dry and then run a multi tool into the door liner so the tile slides underneath.

      0:04 how far to cut from the left side
      0:07 how far to cut from the left side on the small edge
      0:13 how far to cut from the right side
      0:18 how far to cut from the right side on the small edge
      0:24 depth of the small edge
      0:28 depth of the full tile
      0:32 depth of the small edge again (probably so he doesn't have to guess what the 90° angle is)

    Glue two tiles together, so when cutting thin pieces, it vibrates less/less likelly to break

    It was almost perfect the tile was chipped on the cut with the grinder however if it's getting tiled on the walls also or a skirting board it won't be seen. Still impressive though
