I suggest fencing in your main area until your hunting skill is up . There is a wishing well you can obtain that grants a peaceful wish . You should plant a ton of fruit to make fruit salad and you can cook and sell for good dinks in early game . Just a few suggestions.
As has been said, you can build a cheap fence and put it along the river banks. The crocs can't climb over them, so it's effective in keeping them out. Plus, you can stand on one side of the fence and stab them for their meat and they can't get you.
"Is there a way to turn down the crocodiles?" ... Tell 'em you'll see them later and then turn back and say "Just kidding, you'd have to be an alligator for that."
The crocs are bad because you built right by rivers. You could get traps and send them off for money. I love to fish at night especially beg of game in summer because after 8pm you can catch tons of Barracuda in ocean. And always cook your fish when you can then sell them. Worth more. The barracuda sell for tons and usually make 100 thousand easily. (Why i love building town on beach to start because of fishing and no crocks) Stick tin bar through saw to get sheet. Just play the game as slow as you want. No rush. Love this game, there is so much to do. Great video 👍

Ps don't give up on Dinkum it seems grinding at first but soon you'll be able to deep mine and fly to islands full of amazing resources. Metal detecting is good for lots of Dinks early game.

Ah!! I do the SAME THING with Dinkum!! It looks incredible once the game gets going, but I’m not that far, and I get easily distracted with shiny new games as well. Lol
